Listed as 4* No air conditioning, No pool towels, Unstocked mini-bar. Breakfast absolutely dire and uninsipiring - Only Dry croissants, rolls, jam, plastic cheese and ham and fruit salad. Powdered coffee in a jar. every day. Room reasonable size and clean but extremely hot making sleeping difficult. The Pool snack bar never opened. Hotel in a good location for exploring...

Just back from a week in Funchal - we selected this hotel as it is central and appeared good value for money (having read many reviews). We were not disappointed. Although central (within 1 min walk of the hubbub of Funchal), the hotel is situated in a quiet street. The rooms are clean and cleaned daily, fresh towels daily too....

Just returned from this hotel and it is a real gem. A traditional hotel with excellent friendly staff. No air con but fans in the rooms and the temperature in Madeira is always pleasant. Breakfast is continental but perfectly adequate and again staff are friendly and helpful. There is free parking. The hotel is situated right in town and not...

The hotel is by no means a four star but what it lacks in space is made up by the friendly and helpfull staff ,they make you feel they have known you for years .the hotel is in a great location for discovering the old town .the continetal breakfast was sufficient .the evening meal was varied and good .the room...

This hotel couldn't be better placed for the centre of Funchal. Our room was small but clean if a bit tired looking. We had adequate space to store our things and although the bath was small there was a shower and bath and the most efficient hairdryer I'd had anywhere on the island. I felt that the space available for...

Stayed at Windsor Hotel at the end of March 2012. Firstly, the hotel is perfectly located. It's in the proper centre of Funchal (not the 20-30 minute walk away of the 'Hotel Area' by the casino) - if you don't want to walk to get into town then stay in this area. Yes it's far more built up and not...

We chose this hotel for its central location and easy access to transport links around the island. Although the room was quite basic and a little dated, we found it to be adequate and immaculately clean. The staff were all helpful- assisting with restaurant reservations, bus times and more. Very pleasant and professional without being over familiar. The breakfast was...

THe location of this hotel is perfect. In the heart of the old city, within walking distance of just about everything yet on a quite street. The first room we were offered was very spacious with a nice little sitting area and a fridge. Alas someone had been smoking in there (against all rules) and we could not tolerate the...

the location was ideal for us in the centre of the old town but anyone who wants to spend time in and around the hotel itself would be badly placed. The restaurant is basicly in the lobby and the pool on the roof is imaculate but tiny. However, the food was good, the service excellent, the cleaning diligent and the...
