We spent 8 nights here with trevor and June franks. Their web site claimed that they knew everything about the island and they certainly did. We wanted to walk and trevor gave us all we needed to know...walks, buses, and other advice so we had a great time. The rooms were fine and they made us very welcome. Nothing seemed...

We can confirm, Trevor has a tremendous knowledge of the trails on the island, and of the bus services that you may be able to use. He is very happy to give you the advice you'll likely need. We were invited on a Levada walk by Trevor and next time we plan to stay in their house. There are so...

TJ Walking is a little gem of a bed and breakfast which we found quite by chance. Trevor and June are excellent and welcoming hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We were met by Trevor at the airport and driven to their home where they have 4 double en suite rooms. Each room is tastefully decorated and very comfortable....

TJ Walking is definitely the place to stay if you enjoy asking on Madeira. Accommodation is great together with expert information on routes to walk and the buses needed to make that possible. Trever and June go out of their way to let you enjoy your holiday on the island. They even catered for my Coeliac Disease and provided gluten...

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at TJ Walking. As others have said and we can confirm, Trevor has a tremendous knowledge of the trails on the island, and of the bus services that you may be able to use to access them, and he is very happy to give you the advice you'll likely need. Their house was...

Just back from a great holiday in Madeira,Initially we were a little anxious about booking this bed and breakfast guest house due to the awful SUZE1970 review in Feb. 2009!! But from the moment we arrived we were welcomed wholeheartedly by two wonderful people June and Trevor, they couldn't have done enough for us during our week stay. We saved...

Trevor and June Franks have been providing a wonderful service to those who love walking in Madeira for many years. They have a large house situated 900 feet above the centre of Funchal with 4 double/twin rooms to let; they also provide guests with a substantial continental breakfast. Their knowledge of walking the levadas is not matched anywhere else and...

If you want ‘boutique hotel chic’, covet a place in the Funchal tourist herd, and want expensive packaged hotel day-trips this probably isn't the place for you. On the other hand, if you want a comfortable base for discovering Madeira, a superb location in a lovely Funchal suburb, a warm welcome and a fast-track to some of the best inside...

When booking this holiday to Madeira, we deliberately avoided looking at the huge 'tourist' hotels in favour of smaller, friendlier guest houses. That was our first mistake. Trevor and June at TJ Walking (Trejuno) describe themselves/their guest house as "personal, friendly, with a homely atmosphere". If staying for over seven days, they also offer free transfers to and from the...
