Highly recommend

Travelled with a13 month old, everyone was so helpful and kind. Suite was perfect, loved the pools and the breakfast Parking was easy, lots of beach towels. Plenty of beaches nearby Perfect location, could not improve thank you

Thank you for a wonderful experience. Location was excellent with more of a relaxed setting, where you are far away from the city to experience the natural setting. Pool area was great. Indoor pool was very clean as well. Food and drinks were delicious.

Pestana Sintra Golf Hotel - Sintra, Portugal Although this is a four star hotel there is no kettle in the room so you can't make your own tea or coffee in the room. The breakfast room is always packed and a long queue to make tea or toast. For vegetarians there's very little choice in the breakfast, the beans are always cold. As for dinner you have a choice of either the buffet or order from the bar .... We ordered from the bar and it takes an awfully long time around 45mins to actually get the food during dinner. As for ironing your clothes - there is no irons in the room - they have an ironing room where there's a hard ironing board and one iron.... When that doesn't work... again a long wait to get it fixed. If the room smells they have no air fresheners either.... We asked the reception- they said they'd get back to us... but nothing happened Grrrrrr.... Don't get fooled by the pics on the internet and all the publicity stuff for the prices they charge you get a room and bed, the service is awful. We were a large group of people who went to attend a destination wedding taking place nearby and almost all had the same to say about this place. Very disappointed. Avoid this hotel at all costs. …

Super Experience at Pestana

Highly recommend Pestana The rooms were excellent with private balcony... We had view of the outdoor swimming pools that was good.... Highly commendable service by al the staff especially Reception, Bar & Restaurant staff.

Nice but different

Our room was on an upper floor. There is actually an upstairs and the downstairs in the room. The bed was upstairs. The bathroom was downstairs. That can cause problems navigating the stairs at night. There was a restaurant on site but we did not eat there. Overall nothing wrong with the place however the room layout was a bit different for us. Bonus the television upstairs was Huge.…

Are there easy transport links to get to Sintra Town (Taxi? Bus? Walk?) and Lisbon?

When you want to know I advice you to ask the hotel. We had a rental car there and that is easy. The roads are easy to drive and not difficult to find your way. What about Sintra, there are different things to see and there is a hop on hop of bus or tuk tuk if yoy like. Hopefully you can do something with the answer. G

What is the easiest way to get into Lisbon and what are the costs?

Mine was a business trip. Try search engines for a good deal

I hastily booked this holiday and I am really concerned there is not going to be much for my children (4 & 6) to do. Are there any recommendations? Many thanks

In the resort itself its pools for swimming. I dont recall there being a range. A 15€ taxi ride can get you to the front gate of the Pena Palace and the neighboring Moorish Castle thats like fantasy land. The 1.2 meter walk down through Villa Sessetti nature trails is rigorous at first but offers the best sites in all of Portugal. The end of the trail brings you back to Old Town Sintra. Plenty of places to eat, shop, horse drawn carriages. Treat them and yourself to something sweet at Periquita. in can also ask the hotel how to get to Ponde de Roca, and the dinosaur footprints in Cascais. Breathtaking costal views. There is plenty to do outside of the hotel.
