This is a very well kept secret. I'm surprised we found it or could get a room. Beautiful old village, fully restored by the owner (Diogo - who lives in one of the cottages) both inside and out. You get to pick one of 13, all very cute, all great value. Breakfast arrives every morning - freshly baked bread from...

That's the way things were. Pay attention to details: you are going to go back in time. But you will have all the comfort you need except jacuzzy. Many people will love go walking, trekking, swimming (yes in a community pool facilities) and surfing. Ericeira : best surf Spot in Portugal just 7 miles away. I recommend for all ages.

This is a small village that its totally rebuilt to the original trace (including all original accessories). A couple of the houses are permanently inhabited, all the others are for tourism. Beautiful and quiet, this is a great experience. Some of the houses are not good for small children (too many obstacles) so pick yours well. It has a very...

Small village impeccably restored to its early days. Stay here for peace and quiet, the location near Ericeira and Mafra and Sintra, and the extraordinary helpfulness of Diogo and Ana. Wifi was erratic and TV didn't work (for me) but waking up every day in the Casa do Ti Eduardo was a pleasure and a privilege. The fresh baked bread...

If you can get a reservation, you should. Ask for the house that had the wine press from 1000 years ago or something. It's so beautiful and restored and authentically Portuguese. Unlike anyplace you've ever stayed for sure.

We've stayed for two nights. The location is really good. It's close to Mafra. Also Sintra and the fisherman village Ericeira with its delicious seefood restaurants are close. The owner is really friendly. She's explained everyting very detailed about what to see and restaurants nearby. The house was a typical smal portuguese village house. Every morning the owner brought fresh bread...

Simply awesome. Very old village with an amazing recovery plan. The houses are simply beautiful, with soul. The area around is also fantastic with plenty of things to do. Both Diogo and Ana, the owners, are very friendly, congratulations to both.

We stayed at Mata Pequena for 5 nights after receiving a recommendation from friends. As both lovers of Portugal and lovers of history (as well as lovers of rural vacations) my husband and I tremendously enjoyed staying here. Diogo, his wife Ana and their staff run this place with love and care. Each house is private, yet one feels part...

It is an amazing place to spend some time, exploring rural Portugal. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the cozy houses, where we enjoyed 21st century comfort ( electricity, bathroom, refrigerator) along with 200 year old environment and some antique looking furniture. Very clean, extremely comfortable beds and absolutely amazing kitchen. Diogo was a great host, taking the...
