There are many apartment hotels in Lisbon available and this one has a nice location. We stayed here 3 nights. We really liked this area of Lisbon and found it to be very charming. You pay the same price for a regular hotel, but you have a lot more room with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, full closet, balcony and nice bathroom. The great part of this type of accomodation is they also offer cleaning services as if it were a hotel. Keep in mind the cleaning service may not come back to come clean once they have seen the do not disturb sign in the morning. We left our room and turned the sign to service our room at 10:30am. We had to contact the managment via email to see if they would be coming to clean when we returned that evening because we also wanted laundry soap and more toilet paper. They were not quick to respond until later in the afternoon next day (we emailed the previous evening). We had to buy our own laundry soap and luckily they came and refilled the toilet paper or we would have had to buy that too. If cleaning only happens early in the morning, let the guests know so we can be out of the room in time. Our room was on the first floor (or 2nd floor in American terms), first room to the left and the family above us was quite loud. We could hear them talking, so the walls are thin. The balcony is nice but the view is to the unnattractive inner courtyard with cement . Our last night there was a cockroach upside down near our bed and we let the management know as well as to thank them for having the cleaning service come to our room. They did not address the bug with a response other than thanks for staying with them. Otherwise, the room is very clean, updated and white. Very little decor. They leave you with water and some tea and crackers. The bed is firm and the wifi was not great. On the plus side the cable tv had lots of channels including many American channels. The washer/dryer combination was awesome to have, but the directions are not straightforward and we had to look up the manual online to learn how to dry and wash. The normal cycle was takes about 2 hours to wash 1 load and drying takes a long time as well. Keep this in mind for your travels and learn to choose a different cycle. Although the service was not as responsive as we would have liked, and the wifi was not very strong, we enjoyed having the extra space and additional amentities that a hotel does not have.

We went to Lisbon in January for a winter break. Picked this place off the internet - wow! You walk out of Lisbon airport, hop in the airport bus (€4), and it drops you in Rossio Square, 300 metres from the apartment. Plane to door in 45 minutes! You come and go as you please - it's an apartment - and then, surprise: you come back in the evening, the bed's made, all the towels changed EEVERY DAY, even though it has the usual stuff about 'leave them in the shower' if you want them changed. Me, I'm as eco-minded as the next, but they get changed every day anyway. Oh, and there's a fresh bottle of mineral water every day as well: and a 24-hour virtual reception , and the staff are super-helpful. You gather we liked it? You gather right. All of Baixa, downtown Lisbon, is outside your door, plus nice breakfast joints, a superb and friendly restaurant up the street... for €66 a night, that's pretty good. We were in a studio apartment, so everything in one room, and limited daylight: but we didn't go to Lisbon to spend half the day in bed! They have larger apartments as well (we saw them).

That's the best way to travel, a serviced apartment. It gave us the flexible to sleep in and cook as we required of we needed to. We loved our little apartment. Great time in our lives. Will definitely go back. Baixa is very central and it was easy to get around.

the sofa bed was not clean... the bed linen and pillows did not smell clean... there were dead bugs in the corners. this place was not what I was expecting. My husband found this place in Amex travel website and the information was misleading.

For your information. When booking their pictures promised us to have big windows and a great view, but we didn't get neither of them. We were extremely disappointed and asked for some compensation ending up getting any. There is hot water enough for only one showerer at once.

The outside door code stopped working. We called the phone number for these apartments but nobody answered. We were outside for 2 hours and eventually the second door outside opened. I called the button for inside help and asked the clerk for help since the code wasn’t working anymore: he was extremely rude and annoyed that I had pressed that button for help; reluctantly gave me a new number and spoke to me as if we were stupid. It was a very bad experience. I will NEVER book again with them, as I fear not being able to open the door snd find anybody to help me. They don’t answer the phone!

We chose Baixa Castelo Apartments as it had good reviews and it's great location. The apartments are very comfortable and are well equipped. We were disappointed upon our return to the apartment on the second day of our stay that some of our items from our apartment went missing. I addressed this issue with a staff member 3 times in which nothing was done. I then spoke to a different staff member who said "it didn't happen" meaning my stolen items weren't stolen (although they did offer to pay for them)
Their customer service is appalling and run by inexperienced staff who have no 'people' skills what so ever.
If you do choose to stay here I suggest selecting a top floor apartment as we were on the first floor and you could hear people in the above apartment walking around, shouting etc. and the heavy front door shutting when people were coming and going. Overall I WOULD NOT recommend Baixa Castelo apartments.

I was careless and left my money inside a personal bag rather than use the safe. A cleaning staff stole a substantial amount of money from me. When I reported it, I was told to use the safe and this has never happened before. There is another review here regarding stealing.

I agree I should have used the safe but the cleaning staff does not have the right to commit theft and help themselves to whatever is not locked up. Shame on the person for taking it. I hope they use my money well and karma will get them one day!

I even proposed the cleaning staff return half the money and they can keep the other half - their response “Unfortunatily we don´t have any authorization to refund money left inside the apartment (outside the safe)” - again, they have rights to whatever is not in the safe and will rummage through your personal belongings. Shameful.

Arrived in Lisbon off an overnight train from San Sebastián early in the morning and thank you so much Trip Advisor reviews for letting me know how to drop our baggage off as we got no reply when we emailed the virtual property.Booked this apartment due to previous reviews and based on photos and my request for a high floor with balcony was super excited standing at the door of 2D
I cannot explain our disappointment walking into the room, the smell from the drains was overpowering but not only that we had a very poor view from our room
We rang the virtual receptionist straight away and were told no studio rooms had a view or balcony as they all faced into the inner courtyard and when we told him of the smell he sent a cleaner within 20 minutes
She was lovely and knew to poor bleach down the toilet and sinks but this did nothing to address the issue so we have spent 5 days in less than ideal circumstances. I have an email from Booking.com telling me they knew of these issues due to the proximity of the river, etc and had I known this in their blurb I would NEVER have booked this apartment so you can imagine what I think of Booking.com. Oh and have I mentioned that the bedlinen, crockery & cutlery were dirty as well. When you consider we have paid over 200 Euros a night for this rather dark studio apartment I guess you can realize that we are extremely disappointed!
Don’t get me wrong, location of this apartment is pretty great but that’s pretty much the only reason you would stay here hence the reason I have rated it 2 stars rather than one

We've stayed at the two bedroom apartment (5A) for two nights. This is the perfect setup and location for a family of five. We've bumped into the cleaning staff ( our teenagers are not early birds) who were very friendly and helpful. We had a minor air condition issue that was dealt with promptly despite the virtual reception. The washer/dryer is great to have and the instructions were very clear. Lots of room and plenty of sun shine in this lovely apartment. Plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and a highly recommended small market 300 meters up the street (turn right as you exit the building) where all groceries (fresh) could be purchased.
The tv in the room has lots of English speaking channels. The wifi was Just OK.
We will definitely revisit this property on our next Lisbon stay. Families with two kids or more- this is your perfect option.

Yes, there are lockers in the basement. If you have the code for the main door, you can use them. They are quite big and you just need 1euro to use them.

You would have to notify the apartments when booking. I can’t see it being a problem as you are given codes 2 days out from your arrival to access the building and your apartment.
