Could not have picked a better place for my first hostel experience! Rooms were great, location was perfect, staff were accommodating and they even served crepes for breakfast. Staying here made our experience in Lisbon just that much better!

By far the best hostel we've been to. The location is fantastic, very central and close to any kind of transport links. The rooms are huge and offer enough storage room for your luggage. We stayed in the 8 persons dorm, taking advantage of their special offer and the discount. Breakfast is nice and free, although after some time you...

Best hostel I've ever been. Free breakfast ( you have crêpes and toast, and a lot of kind of juice) , everything is clean and people there are very nice. Try to do the pub crawl and do some fado bars.

Good location, nice rooms and bathrooms. Nice receptionist. The topfloor is with a huge balcony and a great view of one of the central street. Recommened. Low prices. They have a good 1day tour for Sintra.

Booked a single room, it's a shared bathroom but the bathroom facilities were immaculate and I never had to wait in line. Linen is provided if you book a single, breakfast was included. Breakfast had instant coffee as well as crepes, white rolls and cheese - can't complain, it was free. The location is fantastic and the staff were very...

I've probably spent over 100 nights in hostels and this is the cleanest hostel ever. It is spotless, including the shared bathrooms. It also has style and artistic elements, and nice interior design. Staff is also super helpful. Doing the Sinatra tour they offer is a must, for 40 euros you get transportation, an awesome guide, stops on the way,...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

For a low cost you can join other guests for our three-course hostel dinner, cooked by our talented Portuguese chef. We also offer cheap van tours (during summertime) to the romantic historical town of Sintra and the local beaches. Were located in the heart of Lisbon's historic Baixa district, the main tourist centre of the city. The hostel is just around the corner from the iconic Rua Augusta, a grand and beautiful mosaic-tiled pedestrian street capped by a colossal arch. A short stroll will also take you to the charming suburb of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon and the home of Fado, the music of Portugal. At night you can walk to the famous Bairro Alto, a labyrinth of bars and street parties. All forms of public transport, including the airport shuttle and the Cascais beach train line, are within very short walking distance of our hostel. With so much on offer, you will have everything you need to have a comfortable, memorable and fun stay in Lisbon.
