Alecrim ao Chiado is a charming small hotel with 10 large rooms and suites. The renovation was made during 2015 and it has kept the original architecture of the 18th century. The walls are covered with beautiful tiles and the stairs are large, very noble and all in stone. The rooms are all very big, very light and with large windows. The rooms from the first floor are all with balcony.

This hotel provided us with all we expected for a great visit of Lisbon. The suite was perfectly equipped, large, calm and modern. The key less security was very efficient, to circulate in and out the hotel. Breakfast was really good. But above all, we will keep in memory the kindness of our hosts, Claudia and her colleague. Their advices for finding us dinner places were absolutely fine. The central position of the hotel is the other great plus. Thank you sincerely for this moment.

I can't say enough about this small but perfect hotel. The location was perfectly located in the Chiado area - an easy walk to many of the city sights. Our rooms were large, clean and beautifully appointed. I was traveling with a friend and they were able to put us in an area that could be closed off from the rest of the inn for privacy. Andre was incredibly helpful to us during our stay. The breakfast was lovely. The only small issue was the outside noise. We were there during the Carnival holiday and there was a lot of street noise - mostly people having very loud fun, into the early hours of the morning. Thankfully we both had earplugs - without them I am not sure we would have been able to get much sleep. Aside from that, which is really beyond the hotel's control, I would definitely recommend this special hotel and would stay again.

I am from Italy (Milan) and I had a really bad experience with this hotel. My friend booked this hotel (a suite!!!), as my birthday present for end of March 2020, without cancellation because we were sure to join Lisbon. Unfortunately ryanair cancelled our flight due to CORONA VIRUS (unfortunately you all know about it) and we asked the hotel if it was possible to postpone our booking to July (hoping that this corona virus will end by that period) and the answer received by the hotel was a “kind” NO. I think that in this period where we all are suffering and struggeling to survive (in Italy the situation is really bad and the hospitals are finishing the bed places), we all should support each other, without thinking only about business and money. I am sure that I will never go to this hotel, because if you think only about business you could also be the best hotel in town but without sensibility and civic sense you go nowhere!

Dear Sara I am sorry to hear that you are upset with Alecrim ao Chiado. As you can imagine, this is a big issue for all of us. We said you could not cancel this reservation but we gave you a very special rate for another booking. I understand your point if view and I ask you to understand ours. Warm regards Joana

We have just spent a 5 day very memorable stay at Alecrim ao Chaido. We highly recommend this beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and well located boutique hotel. .Breakfast in the charming dining room was superb as were the ladies who served it. Claudia, Carolina, and Andre were extremely pleasant, professional and helpful. Should the opportunity arise again we would definitely return. Many thanks for a wonderful stay.

We recently stayed for 2 nights in this fab little boutique hotel, from the moment we arrived we loved it. We received an amazing welcome. Location was brilliant a short walk from the timeout market, the transport centre and a walk to other areas, everything was near by. The hotel was spotless clean. Breakfast was lovely. Claudia and her team make us feel so welcome. Will definitely be back.

Does the hotel have an outdoor pool?
Answer from JMB265
Jun 2020 |
No pool, it's a boutique hotel in the middle of Lisbon. However, it's sister hotel, Cash Palmela in Setubal set in the middle of vine groves in the Arrabida Hills, has two pools, and offers an amazing stay in a charming five star hotel.
