Hotel - Clean and modern. Cool music theme throughout.
Very close to bus link and metro to the airport. McDonald’s 2 mins round the corner. Roof top pool was a great feature and the main reason we choose to stay at the hotel, however beware that there is absolutely no shade whatsoever up there and there are only 4 beds (which suit a couple or small group of friends) so you have to get up there early if you plan on sunbathing all day.
Bar was open..so you have an ideal of prices, it cost my partner £8.50 for a bottle of local beer and can of Coke. There’s a shop up the hill from the hotel and the bar staff seems to be ok with us drinking our own drinks around the pool.
Room - The terrace room which we booked directly with the hotel. The terrace was huge with a beautiful view of the city and two sun loungers.
Built in quality Bluetooth speakers in the walls and mood lights.
Room was cleaned everyday to a really good standard.
Separate toilet and shower in the room. Shower was powerful and came with shower gel canister on the wall.
Smeg mini fridge and kettle with tea and coffee however no milk included and there was a struggle to find any when I asked at reception.
Breakfast - A bit repetitive but something for everyone. Eggs could some days be stone cold and the pancakes rock hard. Due to covid you weren’t allowed to help yourself and the staff would plate whatever you asked for and bring to your table. Things get missed on occasions and you do feel like a nuisance constantly asking for different bits to make up your breakfast. However I will say that the restaurant Staff were great, very helpful and accommodating despite being rushed off their feet serving multiple guests at one time. Hats off to them.
I’d definitely stay here again if I was ever to visit Lisbon again. Good standard 3 star hotel.
To get to the hotel we used the local buses that stop at the roundabout near the hotel, Marques de Pombal, having bought Viva Viagem cards with simple to use zapping credit from the Metro station at the airport. We used this simple method to get around our stay in Lisbon, 10€ each bought the card and 7 bus journeys. It is about a mile and half from the banks of the River Tagus, about 30 minute walk or short hop on the bus.
The music theme of the hotel hits you as you walk from the street with red carpet treatment then onto the drumkit reception desk and nearby piano bar. The theme is carried through the whole hotel with wall to wall images through the corridors and stairs and on to the walls of the room where there is varied mood lighting, a sound system to link you device to by Bluetooth so you can play your own music, plus a small fridge and a tea/coffee making area.
Our Harmony room was comfortable and well furnished with enough storage. However, not shown in any photos is the open plan bathroom area with just frosted glass to the toilet/shower areas. Those sharing a room who are not intimate may find this a little uncomfortable!
The only staff we met were at the reception and they were all very helpful. Check in and out were quick and easy, just the City Tax to pay on arrival. They were also helpful topping up our tea/coffee, storing our bags when we checked out, and showing us the way to the roof top pool area, (via the left lift only). Although the roof top bar was not open, the pool was in use even in January and towels are available near the pool.
Staff were lovely, room was massive and cleaned daily and we were still able to use the pool in the music hotel which was a reason we’d booked it.
Breakfast was not a massive selection but just what you need to set you up for the day.
Walking distance from most places in Lisbon which was great!
Would definitely return.
It have a music theme but it was still a working functional hotel, rooms had black and white keys theme but the shower was excellent bed firm good pillows tea and coffee and tv great size.
Local tv shows English tv programmes but substitles it and the first ten channels are football related.
All bars and restaurants show matches football universal language in Portugal
Breakfast 7-10:30 was encluded and a good range of hot and cold dishes which should suit everybody.
Too cold to use splash pool on roof but mush be great in high summer and didn’t have time for drink at bar.
Two minutes from metro and ten minutes walk down hill to city centre.
Staff very friendly, at cost and location I could not fault this hotel and would recommend again.
When we arrived we were checked in by a lovely friendly receptionist Andrea. She made us feel so welcome and even let us into our room a little earlier which was a great bonus as we were so tired from travelling. She is such a bonus to the hotel as a warm welcome sets the tone for the stay. We also met a guy NUNO. What a lovely guy. He chatted to us at length while at reception, explained how to get around the city, made us feel so welcome, came to our room afterwards to explain electronics we had a problem with , and anytime we met him at reception he always had a smile or a moment to chat to us.Thanks Andrea and Nuno. Your kindness meant so much.
The hotel itself is fab, based around a music theme, The reception is a drum kit and the bar is a piano theme and the chill out areas around the reception are funky and cool. The roof top pool area is a lovely chill out space and we wish we had more time to enjoy it. The views around the city from it were awesome. Our bedroom was lovely great views , mood lighting in room, a smeg fridge and kettle, a rain shower, and room spotlessly clean. The cleaning was of a very high standard every day so a big thanks to you all for this service. The breakfast was a highlight in itself. Fabio was so good at his job, and always had a cheerful manner and a big smile despite being so busy. Nothing was a problem to Fabio. The breakfast was Amazing. It had the biggest variety ive ever seen in a breakfast, including make your own smoothie, pancake maker and Lovely coffee machine, and freshly squeezed orange juice.pastrys, ect. The manager at breakfast time didnt get her name was so lovely too. Made time to chat to you, and her presence provided a lovely ambience around breakfast time. There is a great music booth just outside the breakfast room, where we had a bit of fun after breakfast each morning, dancing to santana, .and playing guitars. A lovely novel idea. So thanks to all of you for a wonderful stay. We will definately be back. An amazing place to stay while in Lisbon.
I want to highlight especially the breakfast. More and more hotels in Europe are using nasty convenience food with chemical additives. HF Fénix Music actually still has a real kitchen and real chefs preparing the meals for breakfast. This is healthier and it tastes so much better than convenience food. Furthermore the choice is incredible; you can even have tortillas and other meals that you would not expect for breakfast.
The value for money was incredible. I think even at hotels which cost a lot more you don’t find this level of quality and service.
Large room, with minibar. You can connect Spotify from your cell phone to your room's speakers via Bluetooth.
I stayed in a room overlooking the avenue and at night I found it very quiet in terms of noise. This avenue is busier during the day.
Good breakfast, with the option of 2 coffee machines (one of them Nespresso) as well as brewed coffee.
On the top floor there is a swimming pool with a bar (I found the prices a little high). Location with a great view of the city
"Ubers are great in Lisbon, much better than regular taxis. Salta is a great restaurant up the road, does a taster menu for €60 great value."Read full review
"Avoid the tram 28 too long a wait. If you want to go to the Old Towm use a Tuk Tuk. Definitely visit the Port and Belem. The underground is a great way to get around Lisbon City "Read full review
