This studio appartment was perfect for our 6-night stay in Lisbon. The hotel was perfectly situated in one of the nicest areas of Lisbon in my opinion. The most important thing: the bed was very comfy and we slept well. We had everything we needed for our stay, and transport, restaurants and cafées just outside the door. The automatic reception was a challenge upon arrival, but that was the only downside.

A great location, close to the Castle and major sites. The apartment was clean, but amenities were lacking. Not enough cups or glasses, no dish soap or towels, and couldn’t figure out the stove. I would not recommend this place.

There was a party going on next door; we couldn't sleep at all. We complained to hotel staff but they did nothing. Afterwards they lied that we have not complained about the noise. If you want to sleep - don't book this one!

I was excited at being so close to the Castelo, with a tram stop at the door. The apartment building is a clever rejuvenation of an old building, one of several in the Hello group in Lisbon. Reception is centralised, relying on an electronic booth in each building, but the booth does not operate as intended and it took me almost an hour to check in. On most of the ten days I was there, I saw a group of frustrated people trying to check in. It seems there is only one person at the central service office and that person has to deal people trying to check in. with many different customers in different languages. My apartment was bright and clean, but if anything is missing, the only recourse is the central office that seems to be overloaded, and there is no-one to handle problems on the spot. Everything is left to the housekeepers, none of whom spoke English. When I told the office there was no dish towel, the answer was 'use the dishwasher'. There was no dishwasher detergent. Some of the cooking equipment had been abused. There was no corkscrew. Three dinner knives of different types. The TV connection was broken, and was not usable during my entire stay. Not the hotel's fault, but we were not able to use the tram most days because all the trams were packed full. There were two huge cruise ships in town, and it seemed many of the passengers were riding the old trams.

As much as this hotel is in an amazing area (Al Fama, the old town of Lisbon), it is ruined by the fact that you can get no sleep. There is no sound proofing of the apartments, so all of the noise from the street comes right through to your room...kiss sleep good bye. Lisbon is a major tourist destination so people are out to all hours of the night, to say nothing of the traffic over the cobblestones. Then there's the reception...or complete lack thereof. It is handled by a virtual machine, and I pity any tourists are less than tech savvy trying to organise their check in through this device. The lack reception really hampers your travel experience, as there is no assistance with tours, suggestions of places to visit, or even with something as simple as organising a cab. I have travelled to many countries around the world and have never given a one star rating, but I will say, categorically, do not stay here
