My family booked this B&B in Lisbon after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. While I knew we were in for a treat, I just couldn't help thinking that the real thing could not live up to all the positive reviews. I was wrong! Luis is a perfect host. We arrived on Sunday late afternoon, hot, tired and sweaty. Luis met...

Staying at the new Zuzabed Suite was a dream. Despite being warned by Luis about the taxi charges we still managed to get over-charged. We were met by Luis at the Zuzabed Suite and were immediately impressed by (a) the presentation of the apartment and (b) the friendly Luis. If you like the freedom of a city centre apartment this...

Zuzabed is the perfect base from which to explore Lisbon and the surrounding area. Luis is the perfect host - nothing is too much trouble for him - he even lent us his own camera when ours was lost/stolen! His attention to detail and the personal touch help you feel at home straight away. His suggestions and recommendations were all...

The owner/manager of Zuzabed , Luis, is a person who loves his job. He loves the people that visit Zuzabed and his goal is to make you love your stay at Zuzabed and Lisbon. All the little extras he throws into the mix to make your stay better are great, but the personal attention and involvement that he brings is...

Most of this has been said before- I agree with all the positive comments that I have read. To add a bit more-as we were making our way tothe hotel, just as we were walking down the steps, a friendly voice greeted us by name and Luis waved from the terrace. Then we were offered a glass of wine, and...

We loved the beautiful central location, and think Luis has created a very stylish, contemporary home from home. As vegetarians, we welcomed Luis' local restaurant recommendation, and also the Saturday flea market. Breakfast was good - informal, communal eating round the table, with Luis chatting away to guests - just remember to speak up if you would like a cooked...

Could a Bed and Breakfast turn out a city attraction itself? Yes it can. Everything from location to service and value makes Zuzabed THE place to stay in Lisbon, but what really makes this place top notch is the owner Luis. You couldnt ask for a better guy to run such a place and the hospitality added with the local...

My husband and I and two other couples ended our tour of Portugal in Lisbon and stayed with Luis at Zuza! We actually lived in Lisbon some years back and thought we knew the city but Luis brought a new lens to our view. His warmth and adoration for his city is lovely and infectious. The breakfasts were wonderful; good...

We loved this place, but especially its owner Luis, who is a paragon of hospitality. Book the larger room with terrace access and multiple views of Old Lisbon. Enjoy a breakfast worth the trip by itself, and the kind of exemplary service one usually finds in 5 star hotels. A perfect location in the heart of the city, five minutes...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
