Reviews often mention the hotel's clean and comfortable accommodations, though some have flagged minor concerns with room temperature control and shower design.

We had a 1-night stay here before an Early Morning flight and, despite the short amount of time here, it was a great experience!
There was plenty of space to temporarily park a vehicle in front of the hotel to drop off bags. We did this prior to returning our rental car, which worked out perfectly!
Upon checking-in, the front-desk staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The room itself was large, clean and had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom had a split shower and toilet, making it easier for getting ready in the morning for multiple people.
We ate at the restaurant for dinner, and it was quite good with reasonable prices. In addition, in the morning, the breakfast spread was phenomenal and it started at 4 AM for those with early morning flights.
There was a shuttle to the airport, but we opted to walk and it took all of 4 minutes to get there, which was much easier for us.
We'd definitely stay here again if needing an airport hotel in Lisbon!!

We did a day rate stay in June at the hotel after the misfortune of missing our flight from Lisbon to Manchester along with 12 other passengers (Lisbon airport was a nightmare the times we visited and that is quite unfortunate in itself as it largely services the country).
Once we realised we were stuck for 12 hours at the airport, my husband and I tossed around the idea of heading into the city to spend the day but I was not dressed appropriately and extremely tired. I found there were two hotels close by. Prices were similar but we liked the look of Meila a bit more.
This was the best decision.
Larussa/Laressa (spell check) was one of the best hotel front desk people I’ve dealt with in a long time.
We explained to her what had happened to us in general chit chat - and she showed so much empathy and sympathy and compassion, we instantly felt better! With just a few kind words! We were obviously feeling a bit devastated of having missed our flight but our encounter with this lovely lady made us feel so much better and lifted our moods.
We checked into our room a bit earlier (the day rate is from 9am-6pm from memory).
The room was a 5 minute walk from the airport, clean, comfortable and spacious.
We were able to have a shower, brush our teeth, nap and order room service - and prepare for our later flight (which we didn’t miss!).
Our room had cookies, tea and coffee facilities, and tv with a lot of channels.
Even if the room and hotel was a total dump, just the help of Larussa/Laressa, I would have rated it full marks — proving just how important the right staff are to a business.
From this experience alone, it has made me aware and open to future Melia hotels.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
As noted in most other reviews, the location of this hotel adjacent to the airport and shuttles running every 15 minutes are the major major benefits to this hotel. It also has an excellent breakfast buffet, and staff are very efficient and well-informed. The rooms are tight but efficient. However, location can be the biggest drawback if you want easy access to dining and sightseeing opportunities in the rest of the city. If staying more than one night associated with a late flight arrival or early morning departure I would consider another location.

Off the top: the best things about this hotel are the proximity to the airport, the well-appointed rooms and the kind staff. That said, everything else was so incompetent that we went from being upset to laughing - because, how bad can it be? Oh, wait, it gets worse!
Upon checking in we were given our room number which appeared clearly written. However, when we got to “our” room, the key didn’t work. There was a helpful cleaning person on the floor and she looked at our room card and agreed we were at the correct room. She offered to open the door for us, whereupon the person who was already in the room, opened the door to ask what we were doing. It was not our room. When we went back to the reception desk for an explanation, the clerk flippantly replied, “oh yes, I hear my ones look like twos. This is a one. “ Next we ordered room service. We were told 20 minutes. 45 minutes later when I called to inquire, they said there was a “processing problem” and the room service ticket didn’t get to the kitchen. They offered a free crème brûlée as compensation. 15 minutes later part of our order showed up at the door (as an aside, the creme brûlée appeared to be vanilla pudding with cinnamon sprinkled on top.). When I pointed out we had only received part of our order, the very amiable fellow apologized and went off to get the rest of our food. When he returned, he said no tip was necessary because it was their mistake. Fair enough. Finally, we went to the restaurant in the evening. We were seated promptly and given drinks. We then placed our food order and waited 30 minutes. When the food was served, it was not our order. Not even close. We ordered fish and salad and were served rabbit stew. The staff apologized and took the stew back, but said it would be another “wait”. we had a timeline due to a work meeting, and explained we now only had 15 minutes to wait for our order. The food did not arrive in time, so we left the restaurant to throw ourselves on the mercy of room service again. In the meantime, while waiting for our original order in the restaurant, we observed a lot of what appeared to be animosity between the kitchen and the waitstaff. I don’t know what was happening at this hotel but the kitchen staff seemed to be doing a lot of intentional standing around with hands on hips, while the waitstaff scurried about trying to appease customers.

We stayed at the Mélia Lisbo Aeroporto hotel, April 23 to April 25, 2024. The staff was accommodating, extremely helpful and courteous. However, we reserved a handicapped room for my husband with a roll in shower. The bathroom completely flooded from the shower. There was not a door or shower curtain. The floor of the shower was dangerously slippery. A member of the housekeeping staff mopped the bathroom floor and put towels down to absorb the water. It was extremely dangerous for my husband.

We stayed overnight at Hotel Melia at Lisbon Airport.
The location is perfect, next to the airport and metro.
The room is well air conditioned, the beds are a bit hard, but still comfortable.
Small negative, the cleanliness of the floor left a little to be desired.
The staff is friendly and very helpful.
You can get an early checkin for about sixty euros, but it’s still worth it.
The shuttle bus is very convenient to get to and from the airport at no cost.

As many have noted, this hotel is close to the airport, and is very convenient if you have an early flight the next day. The rooms are fine, nothing special, maybe in line with a room at Hyatt House. The restaurant is also decent, I had a Portuguese lamb stew there for about 22 euro that was pretty good.
The reason why I am giving this hotel 3 stars is because I feel that overall the staff leaves a lot to be desired. It's not that people were rude, but overall they did not seem very welcoming or well-trained. Overall, I got a strong feeling of indifference from all of the staff. As far as being well- trained-- for example, when the waitress in the restaurant handed me the bill, she held up the credit card reader near my face before I had a chance to even look at the bill. I asked her for a moment to look at the bill, and she didn't take the hint and continued to hold the reader near my face. It was a bit of rudeness that I have never encountered in my years of travel.
I know this is an airport hotel, and people come and go rapidly, and hospitality is perhaps less emphasized, but I would have appreciated a baseline level of graciousness that I feel guests deserve when they are paying a premium (this is one of the pricier airport hotels in the area).
The next time I pass through Lisboa, I'm going to try the Hotel Star Inn next door, because this hotel did not do enough to ensure my loyalty. Plus the Hotel Star Inn offers breakfast at an earlier hour!
To be fair, I did not use any of their amenities, and cannot comment on that front.

They gave me a room that had no hot water which they were aware of but didn’t tell me. I found out after I was already settled and getting ready for bed. They told me I could use the spa in the morning to shower, when I woke up and went down to the spa no one was there. I had to chase down someone to help me. By this time I was getting very stressed since I had a flight to catch. The reason I chose the hotel is because it was conveniently located close to the airport, I thought it would be less stressful for my morning flight. I strongly recommend staying somewhere else. In addition to blatantly selling me a room with no hot water, the mattress was so cheap I would have been grateful for an IKEA foam pad, and the toilet ran all night interrupting my sleep. I want to point out that I never write reviews and I am game for sleeping in a tent on long backpacking trips, I am no prima Dona, but to pay more money than I had for a single night of “sleep” than I had my whole time in Portugal only to be stressed out and disappointed, really rubbed me the wrong way.

After a long trip in Portugal, myself and friends stayed here the night before our flights back to the US and UK.
First of all, the location couldn't be better. It's easy to walk right to the airport terminal, in about 5 minutes. There's also a shuttle that is shared with the hotel next door...it's much faster to walk.
While we waited for our rooms, there was an excellent buffet-style lunch (they also have a breakfast buffet) that was very extensive and quite reasonably-priced. The service and friendliness in the restaurant was exceptional.
I loved the room! It had an airplane/travel theme and lots of nice touches (robes, slippers, both tea and coffee, room service, etc.). The room was very quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was interesting! It was an open space that could be divided from the room with a drape. There was a nice vanity, but the most unique aspects were the two frosted "cubes" one of which featured a great waterfall shower, and the other the toilet. Not the best for privacy, but as I mentioned the curtain can be drawn across the bathroom area if you're traveling with friends, etc.
By far the best hotel at LIS airport. Highly recommended, although some of the front desk staff could be a bit friendlier. However, it's a tough job. Regardless, I will be staying here again on my next trip to Portugal next year. It was nice to see an airport hotel with a bit of character!

Hi Jill, there's an onsite restaurant with Meditarrean fare called "Colinas de Lisboa", it closes at 11pm.
I'm positive your travel company has booked you a dinner at it, it should all be fine. By the way, your rate does surely include a buffet breakfast at this resort which is good.
Have a great stay and trip!.
