Since the moment I arrived in the hostel I realized I made the best decision booking in this hostel. The hospitality of the staff was just incredible and the welcome couldn't have been better. I would stand out the vibe of the hostel itself. It's one of these places you don't want to go out from it. Also, the breakfast...

With home-made waffles for breakfast, new friends, amazing decor and in-house cooking lessons this hostel could not be more perfect. I have enthusiastically recommended this hostel to all my friends and family traveling to the...

Stayed here with a group of friends from 16 til 23 january and enjoyed it everyday and plan to do it again next year because it was a very pleasant experience. The first good thing about the hostel is how easy it is to find, you just walk out of the restauradores subway station and in 1 minute you're inside the...

Just spent a great few days in Lisbon based at the Good Morning hostel. Friendly staff, good cycling and walking tours ,& excellent breakfast. Great mix of nationalities staying through. You might need ear plugs to cope with snorers!

This place is AMAZING. First, we were able to book the suite on the top floor. Very spacious room with a huge bathroom. Very cosy and compfy room with AC and a little balcony. Take into consideration that there is no elevator and a lot of stairs to get to it. The room is not facing the main street, and...

The best thing about the hostel is the location and the staff. Location is bang in the middle of Lisbon with all the major Lisbon must sees/restaurants within walking distance and very good connections to airport/Belem/other places you want to travel to. The staff is very friendly, helpful and make you feel at home. My only gripe is their double...

Goodmorning Hostel staff was so inviting and made me feel at home. It was super easy to meet people and made some great friends. The breakfast is amazing, free dinner was so good and the tours are fun and factual. I'd definitely recommend the Sintra tour with Duarte, I got to see a whole side of Portugal that the common...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
