This hotel is well situated for exploring the various districts of Lisbon, and is very handy for local restaurants, not forgetting Madame Petisca on the roof terrace - which is where breakfast is served. The breakfasts we had were really nice, fresh and continually replenished. The fresh orange juice was great, as was the espresso, and eggs cooked fresh to...

This is a nice Hotel which is located at one of the many spectacular viewpoints Lisbon has to offer. Our room was a good size and came with a bonus view across the Harbour. Staff were helpful and always friendly. Breakfast on the rooftop dining area was included and it was a spectacular view over Lisbon. Location is excellent, it...

After a great welcome from Joanna ( very informative and gave us a good map), we were shown our room on the second floor overlooking the water. The room itself was spotless and furnished with quirky bits of furniture, the en-suite was within the room and also very clean with delicious smelling toiletries. My only negative was that due to...

Great location providing you don't mind a bit of a Bohemian neighborhood, which I don't. Staff are outstanding. Pros: Location Staff Views Nice breakfast Cons: Overpowering perfume scent AWFUL sleeping pillows Television volume capped at such a low level that you cannot even hear the programming Refrigerator nice but does not get cold Surprised by the charge for in-room coffee

This hotel was hard to find. Once we arrived we parked the car. Lisbon is not an easy city to drive in. Our room was clean but average size. Some of the view was nice but we had to look past an old dilapitated building next to us. Staff was very friendly and helpful. the roof top deck was beautiful...

Great staff, nice clean rooms, excellent food, and a great location with a killer view! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was a great location to springboard all directions while staying in Lisbon. The restaurant view is hard to beat and at a minimum you should enjoy a drink there! Parking isn't completely convenient but a small price to...

Great check-in, excellent staff from front desk to housekeeping. They made our stay in Lisbon a memorable one. A great in-house rooftop restaurant which we had daily breakfast. Room was very small but comfortable and stylish. Overall a great hotel, excellent location and staff - highly recommend staying in the Shiadu hotels. Also did a walking tour a little more...

we stayed here for 1 night during a whistelstop visit to Lisbon. The hotel is well located next to a panoramic view point. The rooms were quite basic but well appointed and very clean. Lovely breakfast with views over the river. Special mention for both the reception staff who welcomed us and gave us lots of helpful tips on where...

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were variable in size and shape, but the beds comfortable and large. The toilet was very close to the shower in our room. The rooftop restaurant has glass walls and you can sit inside or outside on the terrace. Ideal in summer. Great views over the rooftops and down to the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Some say it has the best view of Lisbon! From our panoramic restaurant where breakfast is served every morning for our guests, you will not be indifferent to the Cristo Rei embracing Lisbon, the river Tagus [Tejo], the 25th of April Bridge with lights showing where the Atlantic Ocean begins and also the Basilica da Estrela that stands out between the rooftops of Lapa… However, the main feature of Monte Belvedere by Shiadu is not simply its amazing view! Its 13 rooms, some of which with a magnificent view of the river Tagus , have all the comfort you need for an unforgettable stay and our dedicated staff will welcome you, making you feel as if you were at home. Every day you will enjoy our delicious home-made breakfast prepared just for you! Near Monte Belvedere by Shiadu you will find the Northwind Statue [Estatua do Adamastor] (fictional character created by Luis de Camoes, in his master works The Lusiadas). The higher part of Santa Catarina is one of the most beautiful places of Lisbon and only two steps away from the city buzz. With views over the river Tagus it is said that since the 17th Century this plateau, once known as Monte do Pico or Monte Belvedere, is famous because of its lookout point. According to legend throughout the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, from here one could see the moving ships: this is why still today there is a proverbial saying that is: “Ver navios no Alto de Santa Catarina” [“Watching the ships from the top of Santa Catarina”). Follow your instinct and we will be waiting…. ... more   less
