I enjoyed this place. Clean rooms, great views, air-conditioning, nice shower, delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, quiet yet central location, friendly staff - scored on all fronts! Definitely recommended and I'd stay here again.

What can you say about this hotel? From being picked up from the airport to leaving the hotel after our stay we could not have been treat any better. The staff at the hotel were fantastic they could not do enough for us. Racquel was very pleasant and was brilliant in advising us on where to go and how to...

Pros: nice view from rooftop, breakfast was good and the room was comfortable Cons: location was not very close to restaurants especially while cold and raining. Their restaurant only had light tapas at dinner time, no actual meals. If you want just a cheese and meat plate, it would work, but a substantial meal could not be had. No way...

This hotel is a renovated home that has been made into a hotel. It is small, I think 14 rooms. The rooms are all unique and thoughtfully decorated. Our room had a spectacular view of the city. The restaurant on the top floor where breakfast was served also had a marvellous view of the city and the Douro river. It...

The staff are fantastic as is the restaurant. The hotel is small but it is a very good place to stay particularly if you want to see the old town. There may be bigger posher and more expensive hotels but I doubt they could be more friendly

Lisbon never ceases to amaze me. Each time we visit I wish that when I had just retired we had just up sticks and moved to this city. I find it buzzes under my feet, can 't explain. It's a feel good fact. In general Portugal makes me feel that way! The hotel we stayed at is part of the...

We only had one night here on our way to Madeira but what a find. From the moment you arrive you are treated as someone very special nothing is too much trouble. The room is very comfortable and quiet. The bed is very welcoming and comfortable. The restaurant on the third floor is excellent with gorgeous views . Very relaxing....

This hotel is situated right beside one of the many viewing points over Lisbon and has one of the best views of any hotel I've stayed in. The room was large and very comfortable. We were on the ground floor but still had a beautiful view. The hotel faces southwest so perfect for sunset. The breakfast was very nice, a...

My and my girlfriend spent 3 days in Lisbon for her birthday and we stayed at Monte Belvedere. Our room was nice and cozy, but the most outstanding characteristic of this place was represented by kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Raquel, Maria and Rita have been so nice to us. They organized a birthday breakfast surprise for my girlfriend...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Some say it has the best view of Lisbon! From our panoramic restaurant where breakfast is served every morning for our guests, you will not be indifferent to the Cristo Rei embracing Lisbon, the river Tagus [Tejo], the 25th of April Bridge with lights showing where the Atlantic Ocean begins and also the Basilica da Estrela that stands out between the rooftops of Lapa… However, the main feature of Monte Belvedere by Shiadu is not simply its amazing view! Its 13 rooms, some of which with a magnificent view of the river Tagus , have all the comfort you need for an unforgettable stay and our dedicated staff will welcome you, making you feel as if you were at home. Every day you will enjoy our delicious home-made breakfast prepared just for you! Near Monte Belvedere by Shiadu you will find the Northwind Statue [Estatua do Adamastor] (fictional character created by Luis de Camoes, in his master works The Lusiadas). The higher part of Santa Catarina is one of the most beautiful places of Lisbon and only two steps away from the city buzz. With views over the river Tagus it is said that since the 17th Century this plateau, once known as Monte do Pico or Monte Belvedere, is famous because of its lookout point. According to legend throughout the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, from here one could see the moving ships: this is why still today there is a proverbial saying that is: “Ver navios no Alto de Santa Catarina” [“Watching the ships from the top of Santa Catarina”). Follow your instinct and we will be waiting…. ... more   less
