Only reason it is a 4 stars is because it has a small pool on the roof with a nice view of the city. Rooms are run down, probably never fully renovated since hotel first opened. At most a 3 stars hotel, best for its central location in Lisbon, although adjacent neighbor of hotel is a legal aid-like center for...

The hotel is situated in the city center , so it's easy to each avery attraction. The swimming pool is very little, and the rooms are no so good been a 5 stars hotel.

This hotel looks good on paper, but in real life it's overpriced, outdated and very poor service. The bathroom is OK, but the depressing beds (with smelly blankets) and kitchen were old, dirty and cheap. We paid over a €100,- to stay here. The rooftop view and pool was the draw. But trust me it's not worth it. The pool...

Like many of the other reviews said, this hotel is in a great location. The metro is right outside, the airport bus drops you off right in front, and it is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. There is some type of civil service office next door to the hotel and during the week there is a line...

Great hotel in a great location and for the price we paid, I wasn't expecting it to be so nice. Lovely rooftop terrace with views across the city. Room was spotless and has all you'd require in a s/c apartment. I will definitely be returning to Lisbon and hopefully will be able to stay at this hotel again. Rather than...

In our many years taking city breaks, this hotel was by far our best choice. the hotel itself is clean and modern, efficient and unobtrusive staff, furniture and fittings are a little bit dated, but everything is in working order, spacious and bright. The only complaint my wife had was the lighting in the bathroom for make-up.. Go out the...

We have just returned from a hen do weekend staying at the VIP Eden Suites in Lisbon. We had 3 apartments between 10 people and overall were very pleased with the hotel choice. It was in a great location - central and well linked by trams, furni. We arrived at about 11am and were able to check into our rooms...

These apartments are located in a converted Cinema/Theatre in a good location. They are a no frills package but erring on the tired. However they are good value and the staff seemed very friendly.

Large clean room, nice reception staff, central location and great breakfast from a panoramic terrace for an extra 8,50 euro. The room did not have much apart from the basic equipment, but I did not spend much time in it.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
