The travel agents found us this hotel and I have only high praise for it. Lovely views, pool and so comfortable - decorated by vintage cinema posters. Good eatery nearby too, which the hotel recommended. Lisbon is great - very friendly and stylish. The tourist office advertised guided motor boat trips on the Tagus which I recommend too - very...

The Hotel is near the airport, very easy to get to with a taxi - only about 10 euro. Hotel is very basic, but great value for money. The location is amazing. Metro right outside the door. The rooftop pool is just lovely, amazing views of Lisbon.

The best things about this hotel are the location and the rooftop terrace. The rooms are not the most up-to-date, but we found ours to be comfortable and clean. The kitchenette was equipped with crockery and cooking equipment - even a teapot. We prepared our own breakfast and some light meals. The wifi was free and worked well. We stayed...

The hotel is a bit run down, but it was comfortable and in a great location. We had a bit of a view, but I would not select the hotel for that. We enjoyed our stay here and not bad for a big city. The breakfast was very good, but it was not included in the nightly rate.

Cracked ceiling, rusty bathroom facilities, broken elevator walls, stinking cigarette smell in a non-smoking room - I have had better experience in a 3 star hotels! The only good thing about this hotel is its location. Other than that the price is much too high and the facilities not worth it. We booked an apartment room with a kitchenet, which...

The location of this apartment hotel is great, walking distance to the old city and restaurants and shopping. The terrace is excellent, its mid-range and the room was very quiet the kitchenette is convenient for easy meals. Kay Feb. 2017

This is was a hidden diamond amongst the mid-priced accommodation in the heart of the old city. The room comes with a kitchenette and a fridge. The best is the roof teracce, fully equipped with THE Pool and and Bar. You can sit down and enjoy the great view. Rossio railway station is just around the corner, and a train...

The location is perfect. The aerobus stop by the hotel, and the shared shuttlebus from airport costs about 12 euros. The hotel itself is about outdated, and would need some renovations, but for our needs it was perfect. The reception staff were friendly, and helped us every time we asked something. The room (studio) was ok, beds were confortable. The...

This apartment hotel is in an ideal location for city breakers who want a couple of days in Lisbon's historic heart. It is ideal for disabled also as the access is good and there is flat access to pavement areas which continues on several street precinct areas with many shops, restaurant bars, extending right to the river mouth without a...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
