Hotel was perfectly located pretty much in the centre of Lisbon, not far from the lift. Hotel is close to number of metro stations, mainly Rossio which is where you’ll get off if you get the metro in from the airport.

Entrance to the hotel is down a side street so if you get a taxi in you’ll most likely be dropped off on the main road in the Praça Dom Pedro IV square but it’s a very short walk.

On entering the hotel, the welcome received was very friendly and the receptionist was welcoming and on arrival I was offered a glass of local port wine and a mini pasteis de nata (Portuguese delicacy - egg custard tart). She also offered to go through some sites that would be worth visiting. She was very in detail and spent about 20mins going through some great places to visit and eat so great if it’s your first time in Lisbon. The lobby area is very clean and modern with a fun but classy aesthetic (black and white, mint green and pinks). There is one lift which is reliable but can sometimes be waiting for it to arrive however there are stairs if you wish to walk up. Lifts go to the 4th floor only and if you’re in room 501 there’s one extra set of stairs to climb to reach it.

I was in room 406 which was facing the side street so not much of a view but that didn’t bother me too much. The opposite side will look out over the square. The room followed a similar aesthetic to the lobby with a giant cream scalloped headboard and the top of the walls and ceilings in a lovely green colour. In the room there is a coffee machine, a safe, a clothes hanging area with approx 10 hangers, and a mini bar. Drinks and snacks ranged between 2-4€. Room Service is also offered by scanning the QR code on one of the flyers on the bedside tables. I got myself a Chicken & Cheese Toastie for lunch on day of arrival and it was very nice and was only 6,50€. The bed itself was very comfortable. Pillows a little soft for my liking. The bathroom was also very clean and modern with an overhead shower as well as a handheld. Shower was powerful and heated up quick. Hairdryer provided but this is a standard hotel hairdryer so taking your own may be better.

Breakfast was served in the adjoining Los Chanetes. You’re offered a tea or coffee before being seated and there is a selection of cold drinks on offer (orange juice, mint lemonade and water) as well. For breakfast there was a decent spread of cured meats, traditional Portuguese pastries, bread as well as bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, beans and sausages (hot dog sausages) along with cereals, yogurt and fruit.

Was very surprised on finding out this was only rated as a 3 star hotel as it’s really good value for money for a well-reviewed, modern, central hotel. Will definitely stay here again when returning to Lisbon and will be recommending it going forward.

Checked in for 4 nights. Excellent location. No cars can access the front doors so if you take a taxi let them drop you off in front cafe walk around the corner from Burger King. Staff very friendly and helpful and we were also able to check in early. The hotel on a busy area but you don’t hear any noises at all. 24 hour staff reception and free wifi. You can purchase drinks around the corner and are allowed to put your own drinks in the fridge. There is also a safe in the room. I would stay here again.

Staff went above and beyond and were all so friendly! Location was perfect although the restaurants nearby are a bit touristy and it’s worth trekking further out to find better options. Our room was well sound-proofed - couldn’t hear any traffic or neighbours.

Hotel very well located in the center of Lisbon, entrance via a small street, Rossio metro station 6-7 minutes walk, bus station 2 minutes away. You can do many tours on foot. Very warm, smiling welcome in French from the young woman at reception, a small glass of wine and pastel de nata offered during arrival formalities. Elevator, small room on the 4th floor, clean, comfortable double bed, mini bar with paid content, coffee machine with 4 free capsules, small table, a chair, a stool, no storage. Full bathroom/toilet, clean, spacious shower. Breakfast in a small room with tightly packed tables, it feels more like a bar than a restaurant, moreover open on the Praça de Rossio. Average American/French breakfast for a 3 star (quality of pastries, average orange juice and coffee), ok for savory items, ok small pastries, nothing more than fruit whereas Portugal produces excellent ones.
Quiet hotel but this often depends more on the guests than on the hotel itself.
For our room which should have been at the lowest price, 1 to 3 nights is suitable but not for longer...

This is a charming boutique hotel in an excellent central location. The staff are friendly and helpful. We arrived early intending to drop off our bags and check in later. However, after a welcoming glass of port, we were told that our rooms were available if we wanted at no extra cost. This gave us the chance to freshen up after our flight which was very welcome. They also gave us a map of central Lisbon and pointed out some places to visit and eat. The en-suite rooms were comfortable and our superior room had a lovely view over Rossio Square up to the castle on the hill. There was a good range of cheeses, cold meat, pastries and bread for breakfast, with a more limited range of hot food. We were provided with a generous breakfast box on our last day as we had to depart before breakfast service started at 7:30. One of our party celebrated a birthday during our stay and we were delighted to find a birthday cake (with candles!) in her room in our return that afternoon - a nice touch. Overall, we could not fault this hotel and would happily recommend it.

I stayed at the Nicola Rossio during the first 3 nights of a solo trip to Lisbon in November of 2022. Everything about the hotel was as easy as could be. Staff were extremely helpful and understood and spoke English clearly. The room was not huge but had everything I needed including a small area to setup and use a laptop. The room had a modern decor and everything was in excellent condition.

The location is fabulous for exploring Lisbon just a few blocks from the Santa Justa elevator and surrounded by admittedly touristy but perfectly adequate restaurants. For such a centrally located and modern hotel the price was extremely reasonable. I will definitely be staying here again when I return to Lisbon!

The hotel is located close walking distance to both the Rossio Metro station and Rossio Train station. It is located on a side street with mostly foot traffic so it is much quieter than the nearby busy streets. The room felt so small I could not change my mind. Once I figured out how I could keep my luggage between one side of the bed and the wall, then the room was functional. This is a good safe hotel if you simply want to use it to sleep, shower and change clothes. I did not purchase the hotel breakfast as there are many more less expensive breakfast local shop options nearby.

Dear Mgwpilot, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are pleased to hear that you found our location convenient and enjoyed the peacefulness of the side street where we are located. We apologize that the room size did not meet your expectations. Our rooms are designed to be functional and provide all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. We understand that space can be a concern for some travelers, especially those with larger luggage. In these cases, we always recommend our guests to book our superior room category, which offers more space. We are glad to hear that you found our hotel safe and functional for your needs. So disappointed. Booked this hotel as the reviews were excellent. We had booked superior twin room, as travelling with my daughter. Unfortunately safety not the biggest priority. We were locked in the room as the handle would not work to exit: I got very upset and started to panic. Was told, upon raising my concern, to calm down and that these things happen.

Quite frankly, that is not good enough. It is a huge fire and safety issue. We were told the maintenance man from sister hotel would arrive shortly. When asked to move to another room, the very unhelpful receptionist said we could move to another hotel if we weren’t happy.

I can honestly say I have never experienced anything like this before, I travel on a regular basis and was shocked and hugely disappointed - from my point of view, safety is of paramount importance.

Lisbon hotels were very busy so we moved to what can only be described as a much smaller room in the hotel as it was late.

To add to the problems, the lift is very rickety to say the least and I was concerned it was going to break down a couple of times.

I would certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone but everything else regarding our trip to this amazing city was perfect.

The hotel is very well located with easy access to most touristic points in Lisbon and from those coming from the airport via public transportation. It is more like a 4 star hotel (definitely 5 compared to most hotels in London or Paris). The staff is very polite and accommodating. We had two rooms shared between my daughters and husband. They were very clean, though it could have been a bit less noisy. They charge 15 euros for breakfast, which considering this is Lisbon one is better off having breakfast outside for less. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to families.
