• The hotel itself is super stylish, but unfortunately it feels like it is a little more style then substance. The rooftop bar is beautiful and the food and drinks were great in both the rooftop bar and the restaurant downstairs.
• The breakfast was nice and had a lot of choice.
• The location of the hotel was great, and Ubers are super cheap in Lisbon so we were able to walk or get a 3 euro cab everywhere.
• The beds were comfy too.
Disliked -
• We were travelling in a party of 6 and I requested far in advance for the rooms to be near each other, upon check in they placed us on separate floors and didn't even apologise. It would have been appreciated for this to be communicated before we arrived.
• The majority of the staff weren't that friendly in the hotel and often when our party asked for something, it seemed like a lot of trouble. They had a launch for the rooftop bar during our stay and it seemed like that was all they were focused on, rather than customer service for the guests.
• The double rooms in the hotel were TINY and didn't have basic things like water, kettle/tea or coffee. For the price of the hotel, I expected to have separate shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/ moisturizer, but instead there was one bar of soap that they expected you to use for everything. Also, no robe/ slippers in the room.
• During our stay, the fire alarm went off at 4am due to a "fault' and the whole hotel was evacuated on the street. None of the staff communicated this, nor apologised, and we were left standing outside in our pyjamas for an hour. I appreciate this is a new hotel but they need to focus on training their staff properly for situations like this.
• The rooftop bar constantly ran out of basic things like wine. Again, probably due to the rooftop launch but the staff weren't apologetic.

I recently went with my wife to Lisbon for a weekend to meet up with friends and enjoy Portugal at its best.
We stayed at the Mama Shelter Lisbon, wanting to try this new and hip brand; we were not disappointed!
We had an incredible stay and highly recommend this trendy hotel.
The location is convenient, in the heart of Lisbon, close to shops, parcs & gardens, and great restaurants.
Walking distance to the waterfront, with gorgeous views!
The staff is awesome; very international, professional and helpful; they proactively offer to help.
Fabio and Gina at the front desk went above and beyond, thanks guys!
The lobby is small but smartly designed to keep it functional, and the decor is stylish. I love the Mama Shelter brand store, with some fun gifts and fashionable products.
My wife and i were impressed with the quality of products in the room; from the linen was very comfortable, to even the toilet paper !!! We loved the bathroom tile matching the rooms carpet.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is the higHlight of our stay; from the decor, the lighting, the music and the food, we completely disconnected, and felt on vacation! The pizza is one of the best i have ever tasted, i recommend it even to locals.
On sunday we stayed for brunch, enjoyed a variety of dishes full of flavors such as a tuna salad or steak tartar. A delicious meal before flying back home.
One thing we loved doing throughout our stay is to take selfies everywhere around the hotel; on the rooftop, in the elevator, in the bathrooms, in the restaurants; it is so much fun; we really lived the brand and culture of Mama Shelter!
We are hooked, and will come back! We are Mama!!!!
One recommendation to anyone staying at Mama Shelter Lisbon, disconnect and enjoy!!!!

We chose the hotel because of its central location in Lisbon and relatively fair pricing. The rooms were very fresh (since the hotel is very new) and we enjoyed the overall cleanliness of the hotel. We never tried their restaurant but it has received good reviews and seemed to have a good atmosphere with a lot of non-hotel guests visiting it along with the rooftop bar.
The negative aspects of the hotel would be the weird cleaning hours, one day we got back for a short break before dinner (at around 16:00) and the cleaners were knocking on the door asking if they could clean (they always seemed to clean in the afternoon). The hotel was also very inflexible in terms of check in, which wasn’t an issue for us since you can leave your bags and walk around the city prior to checking in, but it’s worth a heads-up. They also took a very large deposit of €50 per day.
Overall I would recommend the hotel for the prices we booked it at.

We booked to stay in Mama Shelter for our honeymoon in Lisbon. We booked months in advance via Expedia and a day before we were due to check in we were informed Mama Shelter would no longer be able to honour our booking. We had no explanation why and had less than 24-hours to find another hotel.

Overall, a good hotel with a fun vibe and in a relatively good location in Lisbon.
I have gold status with ALL Accor Live Limitless but this wasn't recognised when I checked in nor when I checked out. I didn't receive any benefits of my status unless the benefits were a couple of small bottles of water and some cookies.
When I arrived late on a Thursday night, the restaurant/bar/breakfast finish area had a DJ playing loud dance music. I loved this but others won't.
I had a medium room on the 6th floor which was big enough for 1 person for a couple of nights and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but functional and was fine. If you are a couple and staying more than a couple of night, pay extra and get a a large room. Also, avoid the 8th floor as this is the floor you need for the rooftop bar.
Guests share the rooftop bar with the public and share the lifts to get to the 8th floor. I love a rooftop bar and Mama's is a great space to chill and have fun. Staff were friendly but not very attentive (I was sat at the bar) so I had to wait a while to be served while others at tables were served more quickly.
Breakfast was of good quality and variety. I was greedy and had 3 or 4 courses each morning. There was only one coffee machine which meant a long line of people waiting for coffee every morning.
The location is good for PrÃncipe Real but other locations are a good walk down the hill. The hotel is easy to get to from the airport and the Rato metro stop is a short walk away.

Let's say that the hotel is very....instagrammable...the bedding is excellent...it's nice to have a drink on the rooftop (even if the cocktails...Aren't great....at least the two that I tried...even if they are also very "instagrammable).
What to blame then? An elevator broken down for the entire duration of a 5-night stay...for an 8-story hotel...let's just say it's annoying...we happened to wait well over 5 minutes... ..
A hot water outage for a whole day and the following morning...when we spoke to reception, they said they were aware, that they would fix the problem....but couldn't say when .... after having tramped all day, not being able to take a shower is.... average....
Breakfast seems very expensive for what it is...well, we were not used to the Bessahotel in Porto where it was just perfect with fresh, excellent quality products, different kinds of bread with different kinds of flour which could be suitable in particular for people eating low ig...at the mama shelter, nothing of the sort...essentially industrial....
Otherwise....cleaning is done to a minimum...in fact the beds are made but it is certain that the vacuum cleaner was not vacuumed during the entire stay...
The maid came in without warning...it could have been embarrassing.....
A mixed opinion so...you will understand

The room was tiny, impossible to leave his suitcase open and impossible to store his clothes, since there is no storage available, except to hang 4 shirts.
The shower smelled mouldy, with mouldy stains between the tiles, this mouldy smell extends into the tiny room obviously. The faucet/washbasin is a very bad choice, you splash the wall while washing your hands and brushing your teeth is a chore.
The choice of "bread" for breakfast is really ridiculous.
However, the breakfast team is really a great team.

I recently stayed here during a family getaway with my siblings. We loved everything about our stay. The location was perfect. The rooms are spacious and well laid out with very comfortable beds and high quality linens m. The breakfast was excellent with a large selection of fresh fruit, baked goods, a variety of cheeses and meats along with bread eggs. The rooftop is very cool with excellent views of the city. Most of all the staff at Mama’s is incredible. They are so friendly, positive and deliver outstanding customer service. I would highly recommend a stay at Mama’s.

We had such a wonderful time at the Mama Shelter Lisboa. Staff was super helpful. We enjoyed the chic/hip/decontracted atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable and the linen really soft. I loved the bedroom carpet that matched the bathroom tiles! Great touch. I liked the smell of the body lotion.
We also really enjoyed the warm and delicious pizza that are done in front of you at the entrance of the bar.
We'll definitely come back!

Really cordial welcome. Modern room, clean, comfortable with a nice strong terrace. Small fridge in the room. Very good bedding. Quiet room. Extraordinary Rooftop. Not in the hyper center but very close to the main avenue Libertad with shops. 20 minutes walk from Barrio Alto. Near the botanical garden and garden Estrala. Great location to discover Street art LX Factory area by Metro bus close to go to chiado in the center. Bus lines nearby to get to Barrio Alto too.
Tip: take the day pass for transport (bus, metro and tram) for 8 euros because the walk is very sporty in Lisbon and this pass gives you access to the St Justa elevator which normally costs 6€. Near Estrala Park there are small traditional restaurants with very tasty cuisine with unbeatable Awards with 0 tourists including Leitaria Suadade. Excellent location to see trams passing.
