Brown's Downtown Hotel is the coolest hotel in Lisbon downtown. Staying in our hotel means to undergo singular sensations. The building dates from the XVIII century, but is completely rebuilt with contemporary lines and materials. The lobby combines pieces of well-known designers, good music and an informal reception. Trendy rooms, equipped with up-to-date technology. Brown's Downtown is design. Brown's Downtown is hi-tech.

Exellent hotel, very very clean, best location, close to all main sites in a walking distance , close to main avenue and to all the restaurants and cafes.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. It has a very trendy design and our room had the most comfiest bed. Also had a nespresso machine and fridge. You can't beat the location, it's really close to everything you need, and not far to most central things you will want to visit. Really close to the metro which made the journey to and from the airport easy. The staff are really friendly, while booking I asked if there would be soya milk at breakfast as we are vegan. But at breakfast we were also given little extras that we didn't expect, such as vegan cheese and yogurt. I've never experienced this special service at a hotel before, thank you. Breakfast is served a few metres down the street at a sister hotel, which is no problem, and we also were given a welcome drink at the other one around the corner. Both also looked lovely. Also made use of the water cooler in reception as you can fill up your bottle before you go out instead of buying plastic bottles.

The location was excellent -- walking distance of the River, Alfama, Baixa/Chiado, Bario alto and other central neighborhoods. I usually take an airbnb but the room had enough space (they have different size rooms) for one person and a coffee machine, teakettle and refrigerator. Besides the location, the staff were all excellent especially Diego and Luanna who gave great recommendations for all of my questions including telling me where to get a free coronavirus test. It was also great to have the room cleaned well every day with sheets and towels changed especially during Coronavirus. Great place to stay in the center

I was disappointed with this hotel, unfortunately we found it noisy and difficult to sleep. There was noise from upstairs which can’t always be helped in old buildings but the most frustrating thing was the fact the cleaners were extremely noisy every morning slamming doors and making unnecessary noises. There was also a very strong smell of drains in our room which was really unpleasant. We asked to move rooms due to noise and found the smell of drains in both rooms. We also paid for a larger room but this wasn’t fulfilled when we needed to move due to noise. The reception staff were friendly and the hotel was in a great location with nice interiors however these things aren’t as important as a good nights sleep for us!

We found this hotel on booking.com, then booked direct as I could get a superior room plus breakfast than the price of a small room on booking.com.

We took an Uber from the airport to the hotel and this cost us €8.92.

We included breakfast and I’m really glad because it was completely worth it. Browns Downtown has 2 sister hotels, these are Browns Boutique and then Browns central. We had evening drinks most nights in browns boutique, because we absolutely loved the vibe, plus you get 10% off all drinks. Breakfast is served in Browns central, again we loved this because it felt like we headed out for breakfast and the choice was great.

The location of this hotel is very central and it’s so easy to access most of the main attractions on foot from here. If needed there is a metro only a 5 minute walk away, however the Ubers in Lisbon are very cheap so we stuck to that for transport when needed.

All the staff work incredibly hard and made our stay very special! We will definitely be back one day!

This modern hotel has an artsy vibe, and is located on a quiet street very close to the main pedestrian street in the Baixa. Our Uber was able to drop us off right in front of the hotel. There is an elevator so you don’t have to carry luggage up the stairs. The staff spoke English so we had no problems communicating. There’s a TV with Netflix. Our breakfast was included and we only had to walk a block away to another Brown’s hotel for a really good hot breakfast that included lots of variety including fresh fruit and self-serve coffee. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything needed for a pleasant stay of several nights. The hotel is in a terrific location, within walking distance of many shops, cafes and restaurants and yet we still found it to be very quiet at night. It’s a two or three minute walk to the closest Metro station and escalator to the Chiado district. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Reception area is cool looking, those that worked the reception area were very nice, thanks.
The room was well appointed, and exactly what we needed.
Breakfast is a few steps away, and they catered for our vegan requirements (which we mentioned upon booking) with cheeses, baps and yoghurts, as well as a small handful of other things at the buffet.
All in all a great hotel and i wouldn't hesitate in recommending or staying again.

From the moment of our arrival we just knew that this was going to be a great experience. The receptionist was friendly, welcoming and very efficient. Her male colleague was also helpful and knowledgeable.

Our bedrooms were very well presented, with a lot of desirable features. I especially appreciated the Bluetooth speaker (superior rooms) as I could relax whilst listening to my favourite music. The beds are ultra comfortable and a good night's sleep is guaranteed. The Housekeeping staff do a wonderful job in keeping the rooms clean and refreshed.

Breakfast is served at a sister hotel which is just a short walk down the street. There is an excellent choice of foods on offer and once again, the staff and courteous and attentive.

Should I return to Lisbon (and I sincerely hope that I do) I would only want to stay at this hotel. Lisbon is a beautiful city and its people are so welcoming. The staff at the hotel are great ambassadors for their city.

A lovely hotel in the city center
The hotel is relatively new, very convenient to access anywhere in the city. The beds and rooms are very comfortable, a welcome drink is served at a nearby hotel and breakfast is served at another hotel right next door.
The price of the hotel is very convenient for a short trip to the city
recommended

We stayed 4 nights here before departing for Porto as part of my partners 60th birthday.
Room was spacious and comfortable and had everything we both needed
It is also in an ideal area close to all the sights you need to see and with cafes and restaurants close by.
The staff were amazing throughout our stay
Marta and Rafa were so helpful and highly knowledgeable about Lisbon and a big shout out to the other staff on duty too

We even managed to get into a Fado evening courtesy of Rafa who organised the slot

We also had a welcome drink at Browns further up the road. The drink was devised by staff working there. All we can say is that was unbelievably good so go we went back for more

We will definitely come back to this hotel as the service and generosity of all staff was superb
Obrigado

The hotel is city centre and doesn't have any "outdoor space" really, so I'd say no to bringing young children. You walk straight out onto the very busy street.

A bus from the airport to the Rossio train station is 2 euro, and it is a short walk from there to the hotel. A taxi to the cruise terminal can't cost very much.

Is there car parking in hotel or in close proximity
Answer from Brown's | Avenue
Lisbon, Portugal3 contributions
Dear Vicki A, Parking in the historical downtown area of Lisbon can be tricky. Most of the streets are only for residents and parking can be very difficult to find. The hotel does not have car park and the hotel street car park is only allowed for residents However there are some underground car parkings in the area. Please check the full info of places and prices in parkopedia website. Kind regards from Lisboa
