When I arrived at the hotel a crowd of Chinese tourists was coming out. After they dispersed a friendly porter called Nelson took my suitcase and showed me to reception where I was warmly welcomed by Telmo who looked after me throughout my stay.

Being a gold member I got an upgrade from a 25m2 superior room to a 28m2 luxury room which was great as when I peeked inside a superior room I saw that it was really small. My room was at the end of the corridor so had extra space which made a difference. I also liked the special gold key card holder for gold members.

There were two armchairs with footstools (sorely missed during my recent stay at the Sofitel in Abu Dhabi) on either side of an oval table which had a flower, a welcome note and some cakes on it which was a nice touch. There was also a free bottle of water on each side of the bed and the minibar was well stocked.

The bathroom had a walk-in shower. The overhead rain shower was on the side with the glass panel but the normal shower was on the open side so water goes everywhere when you have a shower so they should probably add a shower door.

As everyone has mentioned the exercise room on the lower ground floor is tiny with a Technogym treadmill, upright bike, seated bike a Unica multi-station and a few light barbells. However, the hotel will sell you a voucher for €15 to use a nearby gym and pool and apparently they are planning on doing some renovations soon so hopefully there will soon be a better gym.

On the first night I had dinner in the hotel restaurant AdLib. The menu was limited but the food and service were good. I had lunch there the second day and there was a good value tasty lunch menu at €18 for 2 courses and €22 for 3 courses. I had a free drink in the bar with my gold member voucher and the barman made me an excellent gin and tonic with some extra ingredients.

The second evening I had an amazing dinner at 100 Maneiras in the old town and when I got back I was told that Telmo had organized another free cocktail for me in the hotel bar which was really nice of him. It's because of staff like him that I love to stay at the Sofitel as they always make you feel special.

My wife and I just spent 6 nights at the Sofitel Lisbon and we were very impressed. They recognized my Diamond status and provided us with a great upgrade to a Junior suite which was much appreciated. The hotel is located in great location, walking distance to all of the major sites of Lisbon and very close to great restaurants. The service was very professional and attentive. We would encourage visiting some of the great restaurants in the area, beautiful fish and affordable. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Arrived on a Monday morning around 10:30 and was able to check in right away. Rooms are a decent size, remember this is Europe. There’s a wardrobe closet, no dresser. The beds are so comfortable. The breakfast buffet included so many items-bread, fruit, meat, hot and cold cereal, juice, yogurt, pastries, eggs, potatoes, sausages, mini croquettes, you get the idea. The location is perfectly situated on the main avenue and walking distance from many attractions.

The staff were amazing!!! Granted they were doing their job, but they made me feel like I was their only hotel guest and gave suggestions to restaurants and tours, and even a short lesson in the Portuguese language. We were always greeted with a smile when returning to the hotel.

There are only two items that I found “different”. (1) the shower doors don’t extend the length of the shower and there wasn’t an exhaust fan, (2) getting the temperature right in the room was a bit tricky. None of those would prevent me from staying there again.

Stayed at this hotel as part of a concert package for one night. Hermes soap and body products are provided and free coffee/tea/water are available and a good (but expensive) mini-bar is in the room. Hotel also provides turn down service and the beds are comfortable. Good central location in Lisbon and the staff are friendly.

The main issue was the lack of detail to the cleanliness (hairs left in bathroom) and the attention to detail. Bathrobes were provided but they were tired and grey. Upon opening my robe someone’s t-shirt fell to the floor. Not sure if it’s the cleaner’s or a previous guest had forgotten it.

Electrical outlets were in weird places and many did not work. Bose speaker system was provided but you will need an adapter to charge/play any modern iPhone/Android.

Ordered room service but the food wasn’t great and my sandwich was served with withered lettuce and was tasteless. In room beverages are extortionately priced so I would recommend going to one of the many great local shops for any wine/snacks/alcohol if you would like to consume anything in your room.

Would recommend this hotel but it isn’t cheap and doesn’t have the level of quality that you would be expect from a 5 Star hotel in such a great European city.

We had four rooms booked in Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade, however due to a positive covid test half our party was not able to join and we only needed 2 of the rooms. Most hotels and airlines have been very flexible and accommodating through this covid time and will either cancel or provide a voucher for future stay. Sofitel was not flexible and charged us for all four rooms. They require a 48 cancellation fee, however, this doesn't work if you get a last minute positive covid test.
I do however, have to to give 5 starts to Andre, who provided us excellent care and guidance on where to go in Lisbon and booking of restaurants. The front desk had a couple small suggestions, but wanted to quickly get us checked in. Andre stepped in and provided great recommendations, booked dinner reservations last minute on New Years Eve and made sure we always had what we needed. Andre represents the right type of superior customer service.

We are Accor Diamond members and had stayed in all the different hotels the brand offers except their flagship Sofitel, so we were looking forward to our stay in this one. We had good and not so good stays in Ibis, Adagio, Mercure, and M Gallery around Europe and the UK. Sadly this was not the stay we expected in a 5 star luxury hotel. Although our room was clean and spacious, there were several issue with the room. The sink did not drain properly and took a long time for it to empty, then the toilet leaked constantly, so the tank was always filling up. The walls seemed to be paper thing because the people next door had a dog with them and we could hear it bark and cry all night long. Every time someone made tea or coffee next door, it would trip the power switch in our room, so we had to call the front desk in the dark to come reset it. The mattress in our bed was so worn that is was hard to get out of bed because the mattress sank in the middle. Extremely uncomfortable beds. The hotel has 3 elevators and only one works properly. The one on the right works well, the one in the middle has a door that doesn’t close, and the one on the left has a door that doesn’t open. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but the hotel need a better maintenance manager or new management altogether. We ate at the restaurant once and found it to be highly overpriced, so we did not return. The location is very good as it is close to most places of interest except Belem, but we took an Uber to Belem and solved that problem. We have stayed in several luxury (5 star) hotels, and this one does not compare well at all. We will return to Lisbon, but will not stay here.

I had a horrible experience at Sofitel Lisboa 👎🏼 I had 3 different stays at Sofitel Lisboa throughout my trip in Portugal. There were so many unnecessary extra charges upon check in aside from the amount you paid for booking the room. The rooms were extremely small and unsanitary. The AC wouldn’t work and the windows are locked so you can’t even get fresh air. The staff would not help us with our bags even if we asked for help. They wouldn’t store our bags for the time we were away even if we were returning to the hotel. I never experienced anything like this in a 5 star hotel. When I have different stops during travel every hotel I’ve stayed at was extremely welcoming and they all accepted storing my bags even if I wouldn’t return for another stay at the hotel later. The service is awful. If I try to call concierge or the reception, I would have to wait for the phone to ring about 15 times until they answer. A 5 star hotel should not and would not let the phone ring more than 2 rings before helping out. The breakfast is very limited and tastes very bland. I thought everyone was facing what I was but it was very strange that I could see how different they approached other guests who are by no coincidence all white Europeans. They were clearly going the extra mile for them and making sure they were being satisfied but disregard my group of muslim arabs completely. I was not given even half of the treatment I saw the other get from them. It’s 2022 and people are still racially profiling groups. These are not the standards of a 5 star hotel. It’s an embarrassment of a hotel and is obviously not ready to welcome large groups or diverse guests. There’s a lot of work and catching up to do with this hotel.

We spent five nights here for tourism/sightseeing. I chose the Sofitel based on availability and the reviews here and elsewhere, and it did not disappoint. Staff were very helpful and always ready to assist. We arrived from our overseas flight and had hoped for an early check-in but alas our room was not ready, so we had to kill some time. We stayed in one of the Prestige suites on an upper floor, facing the rear/back street and the small park nearby. The room was clean and comfortable, furnished with a sofabed, stocked minibar (with room for your own essentials), tea kettle, coffemaker, umbrella, and a desk and extra chair. The sofabed is long enough though that if you just wanted to lay or sleep on it, the average adult (say 5'10" or 5'11") could lay on it just fine. The room also had a nice balcony with a table and chairs. I was overjoyed at the soundproofing since I am a light sleeper. I barely heard any noise except for the occasional noisy motor from a car or two, but it was muffled and didn't bother me. I imagine rooms in the front would be similarly quiet although it faces the main avenue. One day we did hear a neighbor in their bath/shower but other than that it was wonderfully quiet. Breakfast was adequate though I don't know if it is worth the cost to pay for the buffet since the dining area is small and I felt like the options were kind of limited. They do have an a la carte menu so that might be a better value. We didn't have any other meals so I can't comment on the restaurant. The hotel is just a short walk outside of the more "happening" areas like Barrio Alto but it's in a great, quiet location. Minor quibbles were that the bathroom doors were small french door style (one set of doors to the bedroom and the living area) and there was a crack between where the doors meet, so you don't get complete privacy. This is something to consider depending on who you travel with. Despite this the bathroom was nice and full of extra amenities if needed. Also, there are no fun 'extras' in the hotel like a rooftop or pool, except the bar, but for me it was a tradeoff of having a quiet place to unwind and sleep, plus a comfy room and bed. The mattress we had also probably could use a replacement but it was still comfortable. We tried JNcQUOI across the way (eat at the lower level bar - no reservations) and Atalho Real nearby - both were great. I would stay here if ever in Lisbon again.

From our arrival all the hotel team were friendly and very helpful. Checkin was quick after a quick drink in the bar we made our way to our pretty pleasant room it was a reasonable size with a huge bed (for Europe) The bathroom appeared to have been recently refurbished and was listed out to a high standard and the wife was very impressed with the toiletries supplied.
We were on the first floor rear of the building while reasonably quiet overall did get some refuse bin action on a couple of early mornings.
Breakfast buffet covered all the major food groups cannot personally recommend the plunger coffee supplied but the on request latte is drinkable, we didn’t try the a la carte menu so cannot comment sorry.
We found the hotel ideally situated to explore the city literally 15m from the nearest Metro station and only 15 minutes walk from the waterside with a vast selection of eating places in between, the hotel is on a main boulevard with plenty of high end shops around if that’s what you fancy but plenty of side streets with lesser wallet challenging stores around.
All in all we found the hotel made a very pleasant base to enjoy another bit of Portugal.

We recently checked out from Sofitel in Lisbon. Our experience was awful from the very start. Our receptionist who checked us in was so rude. When giving her our passports she turned back to me and said you’ve only booked one person. I was confused as we had booked for two. She charged us extra €60 totally to €550 for two nights.
We recently stayed in Sofitel Le Scribe and we’re so impressed we wanted to remain loyal and go back.
Our room wasn’t ready so she offered us a drink and said it would be an hour. We sat there for 1.5 hours and decided to check if the room was ready and the concierge said yes it is and gave our keys.. the receptionist ran over as she had forgotten about us
We went to our room and it had not been inspected or cleaned.
The bed had pubic hair on it, the room stank, there was dust and dirt and stains all over the counters.
We went down and Inis kindly looked after us. We would of left if it wasn’t for her.
The amenities in our new room were used and opened but honestly we didn’t care we were fed up.
On the Sunday we went to go for breakfast and the lady didn’t make us aware we were not included the receptionist had told us we were. We just double checked before ordering and they said we weren’t. That’s fine but it was an expensive rate for the quality of the hotel.
Inis again offered us a late check out to 1 and a free drink (which we never received)
On checkout the receptionist said ‘are you an employee as your rate is cheap’
We said no we’re friends and family. We only had received 10% off the rate which is not huge and I don’t understand the judgement on their part. It came across rude.
I had also emailed the hotel regarding celebrating my birthday this month and I left it in the booking. Nothing was done to make it special.
Honestly this was the most disappointing 5 star stays we’ve had especially after Le Scribe
We will not be coming back.
Advice stay in Corinthea or Tivoli Hotels.

I do not recall this hotel having accessible bathrooms e.g. roll-in showers. For the rest, it's a modern building and everything is accessible by lifts or stepless routes.

Hello there, Yes, rooms have coffee machines, which can also be used to boil water for tea. However, and surprisingly as it may seem for an alleged 5 star hotel, they don't offer you the bottled water to be boiled - stupid and stingy, isn't it?? Please read my very detailed review about the hotel and how it disappoints guests expecting a 5-star one, cheers, Vítor
