Stayed here recently on a weekend break and it's great value. The hotel rooms are basic and small but everything works and the bathrooms are good and the beds comfortable. The breakfast room does get crowded true but there's plenty of places to go elsewhere if you want to skip that. The staff are all polite and the rooms cleaned...

This hotel is perfect ! City centre location. Clean and tidy. Modern. Cheap as chips. You won't regret it. I'm leaving tomorrow and already considering my return - I have no regrets and neither will you !! Get the number one aerobus from Lisbon airport - it stops outside ! Costs about 3 euros each ! Don't book a transfer...

We stayed here for 5 nights. Quiet street but near a lovely square with lots of bars etc. We arrived very late at 1am, checked in efficiently and went to the room. I went down stairs back to reception to ask for bottled water and was told no. I was directed to a bar in the square. Sorry but I...

Quiet street in the middle of it all. Easy access from the airport (we took the bus to Restauradores). Within walking distance from everything. Sweet and helpful staff. Clean and good sized rooms with comfortable beds and aircondition.

I was a little apprehensive in booking the Turim Restauradores after reading some of the negative reviews but the room rate was too tempting and for the location it couldn't be beaten so I took the plunge and booked 4 nights. I shouldn't have worried, we had a great stay! The room was spacious enough and had everything we needed...

Spent 6 days in the Azores, absolutely great in ponta Delgada, flew back to Lisbon, back to REALITY, hotel is very central BUT no bar in hotel they said it's being renovated BUT I read a review 8 months ago saying it's being renovated so? Polite staff but being central hotel it's prone to very noisy nights, nite club nearby...

We arrived for a four night stay after dark and first impressions of the hotel exterior and road it is on were not great, inside however we found clean modern and bright interiors. Reception staff were efficient but not friendly, our room had everything we needed including a coded free to use safe which is always a bonus. Shower cubicle...

A very good hotel in Lisbon and very well located. From here you can start in every direction to explore the city. Everything was clean and the room very spacious and modern. The only thing to criticize is the breakfast room. It was very small and very crowded in the morning and they have a restaurant next door which they...

This hotel was perfectly placed for the shops, the castle, transport and restaurants alike. Although a little noisy with the trams when the window was open we found this a novelty and did not effect our stay in the slightest. We had good wifi connection and the room was kept clean and well serviced throughout the 4 night stay. This...

Located just off the main street, quite a steep short walk, it is ideal base for viewing Lisbon and is just a short walk to the tour bus stop. We were there in early June and breakfast was ok but a bit chaotic, didn't seem to be enough tables. Friendly reception staff but WiFi would not work on the fifth...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
