Don't be fooled by the photos. My room was nothing like it. The room is as small as a shoe box, more than tiny by all means. I've been travelling in Europe for over 10 years staying in over 30 accommodations from B&B, guest house to villa/resort & 5 stars hotel. I've never seen something so small. There's no space...

Stayed there as part of a congress. The rooms were very minimalist. My aid con broke down and I boiled! For breakfast there were only 4 egg cups and so it was a dash for the egg cups every morning. Free wifi signal is poor. Oval a very expensive youth hostel, no better

Location was excellent, breakfast good, room clean, nice design room with big bed (superior) and 3 windows (!!). Lot of day's light and nice view. ps: nothing really to complain, especially since we were already "warned" by other reviews. We booked a superior room and - at first - they wanted to gave us a standard room (..with smaller bed..):...

This hotel has everything you need for a pleasant stay in Lisbon. From the airport you can catch the Aerobus to the Restauradores stop and walk to the hotel from there. Rooms were small with even smaller bathrooms, but there were nicely decorated and comfortable. The only complaint we had was that there was no shower curtain or door so...

The best thing about this hotel is location, right in the center of Lisbon. And here the pros end. The hotel rooms are very small - we had a superior room and I can't imagine how regular rooms look like. Cheap decoration (no wardrobe, small table, only one chair, no doors in the shower - I would hardly call it...

The hotel is well located, right in the center of lisbon, only a few minutes walk to the river and sorrounded by inumerous interest points. It is ideal for a quick visit to the city, and it also stands out by it's unnusual decoration and colours. The only minus was the brekfeast, wich could have some more veriety of choice.

I had booked a "superior" room but "there was a problem" (undefined) so we got a standard room for 10 Euros less. The room was cozy but comfortable. It was short on electrical outlets, there's no mirror in the bathroom (cool guys don't shave?) and you have to close the heavy wooden shutters at night to block the street noise...

Before booking this hotel, we were aware of all the complaints presented by the other travellers: noise, size of the rooms, lack of room facilities... But we decided to risk and I am glad we did. The location may not be the most charming in Lisbon but definately it is the most handful. A few steps from the Restauradores subway...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
