The location of this hotel is far from historic center but 10 minutes walking to the nearest Alameda metro, but first the walking distance to the Alameda metro station is not to closed. Then get off in Rossio metro station and walk in historic center. Then going back the same and going up the hill is not easy as they say. The hotel cleaning was fine. The staff too. Breakfast so so, not for the price of 9 euros p/p. Now the noise from next door rooms was horrible, no respect to anyone and beds not as comfortable. The are does not look to safe, but is ok. Just be early at the hotel.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best service you can expect. My girlfriend and I booked the romantic experience, thinking we would be greeted by roses and chocolate the first day, and have a nice view. We did, but the romantic greeting continued throughout our stay, which was way above our expectation.

All staff we talked to was extremely welcoming, and did all they could to accommodate everything.

Only downside was that the room we stayed in was bit small, but we did also book the smallest size available, so that's on us.

The room was fine, check-in was simple and the concierge was friendly. The only problem was being on the first floor, next to the lounge. It is open 24 hours and noisy. Make sure to not book the first floor.

I had booked the room with the hotel directly instead of making the reservation via Booking or other websites to help the hotel save unnecessary fees (the price was the same). My flight was cancelled due to coronavirus, and I planned to stay a second night and made the reservation directly at the hotel. My next flight was cancelled as well and I had to leave the hotel at 9am and told the manager that I did an earlier checkout because we would try to leave the country by other means. We therefore left the hotel at 9am and did not make use of the second night, even though informing in advance.. The hotel refused to refund the money of the second night. A behaviour that is not understandable in the current times where all airlines, hotels and intermediates refund tourists.

this is a terrible hotel!!! Terrible staff, terrible customer service! instead of a double room, we got a room the size of a closet! The hotel staff refused to solve this problem and did not explain why this happened! a night in the hotel cost 160 €, the hotel refused to refund the money and refused to solve our problem! we didn't even get an apology

The room was really tiny and next to the cleaning ladies' room. It was all day loud and woke up early in the morning because of the noise. When I complained about it, they didnt even apologize. Instead they blamed me, that it was my mistake that I didnt let them know earlier... and of course there was no other room available to change....
The way from the metro station to the hotel is steep uphill. Thats annoying after a whole day walking around in the city.
Dont bother having breakfast there.

Most of the reviews of this hotel are spot on. It's located between Olaias and Alameda metro stations. From Alameda it's a short but steep walk up the hill. From Olaias it's slightly longer, and you have to cross a major roundabout, but the slope is gentle and easier if you're dragging luggage. Otherwise it's actually not far to the airport and a taxi can't cost too much. It's about 20 mins to the Rossio station, including waiting for the Metro, which runs less frequently than the systems in, say, London or New York City (Lisbon is a lot smaller...).

Rooms are clean and comfortable, with good wifi and a hit shower which does occasionally leak onto the bathroom floor. The rooms also seem to be very quiet, no noise from inside or outside the hotel.

The breakfast buffet is a bargain, very filling and ample along the lines of a Hampton Inn or similar. Views from the terrace are great, and it's a sunny place to eat breakfast.

The price of this hotel was about half of the cost of similar hotels closer to the centre of town, it's great value and to be recommended.

Stayed in the DAH Hotel for 4 nights in October for a leisure city trip. Reason for choosing this hotel was the overall presentation, price and location. Choosing this hotel proved to be a good decision! Location is excellent; just 15-20 minutes from the airport by Metro (direct line) and only 5-8 minutes walk from the metro station. Take the Olaias station if you want a relaxed walk to the hotel (down hill), the Alamada if you want to climb (or descend) quite a steep hill. The city centre is less than 10 minutes from the Alameda station, which was fine for us.
The hotel lived up to it's expectations, offering everything that one would expect. Clean rooms, nice little lobby with vending machines, internet and seats, a nice and helpful reception desk and good and clean rooms. We stayed in room 305, which was spacious enough for us. Balcony overlooking the area. Shower provided in all our needs, but wasn't that big. Showering was even a bit of a claustrophobic experience, but these were minor points. Beds were good. Breakfast was more than sufficient, and the breakfast room even offers an "esplanada", to enjoy your breakfast outside and with a view on warm and sunny days. Breakfast offered was diverse and fresh. There is even a 24h roomservice, which is very affordable.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the DAH hotel and we could recommend staying there while visiting beautiful Lisbon!

The gentleman who greeted me on reception was extremely helpful and pleasant (even at 1am!) My room was clean and spacious with a lovely big bed. The shower was powerful and plenty of towels were provided. Wifi (free) worked great on all floors!

There's a handy vending machine on the 1st floor with snacks, water and even beer. There's also a hot drinks machine.

The breakfast exceeded expectations. There was a selection of nice fresh bread, pastries, waffles and cakes and biscuits. There was also fresh fruit, a good selection of cereals, yoghurts ham and cheese. There was a small selection of hot items too, as well as a hot drinks machine and juice machine. There's a lovely outdoor terrace, so if it's nice you can enjoy the view whilst you enjoy the breakfast!

The location is good, if you don't want to stay in the busy centre. The Alameda metro station is down a hill but I walked it in less than 5 minutes, easy! The walk back up the steep hill may take an extra couple of minutes though ;-) I didn't use the Olaias station but it looks to be the same distance from the hotel in the other direction.

I left my luggage behind reception after I checked out on the last day and the ladies on reception very kindly looked after it for me until I came back later in the day.

I did not feel unsafe in the area at all as others have mentioned. It's a residential area but is fine. Overall I found the hotel very good valuef or money, and I would definitely return.

About 30 min train to the train station to exit. About 7 minutes to walk to the hotel from station. Price was good to me. Room was slightly small but it did the job for me. TV was 32" wall mount (not too important since I was rarely in the room but sleep and shower) Breakfast room was on the rooftop so that was cool. About 10 min walk to the station to go towards downtown. Train ride to downtown was about 30 min. I could have find a closer hotel but I decided to stay out of the city and live cheaper. The park that you will walk past to go towards downtown was pretty cool.

Which is the nearest mainline train station?I’m arriving from Porto
Answer from Quantumdot
London, United Kingdom41 contributions26 helpful votes
I’m not sure if it’s the closest however Gare Oriente is on the red line which goes to Alameda or Olaias. These are the two closest metro stations to the hotel DOM. We are always went to Alameda to access the metro. It’s downhill to the metro from the hotel, mostly step free but once you get to the metro entrance there are steps. I think there is a fast train between Oriente and Porto. Otherwise you could take a coach between Porto and Lisbon (Sete Rios) which is also on the red line. Sete Rios is also a main line train and coach station but I don’t know if trains from Porto go there. Good luck and enjoy this beautiful country.
