Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel's Favourite
Fantastic location, near the metro. Hotel is lovely, not too big, very personable staff. Excellent Wi-fi & facilities. What makes the hotel is the little extras. Portuguese tarts in your room on arrival, welcome note, small souvenirs. They restock your mini bar each day bar with free soft drinks & a beer. Breakfast is till 11am, so we went for a morning walk and then took brunch. Wide selection, buffet style. I had fruit, yogurt and scramble eggs withs smoked salmon each morning. Rooms are good size, big beds, comfortable, large TV, little fridge and a coffee maker. Bathroom was large, double sink and a walk-in shower. We had room 111. Hotel felt very safe and so was the area it was in. The bar was cosey, good value and had entertainment on the Friday night we was there. Loads of restaurants nearby. Short walk to many of the Lisbon attractions and shopping area This is a 4 stat hotel offer 5-star service We will be back.

A pleasant, comfortable, friendly and well located hotel. We went for vacation, in family, first visit in Portugal. Staff is great and committed to offer a good experience to the guest. Despite is not possible parking on the streets around the hotel, making it difficulting when you are with luggage, the welcoming atmosphere of the stay makes up for any problems.

My friend and I traveled to Lisbon for the first time and stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel was exceptional. Fabulous bed linens, clean, and an excellent bed. The service was also great from the professionalism of the front desk staff to Carolina who guided us to 2 great meals out and advice on our ventures. The breakfast was delicious, and we were invited to enjoy the day we arrived even though we were not checking in until the afternoon. Juts a top rate experience from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.

We stayed for five nights in early January and were extremely happy with our stay at Hotel da Baixa. We found it to be wonderfully well-situated, well-priced, and very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was excellent and the room in which it is served is very pleasant. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful, always offering a friendly greeting and ready at all times to assist with anything you may need. In fact, upon arrival we were treated to a free room-upgrade (so very nice and greatly appreciated) and we were also assisted with making arrangements for a day-trip to Queluz and Sintra and the cost of the tour was paid by the hotel and simply added to our account. Likewise with our airport shuttle upon departure. We cannot say enough to express how glad we are that we chose to stay at Hotel da Baixa and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for wonderful accommodation and service at a good price in an excellent location. In fact we would strongly urge all visitors to Lisbon to consider this hotel before booking elsewhere. Bottom line - if we ever return to Lisbon we would not even look anywhere else and would simply book here as quickly as we could to secure a reservation.

We stayed early January 2024 for 3 nights. The good- Room was clean, large for both of us. Had a little balcony which was a nice touch. Hotel was central to everything, we loved that we can step out of the hotel and walk. Breakfast was nice, got busy fast. Really like the coffee and hot chocolate available by the front desk during the day. The bad - The rooms are not individually temperate controlled. They had the heat on in our room. Guests cannot change the thermostat, so not sure why they even have one. Called the front desk multiple times to change the temperature but they were unable to change because and I quote “most guests want heat and the hotel is in heat mode”. Am I not a guest? This left a bad taste in my mouth during the rest of my stay.
