Located close to a metro station and with many shops and restaurant around, this hotel is a very good choice for such a (surprisingly) low price. The rooms are well equipped, and although it's a bit noisy inside (as the hotel is located on a 24/7 busy road), it's worth the money.

I can't imagine to stay there for a longer vacation, but for a night or two, this is definitely one of the best options in Lisbon.

Spent a week at Empire Lisbon as we had meetings to explore the possibility of moving to Portugal in some near future. The location is ideal with a metro station (green line) 500 feet from the entrance. From here one can get basically anywhere in the city. The room was a decent size for the two of us. We asked for a quiet room and was very pleased to be to the back of the hotel and literally heard not a peep. Thank you Inez - she was so helpful (as was the remainder of the staff). The cleaning staff were all very attentive and did a thorough cleaning daily. The only negative, and it is very small, is that the Wi-Fi can be weak in our room (floor 5). But the Wi-Fi is great in the lobby where they have a small business center area for any needs to have conference calls etc. There's a grocer nearby many restaurants.

Travelled to Lisbon for my husbands birthday arriving at the hotel which was 15 mins from airport snd €10 in a taxi , the area looks a wee bit run down ( but a lot of Lisbon looks like this) so don’t let that put you off . Hotel is about 25 mins walk to central Lisbon and lots to look at along the way or if you prefer subway is 1 minute from hotel and €2 one way . Hotel was spotless and modern and the staff were some of the nicest I’ve encountered. A lovely room snd they had decorated it as it was a special weekend , I had emailed ahead and asked if they did this and also requested a bottle of Prosecco which was also organised for the amazing price of €10. The breakfast was fab , a good selection of breads meats cheeses snd eggs . Nice coffe snd pastries too . Really could not fault the Place or the exceptional staff would definitely recommend and will be returning to the Empire soon

A great valued hotel in an excellent location in Lisbon. Located right outside Arroios metro station making it a 10 minute journey to the central areas and 1 change at Alameda to go the the airport. The room was spacious and comfortable with a brilliant shower. Room has lots of amenities including fee toiletries, a desk and a fridge and you can request as kettle when you check in. Reception staff were attentive and friendly as were the housekeeping staff who gave us a birthday card too. Breakfast had a plenty of options from pastries to cereal and hot food. You will always be full! It gets quite busy around 8am but there is enough seating to be able to relax and keep going back for more! The hotel also give guests a free coffee voucher which we used once we checked out. Would stay here again and would recommend to anybody visiting Lisbon.

Location is to far out. 50 minute walk to the centre. Luckily Ubers are cheap so we got an Uber most days into the centre which was 4/5 euros per trip.

Beds are comfortable but our room was on the smaller side and had a view of the air conditioning unit from the window. The rooms could be cleaner, showers had mould in the grout and the plastic seal was yellow. We stayed for 5 days and a dirty coffee cup stayed in our room for the whole duration wasn’t removed by the cleaners.

They also do not offer any tea / coffee facilities in the room, you have to purchase if you wish for a tea or coffee from reception.

Breakfast is the same everyday and not a great selection of hot choices.

I found the staff quite rude and questions are answered but seems like it’s such an issue.

No shower room if you have a late flight, nor do they offer late check out past 12pm despite having availability for rooms online which having travelled the world this shocked me. Standard check out is 11am and they charge extra to stay until 12pm ?!?!

Wouldn’t return personally but it works if you just want a cheap getaway and don’t mind paying to get into the centre.

I decided to book a 3 night stay here partly on the basis of TA reviews.
Hotel easy to get to by metro from airport,, via the Red line down to Alemada then change to green line and one stop to Arroios station which is 50 metres from hotel.
The street in general , less than a mile from the city centre may seem a bit grubby but once inside the hotel, a smart reception and friendly and very helpful staff await.
I requested a quiet room at the back as other reviewers referred to busy street noise and we were given a twin room 209 at the rear. Very smart, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, a small fridge. (But not kettle for making a brew in the room) Quiet in the room but strangely I was aware at times of the distant rùmble of the metro trains underground but this wasn't really an issue.

Breakfast is served between 7.30 to 10 and I have to say I was very impressed with the choice of food on offer, cereals, fruit, breads, eggs, scrambled and hard boiled. even sponge cakes and little pastries. Coffee machine gave a wide selection as well as the fruit juices on offer. It set us up well for the day exploring Lisbon.
With Arroios metro station just outside, its a just five minute ride into the city and very easy to navigate.

The room stay worked out the equivalent of £50 per person per night which was great value. With very helpful staff and excellent cleaning service in the rooms I would certainly use the Empire Hotel if I return to Lisbon.

This is our second time yo this lovely hotel . It’s in a good location 30 mins walk from centre but there is a subway station directly outside hotel eith trains running every 5 minutes . Selection of supermarkets around and lots of local eateries that are more cafe like but very cheap, Hotel it’s self is spotlessly clean and rooms are nice snd modern . We had toon eith balcony snd street view but noise was not an issue . Great location for exploring ehat Lisbon has to offer , just wear comfortable shoes as you will walk for miles . The hotel staff are very friendly snd helpful. The hotel doesn’t have a bar but the breakfast was a great way to start your day , you don’t get a full English but there is plenty of local fresh produce which was delicious ( and healthier) . It isn’t a 5 star luxury hotel it’s sn economy hotel but we loved it . You are out most of the time so it’s a lovely clean space yo put your head down for a sleep ( beds were very comfortable) snd get cleaned up for the next days adventure . We love this hotel

We needed a hotel for one night before our flight home the next day, following a few weeks travel around Portugal and Spain. This isn't the most touristy area of Lisbon, but it's close to a metro station, and it was also within walking of Edward Park, where we wanted to check out the beautiful Fernando Botero sculpture in the morning before we had to leave for the airport. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. They kindly printed out my boarding pass for me so I would have it ready for the airport. The bathroom has a sliding glass frosted door, so probably best if you are staying in the room with someone you know well! The very reasonable rate included a delicious buffet breakfast with a very good selection of juices, eggs, fruit, yogurt and pastries. Would have no hesitation staying here again.

We came to Lisbon to celebrate a birthday and stayed in 3 rooms in the Empire Lisbon Hotel.
I emailed before hand and requested birthday greetings and bottle of Prosecco for one of the rooms. The room has been decorated perfectly on arrival.
All rooms were more than adequate for our city break celebrations. All were clean and comfortable although the shower was confusing at first and I got soaked trying to navigate it, some mould was apparent on some lower tiles.
Metro a few minutes away which we used each day, combined with the bus and tram.
There is a supermarket next door which was utilised as we had fridges in the rooms and were able to store plenty of drinks and snacks!
Breakfast was great a mix of continental and hot food. Sadly no Gluten Free options were available but again we popped to the supermarket and stocked up!!
We felt safe walking around at night and found the Secret Garden LX bar where the views were absolutely amazing although there were over 100 steps to get to it!

We stayed three nights at this hotel and were very glad we chose it. Upon arrival upon arrival they treated us in a kind and helpful way giving us information on how to get around and where to dine. The room was clean, with a nice bathroom, wifi and a balcony on the Av. Alm. Reis. The two small but fast service lifts always available. Excellent breakfast with a really rich buffet and excellent quality food. The metro stop in front of the hotel (where we bought the Viva Viagem day ticket for the three-day stay in Lisbon) allows you to reach places to visit or bus and tram connections in just a few minutes. A few minutes walk from the hotel there is the typical Portuguese restaurant Delicia de arroios where we had excellent and cheap dinners. Truly a hotel to recommend for service, cost and location.

We booked through BDC so can send them a message before you book. Alternatively email them stating your choice and give your name then they know as you book if available. We found the staff very good and we’re up on the 4th or 5th floor at the back

Around 20 min walk to downtown, but metro is so close that I would suggest using that. The town is big enough to find activities for 5 days.
