I have just returned from a 7 day stay in Casa Shanti Niketan which I enjoyed very much. We had booked a twin room and it was exactly like the photos - it was spacious with plenty of room to move about. The bathroom was modern with a great shower. The TV even had quite a few English speaking channels... More

The house is gorgeous, exceptionally clean and well placed for the beach, walking into Cascais and for taking the train into Lisbon. Everyone was very friendly and accomodating. We would definitely stay here again.

We wanted something different in terms of accommodation; a cosy family feel B&B off the beaten track without the hustle and bustle of a big commercial hotel. Somewhere not too far from the beach in Monte Estoril and with easy access by train to Lisbon (20 minutes). Casa Shanti Niketan ticked all those boxes. The owner Sophia is very welcoming... More

Our first visit to this B&B but it certainly will not be our last. The saying small is beautiful certainly applies in this case. The retention of many of the artifacts and the furniture from its previous life as a doctors house add to the charm of the property. The bedrooms are well appointed and the presence of a mini-bar... What a lovely place to stay. It had been a private house previously, and we felt really at home there. The breakfasts are excellent, with good orange juice, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, lovely bread, homemade cake and great coffee. Fatima oversees breakfast and is friendly and efficient. Sofia is a gracious and interesting hostess. We stayed in the Attic Room... More

This is an excellent B+B. Everybody was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble and we wanted for nothing. Very clean and homely. The breakfast was delicious including lovely fresh fruit. There was tea and coffee in the room with a jug of fresh milk in the fridge every day. Sofia gave us complementary passes to see the World... More

This is our third visit to this establishment.....enough said. Excellent accommodation. A healthy walk down to the train station ( a little harder coming back up the hill !!) as we get older. They have the same 3 members of staff as they did 4 years ago and they compliment each other. We shall return.

A lovely place, in a village, easily accessible by rail from Lisbon; close to station and beach. Walkable to Cascais. The owner met us as we arrived and was very friendly and chatty. The other guests were also chatty at breakfast, exchanging views and ideas on sightseeing and days out. Our room was large and cool and quiet;- although it... More
