I spent 3 nights in this beautiful hotel with my husband in June. We were taking a break for a special occasion and on arrival, the hotel provided a very kind and generous upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. This aside, we found everything about the hotel to be five star. The excellent staff training was very apparent. The quality of the accommodation, the food, the spa were all top class and we had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay. The location is also very good - just about 5 mins walk in to Cascais.…
Fantastic hotel. I’m not sure if I was upgraded but my room was a massive suite. All the amenities you would expect. Great spa and hammam. Loved the hydro jet pool. Nice pool outside. Really exactly as you would hope. The hotel is A short picturesque walk from town. I’d recommend renting bikes and riding to the guincha beach. Expect the most epic sunsets imaginable. …
Ruined the start of our holiday in Cascais for our wedding. Decided to stay here for two nights before our wedding as we wanted something very special. We booked a suite to have more space and more luxury. I contacted the hotel prior to travelling to inform them of our wedding so they hopefully prepare something special for our arrival. How wrong I was!! Check in was at 3pm and we had to wait until 3.40pm to finally get our keys as apparently they were preparing a surprise. We later found out it wasn’t the surprise that took so long. The message I had sent to inform them of our wedding hadn’t been acknowledged really and they were panicking when we arrived trying to find us a better room. To our luck there was no better room available so we get the horrific, old, dark, dirty suite that no one else would have been put in. As soon as we got in I was so shocked. Despite the decoration of fake rose petals all I could see was the dirty furniture. We contacted reception right away and they said there weren’t any other rooms. They then showed us a standard double room which to be fair was much nicer than our room but said they wouldn’t be able to refund our money and we would have to contact hotels.com for a refund. I’m sorry - I’m getting married in 2 days do they really think I have time to chase a refund? We then asked to speak to the manager who admitted the room was old and mot to the best standard and said he would move us if he could. What was funny though wad the fact that despite all our complaints and explanations of how they ruined what was supposed to be an amazing start to our wedding trip, they didn’t offer us any other sort of compensation or complimentary services at all!!! They have a restaurant were they could have given us a complimentary meal to make up for the inconvenience or a spa were they could have offered a complimentary massage to relief the stress of wedding planning. But no, they offered nothing!! This is very poor service for a 5-Star. This is our third time in Cascais and the 3 and 4 star hotels we stayed at were in much better shape than this one. Don’t waste your money on a suite. I’d recommend anyone to stay at the Farol opposite the road and avoid this pretentious hotel. I only wish I had done that myself!…
Just returned from celebrating a substantial birthday in Cascais together with some great friends. The staff at the hotel helped us make this a really amazing time. Everyone helping to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. If there were six stars to award, we would do it!
Our family of four spent 5 fabulous nights in this beautiful hotel. We were so impressed with the quality of service offered by all staff members from the reception desk to housekeeping, the hard working pool assistants and the breakfast servers. The rooms are very large and comfortable and most importantly are immaculate. The breakfast buffet is just delicious with many options, all presented with care. The location is the best. We easily walked into town sometimes twice a day or along the beautiful path toward Boca de Inferno and beyond. Ubers are readily available. We rented a car for a few days and parking at the hotel was quite convenient. We highly recommend this lovely hotel to all! So happy this was our choice over others. Thank you to Cristovão Silva for his diligence and concern for the guests! We loved every minute of our stay. …
"Most rooms should be quiet, but the neighbors can pose a problem. Perhaps better to spend the money and obtain a room overlooking the pool."Read full review
