When you book at this establishment you receive an email which amongst get other things warns you the place is a bit old and maybe a bit basic. Old yes. Basic ? NO. Charming. I have seen basic in Spain these rooms are very comfortable and well fitted out. The staff could not be more helpful. Anja provided an excellent...

My family and I were lucky enough to stay at Cash Pombal this month, and meet Else and Anya, the kindest, most wonderful innkeepers you will ever meet. Casa Pombal is cheery, well-situated in the most historic part of town, and offers a wonderful breakfast as well as lots of helpful information about things to do and see. But this...

Coimbra is a very hilly city and this guesthouse is on a hill. Didn't bother us at all and we walked everywhere because despite the hills, Coimbra is quite small. But if you are not fit, you may need to take cabs. The team of ladies that run Casa Pombal are very friendly and helpful, full of advice about where...

Pros: This guesthouse is a dream: once you come in you feel like at home! The lady who greeted us was very friendly and kind, providing us precious information on what to visit, where to eat and events to attend in Coimbra. The room was cosy and fully equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay, and even more....

This is like staying in the guestroom at your charmingly eccentric and interesting aunt's townhouse. Great breakfast was included as well as tons of interesting information, advice, and help. It was great value for the price.

The accommodation is really very unique. It's a very charming and typical portuguese place. The location is in the old town of Coimbra, very close to the university on the top of the hill. The owner of the accommodation was really very friendly. She's explained everything about Coimbra, restaurants and more very detailed. The rooms are small, but with a...

Very Nice decoration and very guestfree owners. Very good breakfast. Various breads, with various things for on the bread. It's was raining a lot when we where there and the owner suggesties a free umbrella to loan, this was very appreciated. The only minor was the Sound.

Just a super location, everything is so close by. Best to get a cab initially because it's tricky to find at first. All the staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. The decor in the house was great and will remind you of staying at your favorite eccentric aunt's house. The breakfast was really good to start you on your day....

This is a very cozy, friendly hotel in the old part of town. Our room was small but had everything we needed. Tv, internet, shower, towels, etc. This is really a "1 star" hotel but it was perfect for us. One caveat is that if you have a car, you will need to find parking nearby. The owner was very...

Much more than a straightforward B&B, Casa Pombal goes out of their way to make guests feel at home. It's located in the heart of the city which can cause problems for cars/taxis, as well as maintaining one's own sense of direction, but that's part of the fun. A good breakfast sets you up, and even in the cold and...
