Detailed Reviews
Our first impression was a poor one, the receptionist was quite brusque and short with the customer in front of us which puts you ‘on the back foot’. The site itself was an eclectic mix of tents, caravans and a surfing community which was lovely. The shower and toilet block was revolting, we can cope with the facilities needing an update, this happens, but these facilities were filthy. I tried 3 separate showers on 2 separate days to find a ‘cleanish’ shower and then struggled. The cleaner was there on both days, she moved, with cloth in one hand and phone in the other from the shower area to the washing machine area and never used the cloth at all, but chattered continuesly. My husband did see her mopping the floor 😳
This is such a shame as the area is lovely and well worth a visit, the site could be lovely with better staff and management

+:
- Friendly welcome and helpful staff!
- Pitches are spacious enough, choice between shade/sun, but very sandy. Maintenance average.
- Toilets renovated and OK in terms of hygiene.
-:
The showers were warm but very outdated and dirty, the plumbing on the shower side was full of ants, hair and other things on both walls and floors in the showers.
Some locks on the doors were broken.
Need for renovation/repair and better maintenance!
Price quality acceptable in low season, in high season I would not stay here for this price and in view of hygiene and installations.

We are 2 people with a dog and a 6 m motorhome. Booked in advance for March 20th - April 2nd, 2024. There are no refunds for late arrivals or early departures!! We've never experienced this before. Both the restaurant and bar are closed, although they have been open since March 1st. should be open.
The sanitary facilities are clean, but ancient. Some of the showers even lack soap holders. Toilet paper is only available in 1 roll for everyone. We pay 31,- here.
However, the staff is very friendly.

I think the price is a bit high (a small tent for 2 is €22/night if you're looking for a free pitch). The site itself is beautifully situated under pine trees, totally quiet and has clean toilets and a good café! I'd come back again and again, but it takes a while to get to town.

I stayed here in August 2017 as a solo motorcyclist with a large tent, my girlfriend joined me for a few days around my birthday, flying in to Faro, which is 90 minutes away if you use the toll motorway.
I have stayed at several Orbitur campsites, and as with the others, this one is very very good. Security is excellent, with 24 hour sentry coverage at the gate, and a barrier for vehicles and pedestrians. Don't even try to get in without showing your pass. Guests have to be booked in as well and you are required to leave a photo ID with the reception desk for the duration of your stay. The local area is very nice and not at all rough, just in case the security thing gives you the wrong idea.
The campsite incorporates a surf camp and skate park, complete with mini ramp. Even though I skate and surf, I did find the noise of the surf camp a bit intrusive with the constant thump thump thump of boards riding over the transition or hitting the coping on the ramp, and the music was loud a couple of nights to the point I couldn't listen to music in my tent as I drifted off to sleep as is my habit. To be fair I could have set up camp further away from the surf camp, and I would have done, had I known, but I couldn't be bothered to move, and it only really was a problem for one or two nights of my 12 night stay.
The facilities are excellent. There are cleaners on site all the time, and I don't think I ever went to the toilet / shower block without bumping into one of the cleaning staff.
There are also plenty of sinks for hand washing clothes or washing up food stuff. There are washing machines too.
The entire site is in a pine forest and has plenty of shade. The area closest to the reception area and skate park has 100% pine tree canopy if you require a lot of shade, and is also close enough to the reception to have coverage from the wi-fi if you are a web junkie.
The ground is sandy, and as you would expect covered in pine needles. I purchased an extra ground sheet from the well stocked onsite supermarket, as I was concerned that my tent ground sheet and air mattress would suffer damage.
The sand is quite deep in places, enough to be a problem for me on the bike, so stick to the chalky roads, no short cuts. There is a one way system in place to keep the traffic down, but one Friday night the road past where I was turned into a race track with vehicles flying along in both directions, chalk dust blowing everywhere.
The bar and cafe are quite good, with good but basic evening meals served, and snacks during the day time. There is a wifi area with seating away from the bar so you don't have to buy a drink if you just need the net.
The easiest way to get to the camp is drive all the way into Sagres, right to the beach road, then turn right and the campsite is signed. Satnav from the north will direct you onto an unmade road which is shorter but very very rough.
As well as tent space there are dedicated motor home plots, and bungalows with and without bathrooms / kitchens.
I would definitely stay here again.

Waaaaay too expensive for what you get. Priced as a 5 star camp, but service is maybe for 1 star, cleanlines for a zero. You get leveled ground for the motorohome (but only some plots) and that's about all. No toilet paper. Cold water in the shower room, broken showerheads so you basically get just one stream of water, ants are all over the shower room walls. I'm guessing these facilities were not redone or peoperly taken care of in this century. Or maybe ever. Unfriendly staff. I suspect they pay a hefty bonus to the staff member that can produce the longest line of grumpy customers in the reception room.

We stayed here in our motorhome a few days ago and found it to be a typical Orbitur site, shabby but clean.
It's a lovely setting among pine trees although when we were there they must have had a lot of rain as the roads were showing a lot of damage.
The local coastline is quite spectacular and well worth a visit.
I would use this site again.

Well, i've been traveling with my tent and I stayed at this camping place two nights. The place is quiet, you have to walk almost 2km to go to a beach, ich is doable. The thing I hated the most was the cleaning of the showers and toilets. On the block 3 it was very bad, I decided then go to the second one, a litle bit far from my tent. It was stil old, but cleaner.

Excellent position for our visit to nearby nude beach at Beliche 2 km away. Friendly reception staff. Not busy early May so had the pick of pitches - ours was fine with hook up.
The site does show signs of ageing and the place needs some upgrading in parts. Touch of smells in the male sanitary block.
The restaurant is open all day but very basic. Couvert of bread, butter, sardine pate and seconds did produce a very nice tuna pate. Mains limited to fish of the day, a chicken dish and a pork dish and a beef dish. Wine list basic. The ladies working there did so extremely hard and cheerful as dis male kitchen staff. One guy in a red baseball cap watched the cycling on TV and did nothing else - possibly the owner? Just a guess....
Will we return? Probably yes because of the location, the beach and the proximity to Sagres - but not to the restaurant.
Cost for a night in the motorhome for 2 people and a dog with electricity €24.50.
Serious suggestion to the management - plenty of space to have a nudist/naturist/nudista section..... I am happy to advise on such matters if requested to do so.

Thank you for reviewing our camping. Sorry about the restaurant experience, although this is not Orbitur responsibility (it is not managed by Orbitur). Hope to hear again from you soon.

camping is beautiful, great vibes. on the other hand, services are terrible (toilet are dirty and showers are flooded), especially considering the high prices. It would be a great place, if services are better mantained
