Our stay at the Maretta beach house was amazing. The staff at check-in were very helpful and friendly. Our room was spotless, and the view from our family suite (#3), was probably the best you can get in Sagres!
There is a beautiful pool area with amazing views of the cliffs of Maretta Beach.
Breakfast was fairly basic but fresh and delicious with enough options for everyone. I would highly recommend this boutique hotel!

Stayed 2 nights in early June, which turned out to be perfect as the place was very calm and we barely encountered any other guests. Family suite had plenty of space for 4 people and a nice view of the infinity pool and the coast beyond. No issues with noise disturbance since the pool and bar closed by 8 pm. Location was perfect with Mareta beach and the Sagres fortress both in walking distance. Also a nice little coffee shop next door that we visited several times. Overall a very enjoyable stay, would definitely return!

Located next to one of Sagres most popular city beaches it is easy to go surfing and having a rest in the hotel a view times of the day, we had a nice room on 1 th floor with own Terace sheltered from the wind by glass, spectacular view. the rich breakfast leaves nothing to be desired… and if you can order at the cafe bar in-house by extra payment. House is very clean and beds are comfortable. In the garden pool you can have refreshment nearby. Perfect stay thank you!

We arrived here fresh faced on our honeymoon with massive smiles to be met by the most miserable man on reception that I have ever experienced. I hoped he was just having a bad day but we had the same awful customer service, grunts and clear distaste for people being there every time we saw him. There was a lady also similar. However one of the girls on reception was brilliant. Helped us sort out using the bikes and recommended places for dinner so thank you to her!
As someone else says, it is more like a hostel and it is noisy with very little soundproofing. The pool can be used by all 3 properties so it was really busy. The breakfast was an ok selection but I have no idea how they manage to make bread and croissants that stale!
It is a great location and I think that and the pool is why they get away with bad service. It was clean though, and the cleaning staff were super friendly. The pool is clean and great if you can get a sun lounger.
We had tried to book a week and our booking got cancelled so we only ended up staying for 3 nights which ended up being a blessing in disguise.
Great for a couple of nights, if you want somewhere with a pool.

To start with the good -
The location was great. Right in the middle of almost everything, most good restaurants only a 5 minute walk and beaches close by.
The outdoor area was relatively well kept, with some nice furnishings - although the soft pillows got wet from people from the pool.
Now the not so good - Speaking of the pool - on photos it looked as if it is right next to the sea - however there is a large car park between the pool and the sea - which is quite noticeable when not looking from floor level. Further, it was quite loud with noise from the rather busy roundabout and car park - and often the wind would blow right through the place.
Our room was for 4 people with a mezzanine floor suitable for only dwarfs and a large wooden support perfect for breaking your forehead on when awaking - and the cleaners insisted on positioning the beds in this position even though we moved them to be more comfortable every single day. There was only a tiny railing stopping people from falling off the mezzanine - any loss of balance could have been fatal.
There was no bin. No bin. And there as also no place to hang up towels. Not particularly practical.
Breakfast was un-inspiring, with very limited choice for every single day and no cooked items. However, we were made to either sit in an underground stark room or upstairs in their cafe and watch non residents customers with their much more interesting selection of foods. It made us feel like second class customers. Not acceptable when the hotel was so expensive.
Staff where completely hit and miss. The receptionist seemed un-interested in our queries, and there was a teenager behind the bar who was more interested in talking to his friend and playing his bad rap music than his job. However, there where a few nice and friendly staff - working the breakfast and behind the bar on a few other days.
We think that the term "boutique hotel" does not describe the hotel at all - its decor was basic and in places rather tacky - and it was too large of an operation with no personalisation and lack of friendliness amongst staff.
A functional hotel - way overpriced for what it offered - but not particularly special. We where disappointed
3/5 however the high price tag bumps it down another.

excellent location and superb layout of the room for our family of four. You can't get any closer to Mareta beach. we love boutique size, and atmosphere of small hotels where service is personalised and discrete Mareta Beach House is one of them.
We keep coming back to Mareta Beach house/Mareta view for years now and we definitelly will be back. pool with a view to Atlantic is hard to beat!

Hotel appears to have been recently remodeled. Nice hotel pool. Quite close to the beach, walking distance to “town” and Fortaleza. A lot of options at breakfast, but if they ran out of something it did not get replenished. No coffee maker in room. Bed was a bit too firm. Two biggest concerns were the staff (except the maintenance man who came to look at our A/C) were not overly nice. We were finishing our breakfast when someone came in and said “breakfast ends at 10:30” before proceeding to slam things around and turn out the lights. Similar situation the next day although we had finished and were just chatting. Turning off the lights was a bit over the top (it was 10:35). THE BIG PROBLEM: holy mosquitoes! I am completely covered in welts. Anything that stuck out of the bed covers got bitten. Only found them in our room! They were coming out of the clean towels and I don’t know where else.

I would have liked to review the accommodation itself but unfortunately I cannot judge that the service... 3 days before arrival, we received an email informing us that our Reservation was cancelled because there was a problem with our credit card. I would point out that this was our 4th accommodation in Portugal and we had no problems with the map before that. I contacted them to see if we could just find another payment method, I just never got an answer! We therefore had to find urgent accommodation for 4 people in the middle of August! I would therefore call this service mediocre...

We had a wonderful stay in Sagres in Mareta beach house. Everything perfect!
We enjoyed the room, the pool, the beautiful view and the location in Sagres.
The man (spoke also French) was very friendly at the reception.
Breakfast Good But Not so Nice in the basement. We could take it to the terrace at the bar/ patisserie / restaurant. Was Nice!

Super location with pool and waking up to sound of ocean waves ! We stayed in the two bedroom in the house, No 3 unit with door open to swimming pool with ocean view. Stunning view and great location next to coffee bar where we enjoyed excellent breakfast. Minutes walk to bars and restaurants in town and dinner per front desk recommendation was excellent!
