The hotel was perfectly following the health and hygiene measures regarding Corona. Every were was hand sanitizer available, at each floor, at all the entrance doors, at the lobby, every where you could imagine of. The lady at reception was really helpful and kind (Unfortunately forgot her name). We arrived sooner than the check-in time but she provided us a very nice room with a view to the beautiful pool of the hotel.
The breakfast was wonderful with variety of options. Everyday there was some new surprises. Serving the breakfast was also very good. Only 4 people could be inside to take their breakfast in order to keep safe distance during Corona. At the entrance of the breakfast area we were provided by disposable gloves and hand sanitizer.
Location was very convenient. It was walking distance to the old city center of Lagos and also close to public beaches.
We really enjoyed our stay here.
Definitely recommend the place.
Breakfast looks plentiful but in reality, it’s all bread. Coffee is not good, only available from the espresso machine, which comes out watered down. There isn’t any regular coffee offered. No fruit and no yogurt. Just lots and lots of different types of carbs.
Rude welcome as well. When I asked about local COVID testing places that they might recommend, the woman who was checking me answered “you can Google it.” I didn’t bother to ask anything else after. Upon check out, i was asked how my stay was and I shared my feedback about the noise. The answer was “that’s why we have different room categories”. Unfortunately I booked the last room and I guess it was the noisy category.
Hard bed. No full length mirror.
The only pro was the housekeeping. They do a great job of maintaining the room clean during your stay.
Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay here again.
Positive:
it's an adult only hotel
Room was big, with a day bed, 2 accent seats and 2 TVs, bathroom also big, with small terrace
Buffet breakfast was very good, many choices and nicely presented.
There's a small pool and spa (we did not use these facilities).
Very good location, short walk to the historic town centre, the beaches and Ponta da Piedade
There are 3 restaurants few meters from the hotel.
Free parking spaces available outside of the hotel.
Negatives:
Dodgy spiral staircase to our (attic) room especially when one is carrying a big suitcase.
Very limited English channels on TV (2 news channels)
Broken shower head on arrival and tepid water, these were quickly sorted.
Housekeeping did not remove rubbish for 5 days (we've asked the room to bw cleaned 2x)
We spent the day lunching on the beach, walking to the famous ponte de piedales rock formations where the Med meets the Atlantic, and had a delicious portuguese dinner in the Old town( at Taberna da Mo)- all walking distance from our wonderful hotel. The breakfast was all homemade and offered many international choices. It is also very quiet and respectful as I do believe it is a hotel for adults only.
Will definitely return!
The room was large, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom spacious. I loved the tiling in the bathroom and have dreams of recreating it at home!
There are several great restaurants within a 10 min easy walk. Best to make a reservation.
Thank you very much for making our last couple of days in Portugal so special
"Prepare for a very erratic wifi signal. The Suite with Terrace is so private and worth the extra money Arrive hungry for breakfast"Read full review
