We are in a one room apartment, with a balcony at the streetside. It looks very nice, it is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The receptionist is very kind and helpful. We are birders and early risers, we were offered an early breakfast package so that we need not scurry around to find anything open prior to our birding boat trip with marine biologists. We really enjoy our stay in this beautiful hotel. Good breakfast, we haven’t tried the restaurant yet for dinner.
This is an aparthotel very close to the Lagos Marina, just a bridge and a walk away from the city center. The hotel facilities are quite good, with a large pool, plenty of sunbeds, a nice pool bar, and the rooms are spacious and clean. It has very good amenities, inc. a toaster, a Nespresso-like coffee machine, and a large fridge. The staff is generally nice and friendly, however there are some very, very rude staff, and the enforcement of some "pseudo-rules" is unnaceptable. As such, what could be a 5 star rating is reduced to 4 stars.
5 ***** Marina 5 ***** Sevices 5 ***** Location "In summer day time temperatures can reach 28°/ 30° C and 18°/ 20° C at night. The number of rainy days is less than one in summer. During the winter, maximum temperatures range from 13° / 18° C. The risk of winds over force 8 Beaufort is 1% in the summer and 9% in January, probably the lowest percentages in Europe. "
Had a great week at this hotel. Got given a room upgrade on arrival, top floor with pool & marina view. Separate lounge / kitchen area which was huge. Cleaned immaculately every day, which is obviously important in Covid times ! Friendly staff members, quiet pool area, though did get busier as more flights arrived into Portugal. Didn't dine at the hotel so can't comment on the food, but bar was reasonably priced. Ideal location for a leisurely stroll into town for the evening, & also plenty of bars / restaurants on the marina if you didn't want to walk too far. 10 / 15 minute walk to a beautiful beach which seemed to go on as far as the eye could see. Would we come back ? Yes for sure, a great holiday in a clean, safe environment.
Booked our first longstay at Marina Club. Perfect apartment, spa and gym. Pool view from our terrace. Apartment well equipped and a nice bar. The staff so friendly and service minded. This in a situation where all things are turned up side down because of corona virus. We will be back as soon as things are back to normal.
