Beautiful hotel, in lovely gardens, with ocean views from room which had a nice balcony. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Location, though not far from train station is inconvenient, without a car, for exploring. A shuttle to the main sites could improve the attraction of this place. One can enjoy the resort like setting. There is a sauna and steam room and a jacuzzi. However the Jacuzzi had cold water and could not be used. Also there were no basic necessities like soap or shampoo in the shower of the changing rooms. The walls are thin. Though the rooms seem like they are at a distance, we could hear the guests in the adjacent room snoring in the am.
Just returned form Vila Gale Lagos after a 10 day stay all inclusive with my Husband. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and had a fantastic holiday. The Hotel is set out in well kept grounds. Our room was on the 3rd floor giving a lovely view of sea, pool and Lagos town in the distance. Room was cleaned everyday, nice fresh linen bedding and towels. Because our stay was over 7 days we were granted with a pass to eat one night in both the A' La Carte Restaurant and the Italian Restaurant based within the complex and Wow...... all I can say is what a treat as the food was so good. Buffet in the evening was also very good and you could always find something delicious to eat...........fish,meat,salad,pasta etc.....and my favourite pineapple flambe with ice cream or fruit crumble.......scrummy. Everywhere was kept very clean. The Hotel boundary gate leads directly across the road and railway track to an amazing beach which, is scattered with pretty shells along the way. The staff were all very pleasant and courteous toward my husband and myself. Therefore a very BIG thank you to everyone at Vila Gale Lagos for contributing toward a wonderful holiday. We would be more than happy to return.…
Great location with a nice easy 20 minute walk into town. Facilities are great with a huge pool and just across from a beautiful beach for a walk or sun bake. Rooms are lovely too....definitely recommend a stay here!
Just spent 3 days at this hotel and was a bit concerned the week before with some of the reviews on here but it was fantastic, the staff couldn’t be more helpful. We were upgraded to a sea view room when we arrived at it was only 10am and our room wasn’t ready so they found us one that was. We were all inclusive and everything was included, branded drinks, branded ice creams etc Buffet food was good, the Sunday was a seafood buffet and my boyfriend is allergic to sea food so at lunchtime the went and cooked him some turkey wasn’t a problem at all and then in the evening they had meat as well as fish. Buffet can be very similar but all the the food at the pool bar was also included we had lunch around the pool and buffet on an evening. It is perfect for a relaxing chilling holiday, was a 15 min walk into the town but the little train does stop right in front of the hotel and if wanted a taxi which we did one evening it was 4.50 euros. Only down point we found was that if you wanted to play pool you had to pay for that and we did one evening and it’s one set price 10.80 euros and we only played 3 games which seemed very expensive the following night we didn’t bother as didn’t want to pay that again.…
We have just come back from staying at the Vila gale Lagos. I stayed here with my husband but we were part of a large group staying here with a mix of couples and families. Upon check in we were told that our room had been upgraded to a sea view room, which was lovely. The staff are all so friendly and approachable. Everyone we spoke to tried to have a laugh with you and it left a really good impression with us. The room itself (2002) was nice, with a lovely balcony area. The only downside I would say about the rooms are that everything is so noisy. I woke a few times in the early hours of the morning thinking someone was in the room when it was in fact our neighbours moving around in their room. We also unfortunately had a gentleman next to us who was sick every morning and you could literally hear everything ☹️ There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but you can hire a kettle at an extra cost. There are also no ironing facilities but we took a travel iron with us so no trouble. Just good to know before you go. The grounds of the hotel are spotless and staff work really hard to maintain them to a high standard. The pool areas are fantastic. The main pool is huge and we never struggled for a lounger. The facilities for children are great too. The children’s pool has a few slides and there’s a lovely little playground and area for the children to do arts and crafts etc. We stayed all inclusive and as part of the package you are able to dine in the Italian restaurant or the al a carte restaurant. We chose to dine in the Italian restaurant and unfortunately it wasn’t the best. I had the chicken tagliatelle and it tasted quite bland and wasn’t very warm. My husband also had garlic bread that was difficult to eat as it was so hard. The food in the main restaurant was nice. Nothing amazing, but nice all the same. Breakfast was lovely, it had everything you could want, but I felt food of an evening was just a bit too repetitive for my liking. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The pros massively outweighed the cons and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone.…
"Our room 1129 was quite a walk from reception and the buffet restaurant, being at one end of the hotel."Read full review
