The Aldeia Azul was a peaceful little oasis with everything we could want away from the bustle of the town. The facilities in the apartment were excellent and the pool warm and inviting. We ate at the restaurant and had excellent meals at a good price and the staff couldn't have been friendlier and welcoming. It is a few kilometers out of lagos though and you will need transport or a taxi to visit the town

We booked this resort last minute as we wanted to extend our time in the Algarve. We were extremely happy with the quality of this resort for the affordable price. We were in a two-level suite with a full kitchen, washing machine, and walk out patio. The suite itself was extremely clean and comfortable and would have been ideal for a longer stay. For those with kids, the resort has many activities, including a pool, trampoline, mini golf, and tennis. That being said, as just a couple, we found the resort to be quiet and relaxing. We would definitely recommend to anyone coming to the area!

Everything about this resort is beautiful. The kids loved the pool and trampoline. (Only down side was the artificial grass was burning on their feet)
Wish someone would invent something to prevent this happening on children's play areas
It did not deter them.
We all loved the food at the restaurant and the service from Eden(I think I've got the name right) was superb. So friendly caring and efficient. Nothing was too much for her even when it was really busy.
The tiramso was to die for. Cant wait to return.
It' is such a beautiful setting.

Me and my gf were looking for a place outside the centre to relax and chill and this location perfectly matched our goals. It's clean, well managed and with many outside activities available such as tennis, mini golf and a big public pool. Inside we got get kitchen, laundry machine, 2 bedrooms, big bathroom and a well working Air Co in every room.
It's suitable for large families and couples or either big group of friends (sharing the price the whole cost became ridiculous)
The structure ia also pets friendly!
Feeling like in a hotel but we a good dose of indipendence and we enjoyed It a lot!
Will definitely be back!

lovely villas, everything is spotless. staff extremely helpful. only reason i gave it four star is because of the freezzzzing pool and the fact it is too far to walk to local attractions. we didnt hire a car but if we did,im sure we would have rated 5 stars.taxi rates varied from 10 to 15 euro one way. the best time to hop in the pool would be in the late afternoon when the sun has heated it a bit.also just a little tip regarding the slide n splash park. The park provides a bus which picks up at various hotels for 9 euro. if you ask at reception they can ring the park and ask the bus to make an exception for you and pick you up at the campsite 10 mins walk away.

We were a group of 6 and booked here to spend 6 days visiting the Algarve region. We couldn't have asked for better! The apartment /villa had absolutely everything we could have needed and was very clean. There was daily cleaning with change of towels 3 times per week and weekly change of bedsheets. Fully equipped kitchen with even some food supplies to get us started for our first breakfast ( nice touch)! It had a washing machine and clothes rack to dry our clothes , in room safe, flat screen tv, iron and ironing board, wi-fi, covered parking sheltered from the sun, outdoor patio with table and chairs as well as long chairs and straw hut. It is quiet, peaceful with nice greenery. There was landscaping work going on but this had no impact on the beauty of the scenery and peacefulness of this place. Nice to sit out in early am and hear the sounds of nature ( doves, cows in the distance....). It has all the accommodations needed for families ( pool, sauna, tennis, soccer, gym, restaurant etc). Other than pool and tennis, we didn't get to use the other accommodations as we were too busy visiting this beautiful region with one nicer beach after another.... Although there were several families with young children, it was still peaceful and never felt crowded (pool area). There is a kids pool and a play area also. They supply pool towels. Whenever we had an issue and called the front desk, it was always dealt with promptly and professionally. Luca , at the front desk, was always very accomodating and helpful in answering all our questions and giving us needed information. We communicated by email prior to booking and once again, always prompt and informative with his replies. There was also a young lady who received us at check in and gave us a tour of the facilities as well as offering us a welcome drink(sorry I don't remember her name) who was also very friendly and welcoming. We used the computer on the last day to print our boarding passes without difficulty. The front desk closes at midnight so they give you the code for the gate if you arrive later than that. We had to leave in early am, so just had to leave key on table and lock the door.
Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about this place and would return without hesitation. Maybe just a suggestion, would extend pool hours from 8 pm to 10 pm. Otherwise, really a hidden gem!!!

Overall

We visited April 2017, family of 4 + baby of 5 months. Brand new, immaculate resort. Well stocked practically, ample parking, safe and very suitable for families. 'Quiet' with few activities etc at less busy times. Preferred to Belmar, Cascade, Sensimar Lagos where we've been before in all but food service (see below) although this may be more true of quieter times (e.g. April).

Room

TV (few English channels), Bluetooth connecting hifi, DVD player. Good wifi- each room has its own fast router.

Bath/shower with excellent water pressure.
Kitchen unit has kettle, microwave, toaster, oven/ grill, large washing machine, good filter coffee machine, fridge/ freezer.

Beds are twin which have to be pushed together for couples which is a pain, cot for infant available on request.

Aircon units in main room and bedroom. Sofa bed in main room is large and comfy.

Pool

Spotless with ample sunbeds, shades, bean bags, large beds/ sofas with shades. Drinks/ food service by pool. Baby/ toddler pool too.

Note that pools aren't heated and even in 25 degrees+ (April) are cold enough to warrant using a wetsuit (which many did).

Good children's play area (swings etc) by the pool too. All padded out and again, near-new

Restaurant/ food/ bar

Good dinner menu with steaks, pork, lamb etc. Snacks (burgers & chips €6, sandwiches etc) all available at very reasonable prices. Bar is excellent and well stocked with local super bock beer on tap. Service is extremely polite and bend-over-backwards in terms of effort although they are all very 'new'

Gym

Absolutely superb. Air con, sky tv, running machines, cross trainer, free weights, floor mats, ample weights machines and benches. Private trainer on request (circa €200 for a set of sessions I think). Water and towels provided.

Access to beach/ town

Beach is not really walkable (45+ min walk to Luz), taxis into Lagos are circa €10 each way and are easy to book. If you're eating out, Onda Norte (local meats), Portafinos (Italian, on the marina), Veneza (Portuguese, superb steaks and local cuisine), No Patio (fine dining, French/ local food).

This resort is amazing! The people who work here are so friendly, welcoming and helpful from the moment you arrive to your departure. Marianne, both Bruno's, Jose the ladies who refresh the houses. Everyone!
Cars parked in the car park have shelter from the very hot weather.
The houses are air conditioned, modern and well equipped with utensils etc, the appliances are simple to use, they are cleaned daily on weekdays by the friendly staff (which was a nice surprise).
There is also a safe.
The upstairs bedroom is a mezzanine so not the least bit soundproofed if you have kids upstairs. We kept ours up later as you may expect but you can always use the patio for conversation, etc.
There is free wifi in the house and a TV, DVD player and stereo. I would recommend taking an hdmi cable and a 3.5mm jack if you like to play movies through the TV or music from your mobile device.
There is free wifi at the clubhouse too but we couldn't get the password to work but we'd paid for roaming on our iPhones anyway so no big deal for us.
We spent loads of time in and around the pool (the area is cleaned daily in the morning) where our 9yo made new friends from France, Italy, Germany and Portugal. Couples were also present at the resort and most were forgiving of the kids for enjoying themselves and being occasionally splashed with water droplets.
There were children from babies to toddlers and up to teenagers present and all were happy to play well together. Parents are requested to stay with their children as there is no lifeguard. The pool has gentle steps in at the shallow end which is approx 3ft deep going up to approx 5 & 1/2 ft in the deep end. It was not heated but the sun did a good enough job whilst we visited. There are currently no 'toys' or items for kids to play with so a ball, inflatables, etc are recommended to entertain your children.
The 'clubhouse' features a well stocked bar with a variety of cocktails, wines, beers and soft drinks on offer for drinking in or 'taking away' to the pool area in plastic glasses and also a market for some essentials. The food and drinks were fairly reasonably priced but I would suggest there could be better incentives to encourage guests to stay in rather than go out and investigate other eateries! The facilities are open to the public so visitors will notice people just turning up to join in the fun.
We used the tennis court just once - not really our thing. The court is excellent and the equipment virtually brand new so all good.
We ventured to use the BBQ area one evening. We bought charcoal but there were no utensils provided. These may have been kept in the clubhouse but we managed without. It took some doing but after a few hours we'd got hit enough coals to cook but it was dark by the time we ate. Still it was fun nonetheless!
We used the gym on several occasions and again the equipment is well maintained and nearly new. There is air con and a TV with music channel which helps with motivation for when you're struggling like me!
We also used the football pitch most days although this was best done before about 10am otherwise it was too hot to comfortably enjoy playing. Again take your own ball or purchase one from one of the local supermarkets. We tried both the Intermarche and Continente and found the latter slightly cheaper as it had some reasonable offers whereas Intermarche had none. Continente also has Sportzone which I found out too late! :-(
There were ATMs at both for withdrawing €s. Most staff speak better English than I do. In fact many of the people we met were able to hold a conversation in English which makes me feel very lazy but it is a common language for many visitors from wherever they come. We are lucky I guess.
All in all it was a fabulous holiday with terrific memories to take away!
Thanks for reading and please look at my other reviews on the Algarve region.
Tchau for now!

Wow, what an amazing resort, which has an exclusive and spacious feel, 5 star service and staff that cannot do enough for you. My wife, 15 month old and myself stayed for 8 nights in May, beforehand we had several questions regarding cots and other amenities, all were answered quickly, informatively and even sent pictures. We stayed in a 2 bed villa, the quality and attention to detail really did make us say WOW, there was a full kitchen and a washing machine as well so we didn't have to pack as much clothes. The service provided was second to none, the villa was cleaned everyday and the towels changed every other. There is also so much to do, immaculate swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, kids playground with trampoline, tennis court, crazy golf, volleyball and football pitch on grass. The restaurant which is separate is also definitely worth a visit for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We don't normally return to the same resort but I already intend to come back next year as it was that good.

P.s thanks for sending my watch back to the UK, you truly are a great resort.

We are a family 2 adults and 3 children. We stayed at the resort for 10 days. We could have stayed another 10 days. The resort was a very positive experience for us. Everything worked so well at the resort. It is a fabulous place for having a relaxed and quiet vacation. There resort is new and extremely well maintained. The staff at the restaurant, bar, cleansing and reception are all extremely nice and service minded. The pool is perfect and there are so many facilities such tennis court, football field, minigolf etc. The apartment are very big, beautiful and well equipment with a huge terrasse. There is only one thing missing - "nothing at all".
