Many old interesting features, furnished with original furniture.Great breakfast and Catarina who hosts is excellent - warm and welcoming. Old style - if you're looking for a modern hotel this is not it, but it has everything you need and is historic, charming and calm.

If you are looking for the Ritz or a high end glitzy hotel this is not your place. This is a fantastic hotel in a large, old European estate home. It has been converted to hotel rooms, each decorated in its own way with large bathrooms. The rooms are very large compared to your usual European hotel rooms. The breakfast is served outside on a covered veranda and is plentiful and super tasty, with freshly squeezed orange juice. There is a pool and lounge chairs that are comfortable. But what struck me is the kindness of the people who work there. We arrived very late (1:30am) and were greeted with a smiling face and a readiness to help. The manager drove us to our car rental agency in the morning and stayed with us,as the agency was giving us the run around. I loved this place and regret not having booked it for more days. There is no question that next time I am in Faro I will be staying here.

The house itself is lovely, full of original features and furniture. The host was very kind and friendly and breakfast was great. The honesty bar was a nice touch. It's a good place to spend a night or two but the village of Estoi is super quiet so own transport recommended. There's one very nice restaurant nearby called Galeria dos Sentidos but be sure to book ahead as it's very busy - there's also a nice bar on the square opposite but they were not serving food in the evenings. On a downside we were wakened each morning by a building site next door. Our room had a terrace but no furniture to use it. The pool/garden area needs updating badly as full of broken furniture and dead plants.

Casa de Estoi is the perfect place to stay near Faro airport if you have your own car. The village is very small and well off the beaten track but Catarina ensures that everything about your stay is great. She gives you all the advice you need, including the local cafe/restaurant for late dinner, and she does an excellent breakfast.

This hotel is difficult to score, in my opinion. It is the former house of a influential landowner and much of it is preserved ( museum like) and has the original furnishings and decor . As stated in other reviews you get a guided tour from the delightful hostess/ manager on arrival. The breakfast including home cooked cakes and local jams was delicious and plentiful. On the downside, we unfortunately had a smallish room right next to the road, which is a narrow one way street through the town used all night and traffic noise interrupted sleep. In addition the original bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Be aware that the automatic Google maps calendar link will send you to a street of the same name in Faro old town( both named after the owner of the house). You need to ignore this and head up North of Faro to the old small town of Estoi where this hotel is situated .

Hi, yes there are towels. Tbh I can't remember if we had our own hairdryer or hotel supplied, but the manager is so helpful I have no doubt she would produce one anyway.

Hi, it's a very small town really. It's well situated. This is a lovely property adjacent to the church. The on-site manager is delightful and I can easily recommend it. I personally wouldn't stay in Estoi for longer than 2 or 3nights.
