We are determined to visit as many UNESCO World Heritage Sites as possible! Whenever we plan a trip, the availability of World Heritage Sites in the area always plays a factor. This has been a nice focus, as none are ever disappointing, indeed some are not as spectacular as others, but all are well worth the time and effort that it takes to visit them. We live in a very interesting and diverse world and it is wonderful that people have taken time and effort to acknowledge all these wonderful places. Visiting Evora, certainly is one that should be on everybody's list of World Heritage Sites to visit. Our choice of the Evora Olive Hotel, also proved to be the right choice. (Why "Olive"? Well, that is the theme of the hotel, olive products from the olive growing area of Alentejo.) The hotel is located just inside the walls of the old city in a revitalized old building. Its interior is very modern, featuring a contemporary, minimalist decor. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. There is free wifi and free underground parking. There is an in-house restaurant where you can enjoy the morning breakfast, which may be included in the price of your room, or it can be obtained for a nominal cost. We didn't have lunch there, but we did enjoy a delicious dinner of 'Pork Cheek from Alentejo' one night. There is also a bar, where one can order from a lighter menu. The meals were well prepared and available at reasonable prices. The hotel offers many other features, all which you can view on their website. Last, but not least, one must praise the staff! We experienced extremely friendly and helpful cooperation from the staff. Thank you! And as we experienced all over Portugal, for those of us that have not mastered the Portuguese language yet, the English language was one of our commonalities. So, as to the question, would I recommend this hotel, or more importantly, would I stay here again, the answer is yes. And yes to the question that you should also be asking, the hotel was very careful in following Covid protocol. As I previously stated, we came here to experience Evora's history. The hotel is so very appropriately situated, close to almost everything, only a walk away. The Geraldo praca is about 500 metres away, Evora Cathedral, 600 metres, the Roman Temple, a six minute walk, the Capela dos Ossos (the Chapel of the Bones), located next to The Church of St. Francis, again only a few minutes walk away. These are only a few of the places you will want to visit. Take a stroll to see the Roman Baths that were discovered in 1987 during an archaeological dig in Evora City Hall. One other thing, eating in the hotel's restaurant is nice and convenient, but because of the hotel's location, it is of course, also very close to other fine establishments. You are also just a stones throw away from some very fine shopping! Assuming that you have a vehicle, you will have to pay visits out to Cromeleque dos Almendres and The Great Dolmen of Zambujeiro. These Megalithic monuments are located less than half an hour from the hotel. On your ride back, you can drive under the Aqua de Prata Aqueduct, started by King Joao III in 1532, a very impressive structure! Please note, this is only a short list, you will have much more to explore if you have the time. As you can see, a visit to Evora should be on your list of things to do in the world, and staying at the Evora Olive Hotel, a very logical choice. P.S. We are travelling during Covid times, so restrictions are in place and because of the emerging variant, Omicron, we are facing the possibilities of more. So caution is in order. We arrived a few days before Portugal's requirement of having a Covid test upon arrival came into effect. Which was fine, but our trip included a short visit in and out of Spain which we left until a less complicated time.

Amazingly large room in an old city is a real treat. Hotel appears quite new with wonderful facilities. Staff of hotel, bar and restaurants we're all exceedingly helpful and friendly. Joao at the Front Desk exceeded all expectations and surpassed many Concierges at InterContinental hotels. His helpful advice made our stay in Evora even better - and prompted us to extended our stay for several additional days.

Nice hotel, welcoming staff who were waiting for us. Convenient location, with a parking garage. Good WiFi. An extra token: we were leaving in the morning, when the bar was apparently closed. We asked if we could get coffee without breakfast (that was not included in our stay); they made it for us and did not charge for it.

Very nice place to stay. It is not fancy but has everything you need. The location is great. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It was a bit cold for the pool. But it was available. They also had nice terrace. Breakfast was included. And free parking was available under the building (n the basement). It was big plus. The overall parking on the streets in the city center is a bit problematic.

Amateurish team, with a couple of staff people who don’t understand hospitality and makes us feel that serving is a favor. All very inflexible with their own rules. Room temperature out of control (above 25° C) in the lobby, restaurant, and bar.
