We stayed here recently and found the hotel and the room lovely. The only issue we had was finding a place to park. The Hotel is just inside the city wall where there is small square with several roads leading out of it and a very limited space to park. I left my husband in the car and went into...

Clean room and spacious bathroom. One point of improvement in the bathroom: should have central heating also because it could become quite cold in comparison to the temperature of the room! The restaurant does not serve meals except breakfast which is quite average but one can find fresh fried eggs and fresh bread.

I do not want to give up this hotel. The building is very unique and pretty. The problem that the service was not good. The person in the reception was far from being polite or efficient - He was not nice at all. The day after, there was another one who did not speak English at all. The breakfast was...

Very nice historical hotel, with precious antique furniture well restored and very well kept, without overburdenig the space; rooms are clean And spacious, so their bathrooms, it is a place to visit even if u decide not to stay!

The hotel is in a fantastic location on the walls of the fortifications of Elvas and has ample secure parking that does not need negotiating the narrow streets of the town to get to. Our room was huge with a huge bathroom and was very well appointed. The hotel was spotlessly clean and a feature for us was the garden...

Your options to stay inside the walls are very limited, really I would give this hotel a 3.5. The location and building are excellent, both reflecting the history of the region. However my impression is that it is resting on it's laurels because it could do so much better. We had a room with a terrace and great views. The...

This hotel is lovely, but it is advertised as having a restaurant and swimming pool. If the restaurant is closed for dinner, and the swimming pool is also closed, you should tell your customers when they book. Lovely rooms, nice grounds, nice breakfast, but overall a bit of a letdown. Yes, it is quiet in April, but your customers expect...

This hotel is built into the old wall of the ancient city, right at the entrance. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the room was spacious. The lobby and hallways were elegant, and the very old place is well preserved. Our room overlooked a wonderful courtyard filled with orange trees and more of the wall in the background....

We recently spent 4 days visiting World Heritage Elvas, a tranquil city with a fascinating history. We stayed at Hotel Sao Joao de Deus, inside the city walls and had a great time exploring--the center is compact and one absolutely cannot get lost! We were able to have numerous encounters with local citizens, who were uniformly friendly and helpful. The...

It's a nice hotel, staff were very pleasant and kind. The location is very good, it's easy to get to the most interesting sights and restaurants of Elvas. Brekfast with bread , eggs, fruit, cereals, milk, coffee, cold meats, infusions..... The rooms are confortable, roomy and quiet. The building is ancient , it was an original convent and hospital later. There...
