We stayed in this lovely guest house overnight on our visit to Elvas with our four legged family member. He was very welcomed here and was made to feel like home. The guest house's host was friendly and helpful.
It is a smalls guest house with nice cozy rooms.
There is public parking across the street from the guesthouse.
I absolutely recommend to stay here!

Comfortable beds and decent shower and bathroom. AC worked well too. Great daily prices too and super location close to everything. Parking is across the street so very convenient. We really liked it and were glad we did not stay in a more expensive hotel.

The Garcia de Orta guesthouse was a perfect spot for "adventure travellers" exploring Elvas. Just inside the main town gate, and easy walking distance from the bus station. I understand this was originally part of a bigger hotel that no longer exists. It's a funny little place, in some ways--all upstairs, with really no lobby. But the proprietor was very friendly, and the room was great. A lovely shuttered window looking out south over the walls and towards the fort. The room cost ~ 35 euros or so for two, with a fully functional ensuite bath. The room was spacious, for a small Portuguese guesthouse, and very comfortable.

Although no breakfast was included, downstairs and just around the corner to the right is a neat little cafe where the locals all drop in for coffee and a pastry--with a proprietor who could, and would, make toast--almost unheard-of in Portugal and great with the good, strong Portuguese espresso.

I'd definitely stop again here if I were re-visiting Elvas, which is charming and intriguing.

Rooms are of very varying quality, though many are new, the room sizes can vary from TINY to medium, but price is the same.

location was very good. In the end we slept there for one night (had intended to do 2 nights).

Internet works only in some locations. Do note that there is no breakfast nor possibility to store things in cold.

The accommodation is fine and the location very good with free parking just across the road. We have found the mattresses hard everywhere we have been in Portugal so far but here was ok. The staff member who provided us with the map was very enthusiastic, bordering on theatrical and went through the map highlighting a route for us to take. Really liked Elvas overall and could have filled two days here, though we only spent one, with the two big outlying forts. We only had chance to drive past.

One of the cheapest you can find for the quality. The room is small but enough for a couple to be for some days. Its in an excellent location inside Elvas walls and the staff is the most friendly.
They gave us a map and clear directions for restaurants and sightseeing.

The hotel location is good, from bus terminal, walk 10 minutes, enter gates of Olivenca, turn left, you can find a yellow building, that is the hotel. This is a home operated hotel, only several rooms, the room is not large, but clean & comfortable. The is a small balcony, one can review the scenery. The onwer is a nice lady, who provided a town map, & told us how to find the sites. Elvas is a small town, one can walk all town on foot. There are two castles out the town. A small supermarket is in short distance, if you need more, walk 10 minutes can reach a large one near the bus terminal. We stayed one night, & feel it is very comfortable.

The Hostal is within view of the bus station but its uphill over cobblestones so carrying luggage best to use taxi. (7 Euros :) )
Room was small but adequate, very prettily decorated. Bathroom is enclosed in glass because window to outside is in bathroom area. Quit bright. Windows amazingly block the traffic and noise from the outside. Window faces one of the ancient portals constructed around the 12 century. The double bed was very comfortable. I asked the woman in charge if she could heat a sandwich for me; she returned it hot, with a table cloth, napkins, plates on a tray to use the small table in the room. To boot, she gave me a small jar of delicious, homemade plumb fruit preserves. There is no lift. We were on the 3rd floor and the air conditioning was great.
Rooms and hallways were kept very clean. There was no general gathering room. Only stayed there two nights, would definitely stay there again.
