Spent 3 nights here touring minas de Sao domingos itself and then pomaro on the Guadiana, serpa and mertola. Hotel was busy at the weekend but lots of space and large pool terrace for sunbathing. We had a 'superior room' in the old part of the hotel and this was large and comfortable with a huge marble bathroom and jacuzzi...

An incredible place ( a very large old monastery ) which has been transformed into an hotel 20 years ago . They did not do a very good job at that time and now you see it even more. A bit a dead place . Probably because it is out of the main flow of a region rich with beautiful...

The Alantejo is a wonderful area. This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful part by a lake (with a beach) near the very nice town of Mertola. The Hotel has beautiful grounds a great swimming pool and a lovely terrace. It also has a very nice pool. The common parts are very nice. We had upgraded our room to...

What I found good: The hotel is located in a great place, quiet and inserted in the middle of nature (nature reserve). It has river beaches nearby that are fantastic for walks and baths. What I found bad: When I chose, the hotel was mainly the possibility of using an observatory with telescope that was announced in the coo of...

New and quiet hotel. Breakfast was very poor in terms of the type of hotel that is (a 4 star hotel) and was very short on staff, everyone was doing everything with almost none management. The place is very beautiful and the rooms were good. The room service in terms of cleanliness was not very good, dishes with rest of...

Everything was excellent. Our room was very spacious, with an enormous bathroom which was great for wheelchair access. Dining in the restaurant was a delicious experience, great steaks and regional black pork as well as tasty vegetarian options all washed down with an extremely fruity house white. The staff were very attentive at all times. Beyond the lovely grounds there...

The hotel room was very comfortable and had a balcony with an amazing view over the lake. The restaurant food was very very good but it's not cheap. A normal price for a hotel restaurant. The gym was very poor.

Robert, the new manager was exceptional in attending to our needs. They had a special event the first night and the dining room was reserved so the chef prepared a private meal for us, quite a nice touch. We upgraded to a spa room and I am not sure if it was worth it as I believe all the rooms...

A wonderful setting in what I believe was the former Catholic Church for the English mine workers. We took an interesting cycle ride to the old mine works. We worth a visit, very quiet and relaxing setting.

Lovely hotel set in the small old mining village of São Domingos in the exact location where the director of the now extinct mines used to live. Beautifully decorated, the rooms are a bit basic, tv sets need replacement as they are dated, in an era where LCD's are common everywhere! Warmly welcomed at arrival with my partner by friendly...
