We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here. A homely, stylish small guest house. Comfortable bedroom. Plenty of hot water and free wifi which works best in the lounge area. Maria is a fantastic host, doing everything to make our stay enjoyable. There are some small restaurants in the village but not sure if they were open at night. We thoroughly...

It is a beautiful place to stay. Tortel is only reachable by boardwalks. The lodge is up a lot of stairs. However it is worth it to go there. The rooms are comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner here and those were very nice. The service is good. They helped us with advice on our trips. They are very friendly.

We try to visit the place and have lunch but the person was very unfriendly. We understood that she has a lot of work to do so we ask to enter just to have a drink, but she was by the door blocking the entrance as we were criminals (2 couples). I will never come again to this place.

Today one may get to Caleta Tortel by car driving the 22 kilometers gravel road, that branches off from the last section of Carretera Austral, before reaching Villa O'Higgins. This relatively new road allows access via ground transportation to Caleta Tortel. It was opened only on 2003, and until then the only possible access was by marine transportation. This fact...

Hard walk to get up there but worth it. Cozy lodge and friendly and intelligent hosts. Great food , service and advice. Would be nice if someone would trim some trees to recover a stunning view. A hub for amazing eco-trips.

Tortel is the next to the last stop as you head south non the Carretera Austral. Until ten years ago, you could only reach it by sea. Now, you park your car in a parking lot and walk to the town on boardwalks. It's impossible to reach anywhere with a heavy suitcase. A backpack is best, as we learned the...

Stayed two nights with friends and took advantage of the three course evening meal offered for $20,000 peso per person. Delicious home cooked food made and prepared by host. Vegetable soup, fresh pasta with king crab or local mushrooms, cold desert similar to pannacotta. Wine available. Breakfast was substantial with home made rolls, scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice, tea or...
