Our short stay at the Battunga Cottages was a lovely, relaxing experience. The setting was very peaceful with views through the trees and across the creek to the surrounding hills. Lots of wildlife and no intrusive outside noises. The property is secluded and a great base to explore the Clare valley. Kerry met us on arrival with a fresh loaf of bread and our cottage was comfortable and well appointed with abundant delicious fresh food to enjoy. We certainly rate this as one of our most enjoyable short holidays.
We were booked in for 3 nights at Kerry’s place. Tasteful furnishing, very clean, homely and humble. Veranda is looking at loved the garden, with bridge, sometimes visited by a cute kangaroo family. Lovely to be up in the hills and hear the wildlife, enjoy the starry sky and breathe the crystal clean air. The host is very responsive and thoughtful. We were welcomed by fresh loaf of bread, complementary bottle of delicious rose and dark chocolate by our bedside. Kitchen/living room as well as refrigerator was packed with goodies like fresh fruit, nibbles, fresh eggs and other yummy food for breakfast. Kerry is blessed with the love and enthusiasm for this kind of the business.
We absolutely love this place and the host is super friendly. The stay was peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is lovely and gorgeous. Kerry kindly prepared all kinds of fresh food and drinks tailored to our tricky dairy requirements, including wine and yummy chocolates. There is hiking trail nearby so we went for an early morning walk which was awesome. While enjoying our breakfast, we also saw 2 kangaroos going down hill from the window, making us feel so close to the nature. We surely will come back here.
The Battunga Cottages are so beautifully set up, with abundant and high quality, local produce and amenities. Kerry and Mark are exceptional hosts and the location is perfect for exploring the region. It was great for a weekend away with girlfriends, to sit and chat with nature views from every window and sharing a beautiful cup of herbal tea. All the wineries and hotels of the Clare Valley are easily accessible as well as the resiling trail. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to have a peaceful and tranquil stay.
Battunga Cottages are located on a picturesque, peaceful, rural property. Our cottage was extremely comfortable, well appointed and well stocked with quality products and produce. Kerry our host made us most welcome, and touches such as home made bread (still warm), a bottle of local wine in the fridge, a selection of snacks and fresh flowers in the cottage made for a great start to our visit to the Clare Valley.
