This fantastic B&B is located in the heart of the beautiful historic center of Ypres and is easily accessible. Free parking is available near the B&B! We got a wonderfully luxurious room (orange delight) that had both a shower and a lovely large bath and wonderful beds! We could also make coffee and tea in the room and bath products were also provided. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast with a view of the courtyard and received a lot of tips to make our stay even more fun and interesting. Hostess Joke did absolutely everything to make the stay as fantastic as possible! There is also a cozy lounge with a number of interesting books about the region, artists and history and for newspaper lovers there are old copies from all over the world. We will definitely go back to explore the region further by bike and to be pampered! Highly recommended!

The B&B in a fully restored mansion is ideal for exploring Ypres. Just 3 minutes from the Grote Markt, you are close to everything, for example to visit In Flanders Field or the Ypres museum. Just 5 minutes from the Menin Gate, where you can experience the Last Post at 8 p.m., but you can also take a walk during the day on the Veste, the ring walls around the city. The B&B itself is completely modern with everything you need with 4 rooms (40m²) that are very nicely decorated with a fantastic shower and bath and a lovely single/double bed. You can choose between the street side (luxury room) and the back side (superior room) and it is best to choose the back side because of street noise. The hostess is very friendly and helpful and if we come back to Ypres, we will definitely come back here. Thanks Joke+

We only stayed at B&B Sabbajon for one night as part of a road trip from the UK to Italy. The accommodation is very well located for easy walking into the centre of Ypres and has the benefit of free road parking very close by ( less than 2 minutes walk). Jo is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome at her B&B even though we were only staying overnight. Jo was not there when we arrived but made sure to meet us later in the evening when we returned from our evening meal in the town. She offered us to join her for a drink in the lounge area and was interested to hear of our plans for our road trip. She was very knowledgeable about Ypres and the various museums, memorials and cemetaries around the area. The accommodation was clean, tasteful and comfortable. There is no facility for dinner but there is an honesty bar for drinks and snacks and plenty of choice for dinner in the town (though many were closed on Mondays we discovered!) Breakfast was served by Jo in the dining room and with ample choice including freshly cooked eggs on request and home made jams. Unfortunately, we only had limited time here on this visit but plan to return in the future to spend some time visiting some of the WW1 sites/museums. We would definitely look to stay at B&B Sabbajon when we do.

There are many negatives here that have been highlighted by previous travellers and yet no attempt to fix by the owner. The internet wifi is unusable. It takes nearly 5 minutes to download a search for local restaurants or 3 minutes to download a simple email from gmail. You need your own data plan. The price of breakfast is ridiculous at EUR 20 which defeats the point of a “BnB”. There is a trip hazard when you walk in the door. I rolled my ankle on the gap in the entrance foyer . The street noise is unbearable until 11pm as the property is located on a main road that has cobble stones. Our room was not serviced during our stay, which makes you feel like it is a basic Airbnb apartment, not the boutique hotel as advertised on their website.
The location is good and parking is close , but communication with the owner is poor and I would recommend a local hotel rather than returning here.

We slept here one night.
The room was okay and tidy, the bed was comfortable.
The key (card) to the room is in the central hall without a note, we left a voicemail from the owner but we were not called back.
The breakfast was very unkempt, the person who had prepared breakfast went home because he was sick. After that there was no one left. There was thick green mold on the open jam jar and a little mold on the other jam jar. In my opinion, there was also not enough toppings - bread/sandwiches for all hotel guests.
And there is a refrigerator with a dirty brown/yellow door behind the "reception" counter.
We will certainly not return to this location.

We arrived earlier than anticipated, and immediately was shown the most wonderful room (all be it on the second floor). The room and en-suite bathroom were spacious, beautifully decorated and had the usual refreshment facilities. The owner was most accommodating, and provided a lovely buffet breakfast, with options of cereal, pastries, breads and cooked items. We were also given discount vouchers for local attractions and advice as to places to visit which met our desires.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at B & B saBBajon as it is lovely. Our room was large, light and airy, well equipped and clean. The location is great and breakfast is delicious.
Mrs Jo is a fantastic host, communication was great and she is very friendly and happy to answer any questions.
I would definitely recommend this B and B and if we are ever in Ypres again would stay for a third time!
Many thanks Mrs Jo!

Cute B&B situated in the heart of Ypres. My room was tastefully decorated in a contemporary style (no chintz!), extremely well-appointed (also and especially the bathroom) and very comfortable. Charming host and friendly, competent staff.

Nothing to complain about, very friendly manager, a spacious, neat room, we had the sweet chocolate, b&b right in the center, parking space for our bicycles a few streets away
Tips for eating in the area
The breakfast was quite basic, but was certainly fine 👌
