We, and the couple we were with for a four-day stay, had asked for rooms with a view: we both had small but delightful rooms overlooking the canal. The welcome was wonderful, the owners and staff were unfailingly helpful with recommendations and information and the breakfasts were superb. The exterior is unremarkable, but inside the delightfully minimalist decor was enhanced...

We(me and my husband) made a reservation to Hotel Walwyck, Brugge, for a standard double room. When we got there, we received a poor, inferior room, under the staires(room no 2); it seemed like "maid's room". Of course, that was the smallest room in the hotel, very different from the pictures on the website. It was not a three stars...

The gentleman from Inverness evidently had a most unfortunate experience. And he had a bad time getting there, could it possibly have coloured his judgement? We went from our home in Japan (a country where cleanliness is an article of faith) and we enjoyed the hotel a lot. We didn't notice cigarette smells, though as non smokers we usually pick...

This is a great place to stay, being close to the centre of Bruges, but in a quiet location. I was surprised to see an earlier review criticising the staff, as we found them all exceptionally helpful. There is a very high standard of cleanliness in the rooms and the bathrooms were immaculate. There was an excellent breakfast selection to...

Just got back from a trip to Brugge and would definitely recommend staying at the Walwyck. Got off the train and easily took a bus to the Market Square. It was a 5 minute walk to find the Walwyck Hotel. It's a few blocks away on a very quiet street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I'd describe the...

Good points: Breakfast was great and the beds were...

Have recently returned home from a short break away in Brugge. We only had a one night stay but the Walwyck Hotel was fabulous. The room was warm, (much needed in April!), clean and tidy. We had an excellent view out onto the canal. The bathroom was a great size and the large bath very relaxing. The room was spacious...

We went as a family group to celebrate my husband`s 70th birthday with two adult daughters and one boyfriend. We found the decor in the hotel so relaxing, I like minimilism! We shared a triple room with one daughter but she complained that we snored so the hotel very kindly let my my husband and Ihave a family room for...

My husband and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Walwyck at the end of March and would definitely return there if we are ever fortunate to go to Bruges again. We were dropped off at the Walwyck with fellow travelers that were staying at other hotels and were jealous that they didn't pick the Walwyck! The gentleman...

All Staff extremely helpful, willing and able as well has being multi lingual. Breakfast just what you need in the morning. I would highly recommend this hotel on a...

“There's no elevator and after the 1st (American 2nd) floor it is a small curved stair case - and the top floor could be warmer on hot days (fan provided in room). I stayed in the standard room at the top which was a great value and very comfortable - they do have more deluxe rooms overlooking the canal though!”
