Boutique Hotel Sablon is often lauded for its modern and stylish atmosphere, with artful decorations adorning both the rooms and common areas. While the hotel's rooms receive accolades for their spaciousness and contemporary design, a few guests have noted the lack of closet space and bathroom doors. Cleanliness is another strong suit, with numerous travelers highlighting the immaculate rooms and comfortable beds. The staff's warm and attentive service, especially during breakfast, frequently earns high marks. However, opinions are divided on the hotel's value, as some guests find the rates reasonable while others are less convinced, citing amenities and parking concerns. The location is widely praised for its tranquility and convenience to attractions, though limited parking is mentioned as a minor inconvenience.

This was our first trip to Bruges, and we are so glad we stayed at Boutique Hotel Sablon. The location is perfect: on a quiet side street, but just a few minutes walk to the center of Bruges. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored historic building, with the rooms being completely updated. The common areas provide a comfortable setting to relax. And the staff was friendly and helpful.

From the first second where I was welcomed by name, promptly checked in, and accompanied to a fantastic room - I could tell this hotel was something special. While among the oldest hotels in the city it has been entirely remodeled and is sparkling clean, tastefully modern, and graced by interesting decor and artwork. Room is spacious, has everything travelers desire, and the views from the room were exceptional.
Breakfast was out of this world good. I told my friendly server that I had a great sleep and must have woken up a king. The staff go the extra yard to make your stay exceptional.

This hotel is very underrated and should be considered in the top 3 in Bruges (it would rank as high in most any place).

Bravo to the Hotelier and their staff. Job well done.

Like all property, the most important detail for this hotel is its location, and it is perfectly situated close to the Christmas Markets, restaurants and shops while being tucked away in a quiet street. The hotel itself was fully renovated in 2019, just in time for the pandemic, so the rooms essentially still look fresh and new. They are not the biggest of rooms but well laid out with all that you need, such as a fridge, safe, coffee maker etc. The rooms are also quite quirky with interesting artwork and a light-up sink. Finally, the staff are excellent, friendly and efficient. There is a always a cold drink and cake available in the lobby which feels more like someone's drawing room than a lobby. A great place to stay for a few days in Bruges and highly recommended.

Dear We are so happy to read that you loved your stay in Bruges in Boutique Hotel Sablon. Also we would like to take the time to thank you for this review. The special artwork from around the world for the rooms and the rest of the hotel has been selected with care by the owners. The hosts are always here to do everything with passion for the guests. We don't have a typical lobby because we prefer to give our guests a special feeling in our livingroom. The cakes and the fresh fruit water are made with love by our breakfast hosts. Maybe till the next time! Kindest regards Team Sablon

Three of us stayed for two nights in this lovely modern hotel converted from an old building.

The Sablon staff were extremely helpful and discreet, personable and very well chosen for their superb customer service attitude.

Breakfast was a real highlight. Everything you could want for, unrushed and all of top quality.

Rooms were individually styled (we had two) and furnishings / facilities / comfort levels were 5-star.

Highly recommended and we would stay here again.

(One minor point. It’s a discretely located hotel and the “Sablon” sign on Kopstraat indicates the location. There wasn’t an obvious external ‘Reception’ sign on a wall/door, but it’s behind the courtyard tables/chairs/statues and leads into what is called “The Living Room”. Maybe we just couldn’t see the sign.)

Dear Thank you very much for your kind words. We are happy to hear that our staff and breakfast left a good impression. We always strive for the best possible service and care, in any way possible. Here at Hotel Sablon the concept of "Feeling like you're coming home" is very important to us. This is why we have opted not to have a reception sign outside. Thank you again for the very positive review and we hope to welcome you in Bruges again in the future. Kind regards,

Though located in the town centre with a busy street around the corner the hotel is a haven of peace. You'll notice it as soon as you have entered the lovely courtyard where you can have a drink and snack. We had arrived a bit early but our room was ready. Check-in included some nice overview of what to do and where (not) to eat at Bruges (thank you, Sofia) and an arrangement for a small cappuccino and croissant breakfast instead of the large breakfast normally offered.

We stayed two nights in a 2nd floor deluxe room which was spacious, stylish and clean. The bed was comfortable and we did not hear a sound from other guests. One of the stylish features of room 33 was the "open" shower and lit washbasin. I know that this is a popular concept but I personally prefer a closed bathroom. (So if you feel the same make sure to tell the reception as there are sufficient rooms that offer more privacy...)

There is also a bar and though not on the bar menu the two elegant "barkeepers" we met in the evening mixed us a reasonably good whiskey sour, even using an egg white.
By the way - the breakfast room is one of the nicest I have seen...

Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review. It can be fairly busy in the city and we think it is important that people can still find their peace and quiet back with us. That is why we have our cosy terrace or our relaxing living room. We try to make your stay as unique as possible. That is why we like to give our nice tips about Bruges. Thats how we try to make the check-in a bit more personal. There are several rooms, including rooms with a closed bathroom. There is certainly a possibility to ask for this. The bar staff tries to make you feel as at home as possible. Do you like to drink a drink that is not on the menu, we are certainly willing to make it as good as possible with the options that are available.` We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the future. kind regards Team Hotel Sablon

We booked this hotel because of its quirky style and recently refurbished modern rooms. This hotel is located in between the 2 shopping streets of Bruges, very convenient walk to attractions as well.

We booked the junior suite which was very spacious for a family. The sofa bed was very useful for kids to sleep on. Room was alright. Nice amenities but no bottled water.

Parking was not within the hotel but 2 blocks away for 14€ per 24 hours.

Overall a pleasant stay.

Dear MaxLiz, Thank you very much for your nice review and score. We're happy to hear you've had a pleasant stay with us, appreciated the modern style, spacious rooms, and the central, yet quiet, location. Due to Covid measures, we're currently not allowed to put free bottles of water in the room as we usually do. Ask one of the hosts for bottles of water, or anything else, and we'll happily provide them. Kind regards, Alexis, Hotel Sablon

From arrival at the unassuming entrance on a very quiet street (but still minutes from all the sights) you know this is going to be a relaxing experience.

The reception / living room area is where you arrive and the staff are friendly and no request seems too much.

We stayed in a junior suite on the second floor, a large and comfortable room with a view of the courtyard. Nice modern feel and top quality toiletries in the bathroom.

The place is quiet, and definitely provides a haven but still a very central location. They even have a small bar (their brilliant team seem to be receptionist/bartender/bellhop/tour guide and anything else you need)... So we had a drink on the terrace one afternoon, in an expensive tourist city the bar prices are very reasonable.

Breakfast here is incredible, the breakfast room is classy and the best hotel breakfast I've ever experienced - no standing in line at a buffet here, everything you might need and more from standard eggs, bacon, meats, cheeses and the biggest selection of different breads I've ever seen! Also treats like pancakes and chocolate sauce. Omelettes are made to order and you can even help yourself to a glass of champagne.

It isn't cheap here, we booked their summer 3 nights for the price of 2 promotion (room only) and with the addition of breakfast at €27 pppn our midweek stay was €700. It is worth every penny though.

Spoilt for choice in Bruges with many lovely hotels, Sablon must rank high with discreet comfort and good value for money. Close enough to the station and parking yet only moments from the delightful centre. Our room looked out onto the side road making it quieter at night relative to some places I’d imagine. The buffet breakfast was stunning: amongst the best we have enjoyed.

This hotel is in a great central location for exploring Bruges on foot with plenty of restaurants , bars and shops close by.

Staff were very friendly and helpful when required. Can’t comment on breakfast or drinks as there were so many great options close by.

We found certain areas of the hotel needed a little more attention to detail ie. debris in lobby and staircase wasn’t hoovered during our 3 night stay.

Our room (room 3), appeared very tired. We were told that the air conditioning wasn’t working when shown to our room and there were multiple scuffs and marks along the walls and skirting boards. The power socket/light switch and toilet roll holder were both coming away from the wall in bathroom and the extractor fan was not working. There were also multiple dark hairs on the mattress protector.

The room seemed to have a strange odour that we could not identify and was persistent during our stay. We also felt that the storage for clothes etc was severely lacking and small things were missed for example no saucers for coffee cups/dirty spoons.

We booked this hotel mainly due to the numerous positive reviews on trip advisor/Google and were possibly just unfortunate with the room we were allocated.

We can only give our review based on our experience and feel that for the price paid, it did not represent good value. We would look to stay elsewhere when returning to Bruges.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so glad that you enjoyed the location of our Hotel aswell as the the Staff. How unfortunate to hear that you had a disappointing experience with your room. Our aircondition system is currently switched off as we are in winter time, and it is not required with the cold temperatures outside. Our staff usually explain this, aswell as how to switch on/off the radiators. We wish you would have signaled these inconveniences to our staff and they would have happily given you a different room. This way we would have made your stay enjoyable, aswell as sorted out the problems in your room. We do hope we can welcome you back in the near future and leave you with a much better impression of our hotel. Best regards, Team Sablon

Dear Mrs. Delaware, First of all, I would like to thank you for your interest in Hotel Sablon. We have family rooms available in the hotel. This room type has a double bed and a sofa bad for the children. If you would like to have twin beds for the children, It's best to book two separate rooms. One room with a double bed and the other room with twin beds. It's not a problem to give you 2 rooms next to each other. If you need any further information, you can always contact us directly by email. With kind regards, Julia Van Doninck

If you travel by car, we recommend Parking ZILVERPAND, at 300 meters from the Hotel. There are 2 entrances: Zilverstraat and also exit in Dweersstraat. €8,70 / 24H. If parking ZILVERPAND is not available, we can also recommend you public parking is 'T ZAND at 500 meters. 8,70 / 24H.
