Detailed Reviews
We stayed one night at this hotel which is in a great location being around 10 minutes from market square. Although we had both booked single rooms and from past experience had kept our room expectations low the rooms were modern, large with 2 double beds a little table and chairs and all the usual mod cons. The bathroom was lovely with a bath and shower over (the shower was a little low, anyone over 5’ 4 is going to have to duck. The staff were very pleasant and they will keep your luggage for you which is very handy. There is a very small bar and 2 other small seating areas. Breakfast was great with full English on offer at the morning buffet as well as all the usual cereal etc. If we ever went back it would be to this hotel.

This Hotel was excellent with no faults that I could mention, Staff good enjoyed talking to Thomas while having a drink, check in and check out easy. Location is a 10 minute walk to Grote Market but this is no problem because the restaurants around the Hotel are a bit cheaper excellent breakfast place opposite (Carpe Diem) and a few drinking establishments in the same street, the Hotel has an underground car Park although a bit expensive ( 20 a night) but I think parking is at a premium in Central Brugge. Overall Excellent Hotel and Location. Will use again for my next stay in Brugge.

I have travelled worldwide for a number of years and would think that this is one of the best hotels that I have stayed at.
The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and the rooms were spacious. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom had a sitting area. Our bathroom had both a shower and a bath
The staff were all very helpful
The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices
It was only 10 minutes from the station and the town centre and there were a number of excellent restaurants within a short distance.
In short an excellent experience with nothing to complain about

Good central location, 10 mins walk from the train station and close to the central market square and other attractions. The breakfast selection was really good and the staff friendly (if a little overly attentive at breakfast ... don't leave a spoon unattended for 10 seconds, or they'll clear it away!). The room, though, was over heated (we had to open the window to sleep) and the mattress was very soft and squishy, and the pillows hard. They were also renovating, with skirting missing, wires hanging from a ceiling and clothes on the floor, presumably to collect leaks, in the halls. We weren't made aware of that when booking, which was disappointing.

Dear Ross1711uk, Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback about your recent stay in our hotel. First of all, I apologize as we did not meet your expectations regarding your stay. I will discuss all your feedback with the management, because it is very important for us that our guests are satisfied in all areas of the hotel. Our staff at the breakfast are very attentive and it is with their best intention to provide the best service. I assume that they were not aware the you still used the spoon as they took it away. Luckily, we have more spoons than just one. Have you been to the reception to ask for a different pillow? We do have some options at the reception regarding the pillows. I would recommend for the next time to check this with the front office. There are indeed some renovating going on in the hallway. This has to do with some unforeseen circumstances. We hope to finish this soon as possible, the rooms are still in the same (good) conditions as we did not renovated them this year. After all, we are delighted to read that your liked our location. We are indeed very close to the main market square and tourist attractions like Lake of Love, brewery De Halve Maan and the Beguinage. We are looking forward to welcome you back in our hotel to meet this time your expectations. Kind regards, Lucas - Guest services

Have been to Bruges many time but first time staying at Hotel Academies, arrived at 1pm on Friday the lady on reception was very helpful and gave us lots of information, our room was ready (we were early) so stored our luggage for us. We came back at 4pm to be given our room keys. We booked a executive room (301) which was lovely and spacious. Well appointed bathroom with plenty of towels. Tea and coffee making facilities. Bottle water replaced daily. Good size fridge. Bed was really comfy. Nice to have a seating area and a full size wardrobe with plenty of hangers.
Loved the decor in the room and throughout the hotel beautiful flower display and warm contemporary decorations. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Perfect location for shops, bars and historic sites.

We stayed for four nights, two couples in two double rooms and it was very enjoyable. It was warm, clean and comfortable. We were on the ground floor overlooking the courtyard. We were room only but chatted to others who were B&B, they said the breakfasts were very good. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The position is ideal, an easy half mile walk from the station through the Minnewater Park with lots of shops and restaurants around the area. A five minute walk into the city square. There is also a lovely little bar in the hotel and it's very reasonably priced. All in all, a great stay!

We visited Brugge for 3 days. We booked two rooms at the Hotel Academie. From arriving st the hotel reception to leaving 3 days later everything was excellent. With suoerb rooms and oversized comfy beds you could not want for more. Even usb chargers by the bed and on the desk was a bonus. With an Absolutely fantastic buffet breakfast in the morning leaves you ready to explore the many wonders of Brugge. With only a 20 minute walk from the station the hotel is situated just off the city centre. With wonderful bars, restaurants, cafe's, ice cream parlours and bakeries right outside the door this is a highly recommended place to stay.

We stayed for four nights during a Shearing's coach trip and had a lovely time. As expected for a coach group we ended up in a budget attic room with twin beds which probably ranked as one of their less glamouress rooms, but was comfortable. The air conditioning was a necessity though with being part of the roof (sloping ceilings) and struggled through the night when daytime temperatures reachwd high twenties. That said the room was cleaned daily and the shower was plenty powerful. The outstanding memory of our stay was the delicious bountiful buffet breakfasts and the great location at the southern side of the medieval centre.

Dear Englishlakedistrict, Thank you for choosing to stay at Dukes' Academie, it was a pleasure to welcome you. Thank you for taking the time to give us your honest feedback. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed your trip with Shearing's coach and that you had a great experience in our hotel. We are thanking you for highlighting the comfort of our budget cosy rooms and the outstanding breakfast buffet. Our air conditioning are not made up to temperatures of 30+ degrees. When all rooms has the air conditioning at the highest level, our machine struggles to handle it. However, we are working on it at the moment. The breakfast is indeed wonderful, there are a lot of options for everyone. We will be happy to welcome you back to the hotel very soon. Kindest regards, Lucas - Guest services

Headed to Bruges as two couples for a 50th birthday celebration. Booked via Eurostar including this hotel. Can’t say how fabulous hotel was. Location was excellent, just a 10 - 15 min walk to main square but surrounded by plenty of shops, restaurants and sight seeing options. Staff were so helpful, especially Anneke and Thomas. Offered great recommendations of places to visit and eat, including making reservations for us. Rooms were ready on arrival, well before check in time. We stayed in room 101 which was an executive room, very spacious, light and beautifully decorated. Breakfast in hotel was €20, all you can eat buffet (hot and cold food) including Prosecco if you wanted it. Would thoroughly recommend and definitely return if we book Bruges in the future.

You need to get a train from Brussels to Bruges, takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. Bruges has two exits either end of the main station concourse. From the platform where my train came in I went down the stairs to the main hall and took the exit on the left. It is only a 10 minute walk to Dukes Academie from the station.
Hello. I actually stayed there a few weeks after I raised the question and there is a bag in the room for guest laundry, although I could see a price list.
