At the Grand Hotel Casselbergh rich history is combined with modern luxury. The location, at the heart of the historical centre of Bruges - a UNESCO world heritage city - make the hotel unique. This luxurious hotel has been created out of three historical residences known as 'Casselbergh', 'Zeven Torens', and 't Fransch Schildt'. These buildings were owned and lived in throughout many centuries by leading citizens and the local aristocracy. To the rear, a new wing has been added with quality architecture that is perfectly integrated with the surrounding buildings. Grand Hotel Casselbergh has 118 elegant rooms. They combine modern luxury with the authentic charm of 18th-century Bruges. The hotel has various meeting rooms, 40 parking places, and a superbly appointed wellness centre in the 16th-century cellars. This romantic hotel is certain to enchant you and welcome you with its attentive hospitality. "Luxury of the past, designed for the future"

Nestled in the heart of Bruges, Grand Hotel Casselbergh Bruges is celebrated for its luxurious and opulent atmosphere, with guests often lauding the grand decor and sumptuous rooms. The prime location is a highlight, offering easy access to local attractions while maintaining a peaceful ambiance. The hotel's amenities, such as the indulgent breakfast buffet and spa, receive high marks, though some guests advise that certain extras may be costly. While service is generally noted as friendly and professional, a few visitors mention occasional inconsistencies. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with pristine conditions throughout the hotel. However, some guests suggest that certain rooms could benefit from updates or more thorough cleaning.

I was very pleased with Grand Hotel Casselbergh, in Bruges. Never having been to Bruges, I did not know what to expect and was hoping that the location was good, as I read online. The location wasn't good, it was PERFECT. Just a short walk to the square with the Town Hall building, and then a couple more minutes to the main square by the Belfort. It was such a great location that after buying lots of chocolate and souvenirs, we could easily stop by the hotel to drop things off or to take a quick break before venturing back out to explore. The beds were comfortable, and the linens and pillows were great. The in-room espresso was especially appreciated, and when we ran out, I called the front desk around 6am and they quickly brought me more. The spa is downstairs and is in a really cool underground sort of place, with a sauna and steam bath (which is a steam room). This was so nice after a long day of walking the cobblestone streets in the cold (we went between Christmas and New Year's Eve). The staff were friendly and spoke English. There was a little bar on the main floor but we didn't have the chance to use it. There was a mini bar in the room which was stocked with water, sparkling water, juice and liquor. The view from the Canal View room was awesome. No, you aren't looking straight at the water. But the view of the beautiful buildings was spectacular. It is a historical building, with and old part and a new part, and both are really beautiful. The bathroom had a tub and separate rainfall shower. Everything was very clean and high quality. And to reiterate, the location is perfect. Close to restaurants, too. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay in Bruges!

Ideally located hotel, smart, clean rooms we had a bath and a separate shower. Reasonably priced for such an excellent hotel. They did earmark the whole of the cost against my bank card until from confirmation of the booking until check out which did cause some inconvenience as I don’t normally keep a large balance on my current account. Staff were helpful and gave recommendations for local restaurants. Umbrellas were available at reception for all guests to use and return which we did take advantage of. Definitely recommend this hotel.

A nice hotel with high standards, renovated rooms and wellness, in the center of Brugge. The hotel parking requires reservation and good driving skills; a narrow elevator brings you and your car to the underground parking.
Rooms come with mini bar, coffee/thee corner, free fast WiFi and a bathroom with bath and shower.
Breakfast with wide choice until late morning.

This hotel was our two-night accommodation for our first visit to Bruges, Belgium. The location is excellent. Easy walk across a cobbled square to the famed Belfry and central square. You can walk anywhere and everywhere from that central location.

Our room was large, clean, modernized with huge bed and very high ceilings. Our daughter’s cot was not comfortable.

In terms of sightseeing, Our son followed the walk to all the set locations for the movie “In Bruges” and we meandered through town to the Sint-Anna Quarter to the beautiful 1770 Windmills (which are open for tours some months of the year).

On our walk back, we stopped in two second hand shops, mixing with locals and checking out possible treasures, then enjoyed a fireside spaghetti and local beer lunch at a fantastic little restaurant called Bavet. Good food, good beer, warm atmosphere, friendly staff.

The hotel was nice but we arrived the week after the hugely busy Christmas-New Years crush of tourists. Staff seemed exhausted. Decorations were being taken down and stored. It was very quiet, not a bad thing, but we found staff present, but barely. The breakfast buffet was good, everything except oatmeal. The bar/sitting rooms with the fireplaces lit were popular places to relax after a day of sightseeing.

Nice hotel.

Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel.

SPA - free use of robes and slippers was appreciated. The Hammam and Sauna are good size, however it could definitely use a pool and/or a few jacuzzis. All except 1 user were wearing bathing suits, so we kept ours on. However, we both noticed a foul stench on our bathing suits after we returned to our room. We assume that it came from the lounge chair pillows, even though we put our towels on them. There is a water fountain which was nice.

Our room was very clean and rather soundproof. There is a small but deep safe where you can fit a small laptop and tablets without problem. The bed was huge and very soft, too soft for my husband. There were 4 pillows, we each had a larger pillow and a thinner pillow. We were very hot the first night, but got cold if we took off the blanket, so we did not sleep very well. There is a thermometer in the room, but the temperature did not seem to change. The second night, I turned down the temp to 17c, but it was the same thing again, too hot with covers, cold without. There are 2 wall plugs on each side next to the bed. A coffee machine in the room. A mini bar as well. The shower was a rain shower with good pressure, no handheld nozzle though in the shower. There is also a bath.

I really liked the soap bar, it smelled very nice. I was glad there was a small sewing kit as my jacket button was about to come off. My husband forgot his hair brush, so we got a free comb from the front desk which did the job until we could go out to buy a new one.

The breakfast was nice, a lot of choices. The scrambles eggs looked very watery/slimy and the bacon was always cold but my 3.5 minute eggs were perfect. They had fresh croissants, breads and maple syrup for the pancakes.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I would recommend it.

It was our first visit to this hotel, finding the parking (which is below the hotel) was somewhat of a pickle though, we managed ... but it took some time to get there.

The hotel is very well located and many of the rooms recently underwent a renovation which was done very tasteful.

The room we stayed in was very spacious, with L'occitane amenities (great choice by the way) and situated in the main building (which also housed the bar, always handy to know...).

Breakfast was downstairs, where all the fresh ingredients were handed to you by a staff member, and the rest could be picked individually (a must nowadays in these challenging times). The only downside at breakfast was the coffee, at a hotel like this, I'd expect a better cup.

Lastly, we did notice that during our stay of one of us had an allergic reaction to the air-conditioning system (and how did we know it came from there: it went away after we exited the room, and returned when we also did).

A nice stay, but the allergic reaction however was somewhat of a downfall...

Centrally located with a touch of luxury for a reasonable price. Comfortable large beds-we asked for twins in the room as I was visiting with my teenage son and the room was set up as requested. The lounges are beautiful for an afternoon drink and the bar snacks were a nice touch. The shower was hot, the toiletries good quality and it was nice to have a coffee machine and complimentary water, but a little snack often found in hotel rooms was missing. BBC1 was available for British speakers on the room TV and there was hardly any noise so we slept well. We booked room only so I can’t comment on the breakfast, as we chose to walk out to a cafe for that. I would love to come back with the car and my husband as the shops were lovely!

Our first trip to Bruges. Extremely well priced hotel, the name is perfect it certainly is grand! Comfy and huge bed, large room with walk in shower and deep bath. The staff were excellent throughout our stay. Lovely bar area with comfy sofas and the most amazing hot chocolates! The location was perfect for what we wanted. We drove from the UK so took advantage of the underground car park, again well priced and extremely easy to use. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again when visiting Bruges!

I thought this was a very nice place to stay just steps to the main squares. Just a couple points to note; they seem pretty strict when it comes to check in. So many hotels will allow you to check in early but they literally would not allow me to check in until 3 PM on the dot. I truly got the feeling that even if the room was available they would not let me (I was so jetlagged that this just made me cranky). The staff was fantastic especially when it came to breakfast and clearing the tables and getting coffee etc. I upgraded to one of the luxury rooms and although I did not hear a sound from the street and I had light in the room both of my windows were views of the roof of this hotel.., I literally couldn’t even see out the window to anything. Again I just wouldn’t have called it an upgraded room, if you can’t even see out the window. The bottom of the window was above my head. I had to stand up on the desk to see which way the room was even facing. So just beware of that if you get room 1212. The only other thing that frustrated me was that the bar in the hotel would not give you tapwater you had to buy a tiny bottle that was 5x expensive… working in nyc, the cost of water doesnt normally bother me but did here. I did love how there was tons of lobby/sitting room space to do some reading in the evening.

Dear Planetjane Thank you for staying with us and sharing your detailed feedback We are pleased you appreciated our great staff. Our entire team gives the best to welcome you in the most ideal conditions and your comments on this subject are a great satisfaction for us. We are always willing to think along and to do an earlier check in, if possible of course. We are indeed situated in a very beautiful, historical building only a few steps away from the interesting must sees that Brugge has to offer. We are very sorry you were disappointed with the upgrade and that we were not able to meet your expectations concerning the tapwater. Your feedback is very valuable and all your comments have been shared with the relevant managers. Kind regards and wishing you a lovely day, Els, Sales & Marketing

With its warm and accommodating staff, gorgeous and comfortable rooms, perfect central location, and luxurious amenities, we absolutely adored the Grand Hotel Casselbergh. We were welcomed by a wonderful concierge named Dje, who was extremely kind and helpful. We had just gotten engaged the morning of our arrival and shared the news with her. She was so excited for us and immediately presented us with specialty Belgian chocolates and a congratulatory card — it was so sweet and memorable! Our beautiful, quiet room had a lovely view of the canal and town. The room was large and situated with a table and two comfortable chairs which overlooked the view. The lighting was soft and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious with a waterfall shower, tub, and many nice amenities including L’Occitane bath products. Another concierge named Pauline was also extremely hospitable and assisted us with calling a local restaurant where we had a reservation. She was able to cancel our reservation for us due to allergy concerns, which was much appreciated. I wish we had more time during our visit to enjoy the picturesque lobby bar, but we now have something to look forward to on our next trip to Bruges. We loved this hotel so much and would enthusiastically stay here again in a heartbeat.

Ask to stay in the old part of hotel. Rooms are beautiful. Make sure to walk to town square at twilight. Front desk recommended some amazing restaurants. There was one that was small and family owned it was French that was simply amazing. Sorry I do not remember the name

I'm not sure. Best to contact the hotel directly. I'm pretty sure there may be an age limit for safety reasons.
