This is the second time we have stayed here and always enjoy our stay. The rooms are spacious with two comfy chairs and a large bed with choice of pillows. Unfortunately it has been very hot each time and the rooms are very airless and retain the heat. Everything else about the stay was wonderful and the owners tried their...

Had the pleasure of staying here for 5 nights and wish we didn't have to leave. Check in was great with a very knowledgeable explanation of Gent and it's areas. Hotel is well run and such a pleasure to stay in with its incredible staff who was always happy to see you and help with any enquires. The hotel itself...

Stayed here for 6 days in the summer, on business but with my young daughter. We have a long list of requirements for travelling together, and this hotel ticked pretty much every box. Location was ideal near to the station and Citadel Park. The two brothers who own the hotel and worked at the reception every day were friendly and...

There were six of us staying for a long weekend. Check in was easy and very helpful with our questions re trams and travel etc. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and of a high quality with certain items cooked to order. It is close to the St. Peters railway station and trams. It is also a...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel which is in a quiet location in Ghent. The young man on reception, who is joint owner with his brother, was very polite and efficient on checking in. He organised our parking into the secure hotel car park and explained places of interest and how best to travel around Ghent. Our room was...

I came to Ghent on a choir tour with 35 people from a wide variety of backgrounds - from students with little money to older members with successful, lucrative careers. Every single person in my party was impressed with how wonderful Hotel Carlton was. I don't think I have ever stayed in another hotel that was comparable value for money....

A lovely hotel 5 minutes walk from Ghent St Peters, the main train station, and a 10 minute tram ride to the old centre of town. The owners (two brothers) are very welcoming and ready with suggestions to make one's stay enjoyable. Conveniently, they provide tram cards and add the modest cost of any trips to your bill. This is...

Great rooms and comfortable beds but the best thing about our stay was our friendly and welcoming host. He was very knowledgeable (as expected) but we felt he went the extra mile to help us enjoy our first visit to Ghent. Oh yes, gorgeous breakfast too. Loved the attention to detail - jam pots, butter dishes and fresh orange juice.

Firstly well located to the railway station, no need to deal with the local taxi drivers (not that I'm suggesting that they are bad!). Marginally walkable only to the historic town centre, but not a problem due to the quality tram service. The hotel also thoughtfully provides a discount card for the tram, which makes it very affordable. The hotel...

Best breakfast and service in Belgium! I truly recommend this hotel; staff was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast had a wide variety and excellent quality! The only but is that it has no A/C, but it shouldnt be an issue in Belgium.
