Clean and tidy, with very polite and extremely helpful staff. A hot breakfast would have been a bonus but can’t fault the hotel otherwise. Exactly as described on the tin! Just outside of town- about 10 mins ride in a taxi from the station. Very easy to Travel to local

I do wish Expedia had info on hotels in constructions zones... The staff are lovely but the location and the work site are appalling. If you are given a great rate for a brand hotel, there is always a reason.

Dear guest I agree with you that the information given to guests should be as rich and accurate as possible. We work with all websites selling our hotel to keep this information up-to-date, within the limitations that each site shows hotel information in a uniform way. That being said, it is correct that construction is taking place outside the existing building. The construction zone is well demarcated with fences and there are no noisy works going on that may hinder your stay. Also, let's be honest, nobody selects our hotel location because of the nice views. There's a car park on one side and a bit of lawn and trees on the other side. Sometimes a fluffy rabbit if you're lucky... Guests stay with us because we have a very central location near major motorways, good connection to the city center with public transport leaving just across the car park, very spacious rooms with free breakfast and reliable Wifi. And lovely staff as you have mentioned already. I hope you will give us another chance, and we hope to see you again, in Gent... Sincerely Laurens Roels, Hotel Manager

Stayed here last weekend and found that it was a great central location to visit Brussels, Ghent and Bruges. Not far from any of the three and the hotel was clean, staff was friendly and beds were comfortable. They have a typical European breakfast, onsite restaurant and a

Dear stacman7 Thank you so much for your positive comments. With the E40, E17 and R4 motorways very nearby, we are indeed very well located if you want to explore the bigger Flanders region. Even Paris or Amsterdam would be easy to reach in 2.5h from Gent.. We hope to see you again next time, and until then a big thank you from me and the team for staying with us. Sincerely Laurens Roels, Hotel Manager

I was 1 night in this hotel. It’s close to the highway so the location is ok as long as you are not looking for a nice environment with cozy restaurants and shops. The hotel should really have a major update. It looks old fashioned and has a lack of maintenance. Even the smell

Dear Marthijn, thank you very much for having taken some time to inform us about your experience. Most of our guest select our hotel because it's easy to reach, close to nearby motorways and business parks, and outside of the pedestrianized zone in Gent. If you like beautiful city center views, do try the Ghent Marriott hotel with our compliments. In terms of your other comments, I am disappointed that you did not reach out to our staff for more feedback. The smell in the corridor is actually fresh paint as we are renovating all our guest floors (did you see the big poster in the elevator?) It's all water based and should not affect your room in the evening. The bar is open till 11 pm but will remain open later if enough guests are consuming enough to make up for the cost of the waiter (the cost of staff is unfortunately very high in Belgium). After 11 pm you are welcome in the Lobby, we have a wide range of beers in our mini-shop to last all night. With regards to the room, the minibar is actually just a fridge to keep your own purchased items cool. We are a 3-star select service hotel, stocked minibars are not part of this type of hotel. Toilet paper is a very personal thing. We stock 2-ply quality toilet paper, 100% from recycled sources and Green Key Certified. With 10-thousands of students marching in Belgian streets every week demanding more from politicians to save our climate, it's really not acceptable anymore to have bleached white toilet paper in our rooms, don't you agree? Next time, do contact me, i'll be happy to have a coffee with you, share our renovation plans and the other efforts we do to be kind for nature in this hotel. Sincerely yours, Laurens Roels, Hotel Manager
