As everyone has mentioned the location is great, apart from that the staff are great, the hotel is very clean and breakfast was much better than anticipated. Bed was firm, TV had some English channels (inc BBC1) and was very quiet (we had a room on the top floor and facing the

G(h)ent is a beautiful city. This was our second trip to Belgium having previously stayed in Bruges which we loved and were unsure if Gent would measure up. We need have no fears. We travelled by Eurostar, changed at Brussels and after a (packed, standing room only) train

As soon as we arrived at the check in, we were greeted by a pleasant, friendly receptionist, which is always a good start. The room was spacious, perfectly clean and a really good bed. The only thing I miss in hotels in Belgium is lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the

Check in was straightforward, we’d paid in advance and our rooms were close together, my room was clean and whilst a bit basic, was good. Staff were friendly, bar and breakfast adequate. But the best quality of this hotel is the location and for the price I think it was

I was extremely unhappy to return from my meeting to find the "do not disturb" sign I had hung on my door to avoid having anyone in my room while I was gone removed and hung on the inside of my door handle, and my room made up. When I say "do not disturb" I seriously mean I do

Hi all, is it far or not if I only walk from Dampoort Station to the hotel?
I think a bit far. Take the tram. I also wanted to stay in ibis daamport budget to be close to that station but I didn't regret choosing this hotel :)

Hi, is there secure parking for a motorcycle and do you need to book it in advance? Thanks
Hello, As from the 3rd of April ibis Gent Centrum is located in a pedestrian zone. Cars and motorcycles can only enter this zone when they have a license (valid for 24h). We only have a limited parking lot, so the room + parking has to be booked in advance. The public parking’s Reep en Kouter are still accessible and only a few minutes from the hotel. Coming from the highway you go straight ahead towards Vlaanderenstraat and at the Reep you can go to the right for P2 and to the left for P5.

Yes they certainly have towels but I don't remember seeing an iron in the room. However I'm sure that reception would supply this on request. Hope this is helpful.
