The Onderbergen does the job well enough but it feels more like a Hall of Residence than a hotel. I completely missed the ground floor reception and thought there was no one around. But, once found, the reception was very friendly, the room spacious and quiet and the location excellent (with €10 parking bookable) and the centre a brief walk...

On my trip to Belgium I had the pleasure of booking into this hotel. The room was spacious with fabulous decor and wonderfully high ceilings. The adjoining Irish bar, Foley's, was the icing on the cake... amazing food and and drink and the most outstanding staff, cannot wait for my return visit and please keep me room number six!!!

Must first if all compliment Jenny the receptionist. She emailed be directions to avoid some roadworks that were happening and saving me some time. That goes beyond the level of service I would expect. At the the hotel she was so warm and welcoming. Even carried one of my bags to the room. Jenny also gave us directions to the...

Very friendly helpful staff. Spacious attractive room w hand painted lily pad mural, small table, refrigerator, hot water pot. Thoughtful details like bi-level lighting, two pillows of different densities, and large bottle of water waiting for us. Comfy bed, well lit bathroom. Not too far from train station. Close walking distance to all the sights.

Sited just at the edge of the old town, the Onderbergen is a pleasant short walk along the canal/river to the central squares. Feels more of a rented room than a hotel (no real lobby and the bar and breakfast room is in the attached Irish Pub). Room was clean, of good size and with a great bathroom (shower and...

This hotel is a typical small european hotel, with rather small but cozy rooms. The woman meeting us in the front desk was very welcoming, and during our one-night stay here we really enjoyed ourselves in the city, which was in close reach from the hotel by foot. Breakfast was at an additional cost, but due to leaving early in...

Really nice hotel, great location and great staff. Stayed in room 9 which was lovely, just got a little warm at night as we had to close the windows because of the mosquitoes. The hotel is on a nice quiet street, so no problems with noise at all. Breakfast was good at the Irish bar attached to the hotel, recommend...

We rather enjoyed our stay at Onderbergen. It's clean, breakfast is included and good, and the restaurant has delicious food. The staff in both places is great! The receptionist at Onderbergen is Jen and she will help with whatever you need. This is a must see city!!

Interesting old building in quiet side street. We were so impressed with the decor of our room when we returned home we repainted our bedroom in the same colour scheme! Large comfortable family room (cans of Jupilier in the mini-bar always welcome).Large screen TV had English channels. They arranged for us to park our car in a garage on the...

My family and I stayed here on our first trip to Ghent and have to say we found a gem... There were 4 of us and they had a lovely family room, really clean with great facilities in the room. Loads of space not all cramped up. Breakfast was not included but to be honest we were not bothered as...
